back to the original point of contention...

I said that I thought xellos has been practicing 10 hours a day for the past few weeks in preparation for the OGN final. Ejai proceeded to disagree with me. Sure he might not practice 10 hours a day every day of his life, but when it comes to preparing for a huge match like that worth literally thousands of dollars, and knowing the korean mentality, he's probably practicing more than 10 hours a day right now.

That's a big part of what makes koreans successful. They practice fucking hard and are very disciplined. they solve like a zillion math problems in elemantary school and consequently they are one of the top countries in math scores. I remember hearing seri pak had some sick training regiment. And boxer practiced 12+ hours a day for quite sometime to get where he is. Even if for some reason xellos didn't want to practice, knowing korean culture, his manager, family and friends will push him to his limits.

This is xellos' job and he's about the face the most important match of his life. Considering all the factors, I'm willing to bet my bottom dollar that xellos is practicing nearly every waking moment right now.

the foreigners (edit: I meant the ones in Korea, but of course it goes for the ones outside of it too) sure as hell don't play that much

not even close.

and I don't think others play 10 hours a day either.. I don't really see anyone being able to keep that up :/

10 hours every single day what the fuck, I honestly doubt they play that much =]

how could you honestly get as good as you are not playing at least 50 hours a week? ... i dont know anybody 'good' who can.... maybe you dont do it now, but you did when you were getting good? ...
I would tell you what I think of you, but I just cant express myself monosyllabically enough for you to understand me : [

that is alot of hours everyone plays.. I dont see how people find the time for this, holy fuck.. even if they are progamers.. I would go absoutely insane sitting on the computer playing 1:1 games for 10 hours a day.. even when I played 'alot' I rarely ever was online for that long.. and if I was it definitely was not two days in a row.

nazgul honestly seems to play a game a day at some points for a stretch of a week then he can also play 70 in one day..

if you are not even good at this game and you play 50 hours a week, get a life.

oh and marshall how do you lose anything after 3-4 days of NOT playing? i havent played for 6 months pretty much and it would come back in about a dozen games

if i had 10 hours a day to play sc....i wouldn't. i sleep 10 hours a day, and spend my time playing BW about 1 hour a day (about 1-2 games).
and yes, i suck.

120 hours a week does seem like a wrong figure...

My friend had a bet for 500 bucks that he could stay up for 72 hours straight - he got calls every 3 hours or so to make sure he's awake, so he played online games for that entire period (humans can stay awake for ~10 days before they die )

I can play one game every 2 weeks for 3 months and stay the same skill level. and whenever I have taken total breaks I've been back where I used to be in less than 5 games. ;(

and naz played lots when we first made team liquid. after he became "very good" he started playing _way_ less. ^_^

chojja, 5-10 games a day?
i would say, AT LEAST 10 games a day
5 games is too low to a progamer.

i sometimes play 2-3 games/day, but I dont play everyday anymore.. the max that i got was 20 games in 2 days, but after that i kinda stopped playing for sometime..
if I stop playing for 1 week i'll be slow for 2 games.. wont have the same "reflex".. i dont know.. but if i play 5 games a day i'll notice the difference hehe.
