But war and military are a necessity until we as human people have learned what causes suffering and what hurts one another. We cannot stop making war, because we haven't learned how to make love yet. It's a huge waste of talent and opportunity. It's tragic and most sad indeed. But we as humans have to learn the hard way, we are simply too unintelligent.

Simply amazing to listen to his commentary back in the days when the scene was at its peak and English casters were a few youtubers.

But we as humans have to learn the hard way, we are simply too unintelligent. At the risk of making an earnest comment, what causes conflict and war is always one group attaining wealth, not sharing it, another group being jealous of that wealth / oppressed by the group who has wealth. That's why the most stable countries in the world are the ones where wealth is well distributed and most of the population has a high quality of life. But on a macro scale, you still have poorer countries who wish the richer countries to be less greedy. World stability, ie world peace, would mean a high quality of life for most of the population of the planet. The more you have to lose, the less you want to throw it away. In all the world history I've learned about, this is the most repeated abstract pattern I see. Not so much we don't know what the ideal world would look like, but that we're not quite able to provide for everyone yet. On the other hand, despite our capabilities for destruction dramatically increasing with industrialization, stability in industrialized countries is very good because of the very fact it does allow us to provide a high quality of life for a lot more people. There is good incentive for those with wealth to share what they can't make use of, once the excess becomes great enough. While there is only enough for a few people to live luxuriously, we will see these problems repeated, as incentive to help others decreases dramatically when you have to give up something real. Anyway, he has to go. In Korea you're very stigmatized if you evade service. For us who live in non-conscription countries, it shows you how different our lives are that we can practically ignore war if we want to. We're very lucky to experience a kind of proto-peace that makes us able to imagine a world without war.
