A fighter in the booth, a reticent gentleman on stage and so calm and likeable on stream. The heart of a lion crossed with a meek soul, and visibly human in the best sense of the word. Gotta love Jaedong. Definitely, that's why Jaedong is the best, not only a top tier competitor you can look up to when it comes to discipline, skill, etc, also such a gentle soul and simply good human being.

Is such a deep level mutual respect somehow rooted in Eastern cultures? I mean, do they specifically teach children to behave like that and explain them why it can be beneficial to society?

It was painful to watch Jaedong lose against Last, but who even thought JD could reach the KSL finals at the start of this season? Even if it is hard to acknowledge while the wound is still fresh I have to say that Last was very strong and punished Jaedong's mistakes brilliantly. As a fan for over a decade I will always cheer for the Zerg Master!

He has an excellent understanding of playing and practicing "to win", instead of playing and practicing "not to lose".

A win would have been such a proper way to let this legend retire. Feels like he got cheated out of a proper ending to his story.

Reading this made me not worry at all, he seems so confident despite losing to Last. So be patient, he'll be back soon ![]() not sure about confident, maybe carefree? he has mentioned repeatedly that he isnt as competitive and doesnt have much expectations for himself now. seems hes learnt to just let go and enjoy himself
