The Bo1 format brought some ugly cheesy games sometimes. ro24 doesnt change as far as i understood, they keep playing bo1s only till ro16

I noticed that the player Sharp seems to have a 'shorter and wider' view area? E.g. you can see on his mini-map: or his FPVOD: I googled around a bit last night and couldn't find anything on this topic. What's going on, is this a setting one can turn on? What are the pros/cons of it? Thanks. Excited to pick up SC as a hobby again after ~10+ years lol.

E.g. you can see on his mini-map do you mean the fact that not every unit / spell (e. g. if you call a mine a spell too) gives u the same 'view area'? on his mini map there were some mines in the middle and no unit around, so he only got a shorter view of this area, units usually give you a wider view area <--- hopefully i understood your question correctly

At least I think the bo3 for winners/losers is much better than the previous one which was bo1 for all. hm, I thought it was because often the first matches are way more likely to be one sided than the winners/losers/final games, especially in the first round (i think they're still only doing bo1s in the ro24). I don't need to watch an full bo3 between an experienced player and a newbie, a bo1 is fine in my book. Another consideration I think is time? 5x bo3s could potentially result in 15 games, and if you had a lot of terrans in a group that could go until 1am. bo3s/bo1s is a really good compromise in my book. I'm also really liking the group picks too! Every group looks pretty competitive, no easy groups or groups of death.

This isn't part of the new format, as far as i know it has been used since the introduction of asl points
