Everybody ooh-ed and aah-ed about Remastered for a few weeks, then the hype ended, and everything went pretty much back to where it had been. So far Brood War's big comeback with Remastered has been neither big nor a comeback. C'est la vie...

Seoul Superfight is not good, so OGN decided to cancel it. ![]() 1. Bisu will go army at 12/5 The departure of Bisu will take a lot of spark from BW... And as Jaedong is basically done, now I'm actually worried about what happens when both Bisu and Flash have left for their service... They feel like the lifeline of BW right now,Goodbye, Bisu...

I believe that he means Flash, who has not yet done his military service, and said something about maybe participating in ASL5 before it, if it starts soon.

+ Show Spoiler + I don't like RM. I like iccup, I like the retro graphics... Why did we need this "improved" version??? I was happy in 2016. And now Sc2 is free? Maybe I should play that thing. The remaining players are ridiculously powerful, maybe I should get RM just so I can have a stomping grounds in bronze league~feeling dirty after losing and losing. Zerg problem.

Blizzard killed the bw proscene with sc2(they actually killed the whole sc scene in korea because sc2 is pure fail, but thats for another thread), that was the blow from which SC1 cannot recover. No scene - no new players - no passion - no fans. How blizzard does harm starcraft with SCR? Well now they charge more money from organisers because they are using their "new" product, making it harder to support it. We have two big foreign events Italian Esports Open and Zotac cup, but will we gonna see more? Game that hard is fun for new users for a limited amount of time, nowdays standarts are very different and its harder to keep people around with such hard mechanics. Blizzard thought again thought Korea is the golden mine for starcraft and they not need to change anything but polish their product and it will bring the old days back, but it didnt.

Anyone who didn't expect a massive downturn of participation in this game was fooling themselves. If any new talent started this year it's going to take a while for them to even get remotely competitive even for the lowest competitive standards internationally. That shouldn't really ever be a reason to get into a game though. People should get into a game because they love it, and Nathanias does not love Brood War, he much prefers SC2.

I'm one of the people who's playing BW again just for fun, and I'm sure there are more. It's also easier to learn now with youtube and pros posting tutorials so I'm enjoying that as well.

SC2 is decently popular in korea, but in terms of viewer numbers, its abysmal (both streaming wise and tournament number wise)
