The list is fair, not sure Mini should be #2 as he only played PvZ; Effort lost the direct confrontation but still seems a stronger player. Horang2 didn't really impress me, he had the easiest groupstage and was steamrolled by Rain in the playoffs; I don't think he would figure on my power ranking.

Only change I’d make is putting sharp a spot higher. He did go 2-3 vs last and that series could have gone ether way. I agree that sharp needs to work on his TvZ if he wants to get to the top though. Also, a top ten without Flash Jaedong Bisu or Stork! What a time we live in

Hes good, but his wrist is fragile, and apart from that, no, hes just clearly not the best. I havent agreed with the philosophy behind the pr in a long time, seems like its nothing more than listing out how well people have recently done in a literal sense when simply looking at premier tournaments. I dont see how that really reflects power in any meaningful way. If this were a skill ranking-- which is what the power ranking was meant to be -- then last would not be first, mini would not be 2nd. How can we effectively measure skill? And isn't skill a core, fundamental attribute; a monthly power ranking reflects current state more than talent and fundamental attributes. It is monthly, anyway.

To be fair, he actually nailed my EXACT thought process with some of my decisions (specifically the top 4 bit). That is uh, to have it laid out like this is embarrassing, but fair game. I admittedly was overtaxed at the time trying to write this but at the very least I feel like my descriptions were good. I also believe almost too rigidly that offline results are pretty much the only thing that matters. But with only 1 tour every 3 months that's very flawed though and not at all predictive or challenging. That's why I'm going to be more flexible/open the next time I do the PR esp. w/ more time on my hands. Now I know it's a little awkward cuz you're trying to take the writers' side, but this isn't the post to criticize.

Rain macros good in PvT and that's about it, get Sharp up in that top 4 (top 3? :O) where he belongs. He's been doing well in lots of recent tournaments, and getting just barely eliminated by the current final contender is hardly a slight.

Mini has a quite entertaining play style in the early game, quite aggressive. but his overall play is very wanky and inconsistent. I still can't believe how he beat effort. I enjoyed how he did it, but he is absolutely not #2 for me, based on only one tournament run. (I understand there are not many tournaments to look at, but for me it's not just the results, but the overall stability of play.) PS: The nerves!!

I think I would have placed Mini lower, but I don't know where exactly. He definitely shows some strong performances, but he really doesn't seem to me like the #2 BW player right now. Also I feel like, he kinda got a good match up with Effort in the Semifinals.

Now you try to play like he does and let me know if you don't need to be good at defending. No other zerg would dare doing this against a good player. Considering that you are not the worst foreign player, it is kind of disappointing from you, and while I am at it? wth is "mediocre mentality"? what? Every single win from EffOrt is in the most fashion way against the toughest opponent, what is so mediocre about that? Did he have a mediocre mentality when he won asl6? Surely mentality isn't something you can change in a couple of months? Please extrapolate? I don't like people shitting on good player with such a poor judgement, therefore bad writing indeed.

![]() However... there will always be arguments for individual sports.. IMO the top5 is "ok", but I disagree with the decision of ranking effort #3. He should at least be #2. So what he lost to Mini? His skill level and game-sense did not drop. It was a 2-3 and as close as it gets. He then goes on to demolish Rain in the most humiliating faction, and I'm not trying to diss the games (or Rain), but it was a clear 3-0. This is only worth 3rd spot? The ASL finals have not been played yet either. What if Last 3-0's Mini? I agree that Last is on top this round, but EffOrt. You have to respect his history, winning an ASL, (and over Flash no less!) Some final small notes: Horang2 does not belong in this PR.. Larva or Best should be in - because they are amazing^^

![]() I'm honestly not sure to which extent I'd agree completely with the list, but I think it's a pretty good PR all in all. Very enjoyable for its purpose! :D Honestly, you guys should start putting effort far down the list as a running gag, very much like Matt Damon being invited to the Jimmy Kimmel show (even though that was ofc fake and stuff). And then the community can laugh and have fun as pauline and eon rage ![]()

He just does that every time to try and make himself look good. For example, I could argue against the ASL preview predictions in every thread. Every time the underdog won it would make me look really good and the majority of people would look stupid. I think Larva just does that for attention.
