Not at all. Obvioulsy if you're in the top rankings, you're amazing. But you have to understand, most of these Pros- they're not even trying in most of their ladder matches. Half the time, they're chatting with their fans and collecting balloons, etc. They even play w-Mode... Plus, in what world has a ladder ranking ever proved you're the undisputed #1 player? That's just awful logic and assumption. Also, they are playing off-race matches at B level lol, I've seen in tons of various streams and it's quite often too.

It's not to take away from anyone who is B or higher; essentially B/A/S are all progamer/amateur echelon levels, but you can't go by the ranks and records so much as what you'd perceive at face level.

Not to mention, Shineee is #1 as of right now at the time of this post, and... well... we all know Shine is obviously not a top-echelon pro lol. So that proves the point right there.

just watched the games

Larva was very nervous during the games. I didn't like his performance in games 1 and 2 at all in both early and mid game. If he was more aggressive in defending that 1st overlord he lost in game 3, it would have been different. He also clearly could have done better in game 4 IMO. Overall exciting to see JvZ in action but I want more and better games. Hope they do one more, this time longer, session

Well I mean he is back. If he doesn't play in tournaments that sucks but the fact that he is currently playing is enough to say he's back to BW.

It doesn't make much sense that it would be a "stunt", that doesn't seem like something JD would do and I see no benefit for him. If he streamed on afreeca he would be making 6 figures a year easily from the amounts I've seen the other top players making, so it's not like he'd be getting a sick amount of money from helping other streamers.

Plus if you've watched his earlier games its pretty obvious he is practicing really hard to get back in shape.

Zero is a great ZvZer. I know it has been a few years and people memories have gone rusty but he was one of two zergs that ended the era of JvZ by beating him in an epic bo5.

lol, hydra and zero's tournament wins over JD back then didn't mark anything. Hydra won 3:2 with seemingly pretty good skills which isn't something uncommon for a high level zvz match. Zero's bo5 win was almost exclusively 9pool vs 12hatch in zero's favour in that semifinal.

I was trying to ask if he was claiming some specific feat (which I don't understand, because it didn't look like he was controlling each muta individually) or if he was giving a vivid illustration of how hard he practiced. (Just like saying "I practiced 24/7" doesn't literally mean you practiced 24/7.) I suppose the latter.

Not trying to take away from Hydra's skills, I was just curious if it was a specific breakthrough in Zerg micro, like when Jaedong used double muta stacks against Iris's turrets.

Great news for BW daily. Even some of my friends who quit playing 5 years ago are becoming more interested after the Afreeca finals. With AI improving and familiar faces somewhat returning, this could spark another revival that will really be significant.

Zero's last win in the bo5 against JD was even a 7pool. JD seemed not to be fully prepared for that semifinal as all his openings were 12hatch for the 4 games.

From what I saw from Hydra during that period, Hydra's muta were unbeatable if he had the same amount of muta against a component. So I guess he found some minor improvement / tricks in muta control.

He won one "Zerg MSL", as all the remaining players in semifinals are Zerg.
