It's almost certainly Sky.

Mong pointed this out, but I think Sky types "gg" twice at the end of the match to signal that he threw.

(Watch the WEGL games where he loses to Sea, and then watch the ASL 5 Eyewater vs Sky game 2)

I'm not convinced of the 2x gg thing. Considering how closely fans watch for matchfixing in the post-savior era and how commonly any misplay/weird game is accused of being a throw online, if you were going to signal a throw, you'd do it in some way that was more subtle than a massive red flag that could be easily used to compare to similarly thrown games.

why would you even signal it? if you lose, you lose, and the fix is in

let's stop with the pointless, stupid speculation and just stick to what the news reports say

Korean News Article: http://news.kmib.co.kr/article/view.asp?arcid=0012202598&code=61122019&cp=nv

From the article: "현재 진행되고 있는 경기에서도 승부조작을 모의했으나 사전에 차단할 수 있었다."

"They conspired to fix ongoing matches, but we were able to prevent it before it happened."

From the article: "이외에도 승부조작에 참여한 사람 등 인터넷 불법 도박 사이트에 대해 철저히 수사할 계획이다"

"We will thoroughly investigate others who participated in match-fixing and illegal gambling sites."

It is unclear if "others who participated in match-fixing" includes other pro gamers or other conspirators.

could you update OP with a link to the article that actually has those quotes, please

Can we just make sure we read:

A protoss pro gamer is suspected of losing on purpose in (Wiki)WEGL Starcraft Remaster Super Fight

SUSPECTED. Please do not start a witchhunt until anything is confirmed.

Yeah, reading this thread was quite sad. Lots of people are jumping to conclusions and speculate into weird directions. Wait for actual information.

I was always proud thinking Toss players were able to stay away from match fixing. God damn, if this is true, Sky.

After seeing the VOD no wonder Stork was angry.

Is Sea suspected as well?

As far as I know, Sky is the only gamer whose identity has been indirectly revealed via the information in the article (tournament, protoss, etc). That said, he hasn't been convicted or directly identified yet. It could be that he was the only one. We can hope.

Match fixing is becoming commonplace in esports. Starcraft is the granddaddy but it's starting to get ridiculous
If all men were created equal there would be no reason to declare it.

I hope the effect on the community won't be too bad after this incident, but I think that is a pipe dream :/.

Thanks. I was just afraid as I remember gossip having it that Sea streamed together with a shady guy and might have accepted illegal betting money and Sky played against Sea. I hope he knows where to draw the line.

Just saw the links. I'll read up before posting again.

Not talking about immorality of the matchfixing... Who the f...ck trust illegal betting sites for keeping discretion? There will be always a butthurt loser that can anonymously snitch the man just becouse of spite. Do they really think that shit like that can be hidden forever?
