See this commentator, as hard as he try to be enthusastic, cannot suceed the excitement! God I feel so sad for him! Should just scream SCV STORM HOLY FJDKSLFJDSLK! It's not like he's clueless or anything, he has a pretty descent understanding of the game, not top notch like the Korean commentators but definitely not bad, not bad at all. He just can't express his feelings with English! AHH! hahaha
thats the dude that commentated for that TvZ on luna that one time, and everyone was making fun of him because hes chobo and terrible at obsing/commenting... roflrofl
nobody bash this guy cuz maybe he is a little younger than the majority of us, he is trying to do something that only a very few feel like doing, english commentary. It's hard to actually WANT to do commentary, the least you could do is spare him your scrutiny.

oh, i wasn't insulting him at all, i think it's great a kid comments on the game, it's just i still stand by comment and say. he still sounds like a kid going through puberty :D.
I appreciate every effort anyone does to bring something to the community.
This guy obviously had a bit of work to do before he could post something like this and it takes some determination pulling this off. And you have to start somewhere anyway. You're not born a commentator. I actually liked his way of explaining different aspects of the game pretty detailed in under 5 seconds and in one sentence, although I ofcourse wouldn't have needed these explanations.
I hope you keep that up, you have an understanding of the game, just think a bit more about who's supposed to listen to your VOD's.
agree, good effort! Tho I would like to see tasteless comment more than just WCG! That would give alot more information about the game development than someone like this guy, that doesnt know as much.
I think the reason it isn't as good is because its not live, therefor you already know hes FORCEFULLY trying to make it seem exciting, like when he raises his voice and such.
Even if there was a flawless English commentator i would probably still prefer the korean ones, i just love the way they scream stuff like plague, scv and whatever.
Take the game where Nada blocks gorush with his Medics, the commentators screaming at that point... man, that's beautiful.

My thoughts exactly. Also there is no crowd to respond directly to his commentary, so as with live reporting the resident doubt "is anyone going to listen to this" is probably there as well.
His voice might still be a bit high but that will undoubtebly change in the future I remember some woman on the phone once called me "miss" 7 years ago ...fucking smashed the phone down, that bitch ><

But his commenting is somewhat amateur... he only points out the most obvious things that are happening, and does not really talk about the underlying strategies the players are using.
Still like Day9 and Nony the best, even if their commentary is meant to be more of post game analysis.
Commentary that only tells you what's happening sucks in general, whether it has enthusiasm or a post-pubescent voice or in Korean. I'm not blind, I can see the game. Commentators need to talk about buildorder matchups, speculate the reasons behind desiscions, positional advantages, and how to play better in the given situation.
mmmm his commentating isn't THAT bad. he over-exaggerated the carriers though. and the gg. lol i got shivers on the gg. so loud XP. although i actually understand this commentating i think i still like the korean commentating better even though korean being gibberish to me =P
If you guys really want me to go in-depth about the game and strategies, I can do that as well. I don't watch the games before anyways, except when I had just started. Meh, I have watched NonY and Day's commentary on the Bisu vs Savior and also Tasteless during the WCG's. I got most of my influence from Tasteless, he only goes through basic strategies ie:
'in the game of Starcraft everything is based on timing and economy' 'the more factories he has, the more units he will be able to produce'
And mostly he just reports whats going on, but he has some help from djwheat.
In the NonY and Day commentary, they had already watched the game and knew what was going on, so were able to go all the way in to tell what's going on and why the players decided what they were doing, etc.
I can do a combination of both if you want! I don't have the best knowledge of the game other than Zerg because that is personally what I play, so sometimes I get some strategies/reasonings wrong, so that's a bit why I'm a little hesitant in that area atm. Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone, though!

Nice find bouncy - I would have never stopped to watch that video after the first 20 seconds had you not made a point of it - thanks, was wroth it. Just use a voice modulator, and it sounds great ~ yeah add more strat comments if you can pull them off. Great effort superiorwolf!
If you guys have any help for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I just tried to do strategy talk on the game Nada vs Bisu and I didn't watch the game before, but I had no idea what Bisu was doing, all I knew was that Nada seemed to be doing a standard build but I don't know the exact build orders for protoss or terran. If you guys have the standard build orders for pvt, pvz, tvp, tvz, pvp, tvt, I really need those, thanks!
I thought that Bisu was going reavers but then he dropped dark templars. I saw the templar archive and then the robotics facility so I commented that he was going both reavers and dark templar possibly, or just observers and that he really didn't need observers this early in the game, and that he shouldn't waste his economy on going to do different tech trees. Then he went DT and I was like omg wtf?!

just use a voice modulator or something so you don't sound TOO young. it's rather superficial, i know, but it makes a first impression on people and that is so very important...
the kid isnt bad at all.. if he keeps practicing and we encourage him and help him out and give him tips etc.. he prolly will be the next best english commentator
