It creates a connection over the Internet, while replicating LAN conditions.
First, download either an older version (http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=hamachi) because the newest one doesn't work with sc, or download the newest version (https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/vpn.asp?lang=en) and use this guide to make it work: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=65404
Then, start up Hamachi, and Join/create a network, which has a name//password. These networks are in general one-time use, and can be seen in threads like these (e.g. Wizard//1) or people can manage them like the art clan: (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=63673).
Third, once a game is arranged, start up bw, and go to Local Area Network UDP. From there, Join/create a game, and play in lan-like latency.
