JD,Flash,Bisu think SSL negative.
They say that no preliminary is nonsense, and do not want to participate in SSL
And ASL 3 is postponed a week.
910 who is ex-progamer and works in afreecatv now gives us this information.
Great... BW is in full on revival mode, and now the sponsors can't get along and work together.

Now there was only the team battle, with SSL there will be ASL as well, etc I am sure they kinda enjoy the competition here and there but they are streamers atm and that surely has to be their focus?
So you only can vote for one of the top 24 players in ASL?

(Granted Terror made to Ro24 last ASL, so he'd technically still be int he running)

fucking lol, dead in the water before it even starts.

WOW that's so weird to me. At this point i wonder if afreeca is working against spotv? If not then i am kinda disappointed in the decision of all the players here, seems counterproductive to the potential growth of the scene :/

Kongdoo and Flash talk each other.
They think 2 league is a burden to Gamers.
Because SSL will start right aftet ASL preliminary.
I dont know why Stork change his mind.
A week ago, If his fan vote him, then he promise to participate.
Kongdoo? I dont know ...

Let's make sure that the next SSL won't be fan vote based by... preventing any season. Great.

Kongdoo? I dont know ... What? I don't understand that. It seems good to have 2 leagues somewhat concurrent and staggered because if you lose you don't have to wait 3-4 months for another league.

2 leagues burden to gamers? Flash isn't even complaining and he's guaranteed Ro4 on both based on skill alone

Because his wrist is not good.
So Flash fans in korea understand about that.
Korea community and ex-progamers' opinion is that spotv is urgent.
They have to discuss with ex-progamers anr Kongdoo before, but they did just notify.
I think Spotv cause a failure.

Well having to play 7 days of round robin + post season is probably not worth it for them because they make more money streaming. Uff. I'm really not happy by this decision.
I guess we either get a SSL now with the 8 'worst' players and no season afterwards or the SSL is cancelled and we lose SpoTV as an organizer and Jin Air as a sponsor. Great.

But why is SpoTV urgent? They announced their league 4 weeks ago. Afaik ASL3 is still not formally announced and it was about to start in 5 days originally.

If Spotv want to do fan votes, they must talk with ex-progamers and Kongdoo. But they didn't. Honestly first i heared thay news, i think it is nonsense, too

publicly announced is different from internally decided, some players would have known ASL3 dates months in advance.

Meh SSL wants to reap the fruits which others have sown, while doing nothing when BW had a hard time. The prize pool is a joke compared to them wanting the most popular streamers, who make bank just streaming. At least ASL has a certain prestige already to it, while SSL with it vote system does not by default. They deserve nothing.

What is your opinion on:
-Afreeca? I mean they only actively joined the scene as organizers and sponsors after Sonic basically rebuilt it himself
-players like Flash, JD, Stork, Rain, Soulkey? players who actively extended their SC2 contracts instead of joining the amateur scene early, like Bisu, and rebuilding it?
Personally I think it would be great to have a 2nd tournament series, have a 2nd big organizer(SpoTV) and a 2nd big sponsor(Jin Air) in the scene.
