I'm so sick of hearing this. ELO-wise, Sparkle has a 55.8% winrate for TvP and 3rd World has only a 52.6% winrate for PvT. But no, no one can accept that Flash got outplayed by Snow so they have to blame the maps instead.

The real problem with the maps in ASL 5 was the fact that Zergs were getting manhandled by just about everyone.

Even Flash said he got outplayed and it wasn't the maps.

But Rodya will be out here triggering and trolling people anyway. Seems doing that in the SC2 section alone is not enough.

You can say whatever you want. Fact is that if Third World were not in the pool, Flash would have won ASL 5. And Last would have beaten Rain easily if the match were in Korea and they played on real maps.

It seems me that here he is actually saying reasonable things: no mention of Flash vs Snow, and Rain being called a top 5 player.

Rain won at BlizzCon on his own, I remember him beating Last already once in some event; that map set, however, is kind of weird.

Third World is a great map, are you serious? Just because it's not a fighting spirit clone doesn't mean it's not a "real map." And if a player could only win on "real maps," that's actually kind of telling about their skill level, don't you think?

The fact is, Snow played top-tier PVT and Flash lost. Yeah, I would agree Sparkle is kind of a silly map, but Z is the godlike unstoppable force for T on Sparkle, TVP is ~balanced on it.

Flash lost yes, but Flash is and was a better player than Snow. Last lost, but Last is and was a better player than Rain.

By what metric is Last a better player than Rain? How do you figure that out?

My predictions:
Mini 2-3 Effort
Mini is really good in the early game but that falls apart as he makes mistakes. I think Mini will put up great games. Some of the best yet. Effort has said that to him Mini has the best ZvP out of all Protoss players. Effort’s luck might finally run out after getting 1st in last ASL.

Rain 3-2 Last
Both of these players choke in my opinion. And their fans overrate them in my opinion. I just hope Rain is ready for Last’s proxy all-in cheeze shenanigans. To me, Rain has seemed very arrogant in interviews. I would like to see Last pull off an upset to give him a humility check.

Of course, he is not perfect, but name 1 player better than him other than Flash and Effort.

Last.

3-1 Blizzcon

Sure it was a showmatch, but Last NEVER looked in control in that series.

But hey, we shall see very soon my friend... I am very confident in Rain's chances vs Last.

Either way, the point isn't who is 3rd best player, Rain or Last, the argument is that they are overrated, which they are absolutely NOT. Being top 5 in the fucking world isn't overrated

As someone who was actually there for the series (and talked with them afterward), neither Rain nor Last were trying much at all. Not taking a side on this, just saying that we definitely shouldn't take the Bo5 showmatch on weird maps on foreign soil with nothing at stake as an important metric for determining who is better.

In my personal opinion, both players are pretty evenly matched, and it largely comes down to who prepares better.

Tonight’s match of Last and Rain is going to be epic. I hope it is a nice and close series.
