Yeah, and scan was drafted post-draft so I guess we could even consider him tier 6? And doesn't he usually slam foreign players? And he's also able to win games off progamers (like Light). Soooo, even if we consider foreigners something like tier 7, of course they MIGHT win a game or two here and there but realistically they are sooooo far behind even the top amateurs. That's just the sad reality imo.

Well isn't that being the case since around 2008 (if we gonna take into consideration foreigners that beat koreans in a bo3 series at WCG "early years", like Androide, PJ, etc.)
that almost any korean "semi-pro" at the time or maybe even good amateur would usually beat a top foreigner, and a korean "pro" would win even in more so dominating maner (using fun stuff like nukes etc.).
Ocasionally sure we have seen people took off games, but in a serious BoX series i think not..
And after SC2 release most top foreigners switched and those who wasnt as good as very top kept practicing becoming "new top foreigners". Although koreans no more have pro-league and teams, still seems they are maintain "pro level" more or less.
So Bonyth is our top foreinger right now, but isn't he is more losing than winning against Scan in a Jeez Weekly so..
Still would be interesting to see a BoX series with a top foreinger who claims he can compete vs Tier-1 or Tier-3 korean

yeah this is so true for a lot of foreigners they do not have the smooth micro management / multi of the koreans they compensate by doing insane allins or tricky stuff (that does not display any skill ) its just putting all your chips on one spot and hoping it pays off if you kill your opponent it worked if it did not you lose foreigners need to have a better mindset practice micro multi without any gambling trying to improve and winning with standard play it pays off big if you succeed

edit : the butthurt reactions will follow from angry players cause they want the Respect they deserve for their (inflated) high MMR! and the ego needs to be satisfied

disclaimer if you have a strong reaction to my post its because you detect truth and the truth always hits a sensitive spot it will probably give a big reaction because of this

this is fucking hilarious. brings back the good old tl days circa 2000 lol where we used to argue who is better than who.

Anyways, that tier division list is created by your previous asl performance. Queen earned like 4100pts because he won asl9, but he didnt do well in asl8 and that contributed 0 pts. If he did not win asl9, maybe lost in ro8 or so, he wouldve been in tier 3 due to his performance. Take a look at S8 pts contribution and S9 pts contribution.

A week ago resun`z team did internal ranking practice war(playing each other all bo1) and light and i won 5-1 and i got a 1st place(same score, but light lost to me) in a team. Does that mean im better than light who was in tier 1? Definitely no. I have lack of stage games experience, there are multiple playstyles out there and coach cannot be sending me out vs all tier 1 players.

During the time in scbw, fish server, top pro <-> regular pro, regular pro <-> top amateurs, top amateurs <-> top foreigners were huge skill gaps.

However due to the stream quality, easy to approach VODs(youtube) i do think some foreign players like dewalt, eon, trutacz are slowly catching up the gap between top amateurs <-> top foreigners.

I acknowledge bonyth, dewalt, eon, trutacz, terror, and more players are significantly improving with their skills and learning new/making meta(bonyth carrier style)

you were never really a foreigner to begin with.

So Scan just studied abroad in the USA and speaks decent english, translated korean bw interviews and such to english for us, participates in the forums, etc. so maybe that is why some people thought he was a US born Korean?
I also didn't know he was literally born in Korea and spent the vast majority of his life there.

.. Why would foreigner(non-korean) serve Korean military service? As far as I know as a US citizen, if you serve other country's military service, you lose your US citizenship.

I wonder why the guy who was the subject of massive drama in the foreign scene around 10 years ago for repeatedly cheating in big tournaments is remembered as a foreigner? Do you really think people care about you enough to all know where you were born, where you studied, what your citizenship looks like or where you served your military service? I certainly didn't know any of that before you posted all of that in this thread. My main memories about you are those from around 10 years ago and from when you openly boasted how easily you could beat kogeT 10-0 while offracing and then making up multiple excuses immediately after he took several games from you.
You're simply not someone to be taken seriously as a person. That's why there is no public interest about your personal life and people see you as a foreigner. Because that's the scene where they know your name from.

Since you are talking about my cheating, let's get this right.
I admit my mistakes in the past and cut off all the connection who were making a bad influence about me. I probably also explained about this somewhere. I was unfairly banned for ISL2 by LRM)Game as soon as I won ISL1 and JoeKim who was very close with LRM)Game, said he will help me to play the next season and wanted me to smurf on his name and play on his name. I was still in high school, know nothing, and followed what JoeKim told me to do. The moment JoeKim's smurf name that I was using got caught, that became an official reason why LRM)Game banned me for tournaments.

I streamed on Twitch for many years, a lot of viewers are curious where I was born, where I studied, where i live now. I have answered the question numerous times. You could be right, people won't care about those information. People want to see great games.

About kogeT, I was sure I can do it because i was playing offrace quite a lot. we met a condition in the middle that he has to play same style/same map. The score was like 8-0 and koget played very aggressive with 1 firebat 1 medic stim rush and unfortunately I didn't stop it well. That's how the showmatch ended. The guy who was playing on Dong222 in ICCup server, we thought he was 9Mutal[HyO], but i found out who he was a week ago. He is yoon who came out on Flash's youtube VODs playing vs Flash.

And here you are, deflecting blame on everyone else once again.
That's exactly what I was talking about and why I (and so many others) don't have any interest in following your personal stuff. It's why so many people see you as a foreigner.
But at least you've mentioned it thrice in this thread that you're not a foreigner, so maybe a few more people will know better now and address you properly.

I am not deflecting the blame on someone else. I'm talking about all the truth and what it exactly happened in the past. You should look up about JoeKim's confession and the trouble between him and LRM)Game.

Scan cheated in multiple tournaments? I thought it was just TSL2. That's a bit sad...
I do however agree with the sentiment that foreigners (including myself) suck -- and the reason is quite clearly that it's near impossible to get good practice conditions when the best you can hope for is TR10 ladder games against 2.4k+ Koreans. Personally that's why I always stop playing, when a shitty/laggy ladder is your best chance at improving you'll just never catch up to even lower tier Koreans.
