The interview isn't very clear. It says he got signed up for insurance but if it's life insurance the money isn't gone. You just can't access it untill you retire / die.
Not surprising that some progamers lose all their money though since they give it in the care of their parents and they're so young. Still very sad.

Thanks for the translation lenmata!
It's very unfortunate many people like Light who was once a pro at something had difficulties post-career but I'm glad that he's able to find a stable life that's right for him.
One of my favorite Terrans that I remember popped up in the old TL BW Power Rankings which was always a fun to read.
I hope to hear more stories to other progamers too! After all, we all grew up with them for those back in BW days!

Thanks for the interview. Glad to see Light's doing well. As much as we love seeing former progamers continue playing, it also makes sense to move onto the next phase of life and keep gaming as a hobby.

He's pretty awesome for having such a positive attitude towards everything that happened. If I found out my $400,000 was simply gone because my mother signed it all away I might not have been quite as chill about it. Glad he found something to do that he likes.

He was doing 4v4 team battle couple days ago on afreeca. I was so excited to see him play but, flash all-killed the other team and didn't get to see him play =(. But, I got to witness his godlike observing and casting skills. The best commentating while observing at the same time that i have ever seen. LIGHT~~ PLay moar team battles on afreeca please~~. i

Light, the TvZ beast with incredible mechanics. Sad he didn't pass prelims for ASL. In other hand how can you I mean his ma fuck up 400k. It's just incredible how guy raised so much money without winning any important tournament and it's all getting flushed into toilet carelessly. Kudos to this awesome human for keeping cool and letting that go.

thanks for the translation! glad he's doing well now

Im always happy to hear about retired pros doing good. He seems like a really intelligent and nice guy, judging from that interview. I always had the impression that he was smart though from the way he played the game (tvt and tvz).

It's nice to hear he is doing well now. We often wonder what happens to former progamers and he seems to be doing quite well for himself.

How do we get at these?
Light: We have Starcraft lectures

I think you need to download the FORA app and follow Light there. Pictured is Light linking to Zero's mutalisk control lecture.

I think, a application about guide games isn't helpful for most gamers in the Korea. But many people who foreigner need to like this application (FORA).
English should be official language, StarCraft is a very good game, many people don't know it. English will to do for StarCraft come to everyone, everywhere,...

once he was rich but.....

Heck, if it can happen to someone like Allen Iverson it can happen to Light as well.
Very sad when parents get a reckless with their children's money. Happens to celebrities pretty often. It would be so easy to just set something up with a bank (a medium-risk UITF, or an equity fund) who will ensure that the money moves decently. Or heck, just buy real estate, have it rented out, and let it appreciate.

Thanks for the interview.
