Liquibet Season 27 has started of with a bang. Three major tournaments (KSL, SSL, 41SL) have received 13,354 votes across 22 available bets. That's an incredible start to the season. For those of you who had a late start, there are 19 points available to earn in the next 9 days! This is an incredible opportunity to boost your way towards the top. Having said this, let's take a look at how you liquibet crusaders are fairing so far.
Easy Victories:
Let's start the first sections off with the easiest victories to predict. We could actually better define this section as "What the hell were you thinking when you picked the other guy!" Nevertheless, a small percentage of people voted boldly and also voted wrong. Below I present the easy points everyone should have earned.
Sonic's 10th SBENU OnGameNet Starleague Round of 16 Day 5 JangBi vs PianO
Here is a match up between a Dragon and a TvP mud duck. 84% of voters were either able to identify this or blindly chose the most recent OSL champion. Either way, congrats on your point!
Sonic's 10th SBENU OnGameNet Starleague Ro16 Day 6 GuemChi vs HiyA
This prediction was so easy even the devil picked correctly! (Note: the 666 above ^) So what were people thinking here? I can only assume the majority of voters were picking alphabetical and concluded 'G' does in fact come before 'H'. Well, you eleven per-centers of literary genius unfortunately missed the mark.
Greatest Upsets:
Ah yes, many tears are to be shed here. In a fit of mass hysteria, it seems all the liquibetters hoarded towards the wrong pick. Do we really blame the players here for our precious lost points? The answer is obviously, YES!
Sonic's 10th SBENU OnGameNet Starleague Ro16 Day 6 hero vs Sea.KH
This was the first major upset in the polls. Sea.kh, an amateur protoss player is pitted against ZvP god hero. This almost seems inhumane. Fortunately for KH, he inject hand steroids before the game and SOSPA does not have a stance against performance enhancing drugs. Then end result, 83% of voters now have tear filled rags.
Kwanro was never supposed to make it this far in any tournament ever. He is the RorO of liquibet. Will there ever be a day where Kwanro wins the voter poll?!? Still, Kwanro toppled Killer. This was supposed to be a quick and decisive bo3 for Killer. Now 14% of liquibetters get to flaunt around like they are some sort of voting savant.
Bisu received the highest voting percentage against Mind out of any bet this season of liquibet. 89.6% of the voters we absolutely certain Mind had no chance. Well, ha ha ha... *sniffle* Okay fine! We are all broken up about this upset as the 10% of the voting Savants get to stick their noses even higher in the air again.
Close Calls:
Sonic's 10th SBENU OnGameNet Starleague Round of 16 Day 5 Larva vs Last
The first of the close matches starts with Larva vs Last. If only we all knew how good Last would turned out! With just a difference of 45 votes, the poll remained super close on this one. Last submerged as a victor and a half of liquibet took one step further towards the trophy.
Sonic's 10th SBENU OnGameNet Starleague Ro16 Day 6 free vs Mind Nearly 90% of voters picked Bisu over Mind, even with his historic troubles against Terran. Yet, a PvT bonjwa such as Free was neck and neck with Mind in the polls. In a hard fought matchup, 46% of brilliant voters were able to take their point to the bank.
Sonic's 10th SBENU OnGameNet Starleague Round of 8 Day 2 Mini vs sSak
A round of 8 match up means multiple points are on the table for this bet. Mini is a Protoss that has shown a lot of skill in PvT, but hasn't proven great tournament results. This pairing against sSak, who people seem to have swept under the rug lately, have people convinced that the match up would be a close one. The voting difference was just 61 amongst a total of 689 votes. This time the higher percentage voters choice excelled as sSak took down mini.
Sonic's 10th SBENU OnGameNet Starleague Round of 4 Mong vs Last
Finally, we get to our closest match on paper. There was just a difference of FOUR votes! Not-So-Mini-Flash vs Last was a total landslide. Last went 3-0 against Mong, quickly dispersing him from the tournament. 50.6% of voters chose wrong as they selected Mong to win. Last now has an upset victory and close victory in relation to liquibet votes.
Ahli leads the pack with 26 of a total possible 32 points. That's a remarkable 81% correct voting percentage. I would make this person your friend right now! Additionally, the top 10 list is filled with several SC2 posters and most notably SC2 caster ZombieGrub. This means that all you die hard Brood War fans need to spend less time grinding iccup and more time studying Korean Pros! Big votes are on the way! 4 and 6 pointers will be decided in the coming weeks. Are you bold enough to predict hero over Mind? Will Zero suffer the same fate as Killer? Do you dare pick Last in the SSL Finals versus sSak?
No matter your pick, best of luck voters and may the odds be ever in your favor!
It's not surprising that Top 10 is filled with SC2 posters. There's been so many upsets that those who follow BW closely would got a lot of them wrong.

That's what I was thinking. I over thinked my picks but I'm coming back strong.
There's a lot more sc2 or others posters voting then the actual BW enthusiasts anyway.
Is guemchi vs hiya easy? After seeing how guemchi expertly defended last's 2fact, I thought he would do well against hiya who isn't known for tvp either. Then he starts derping there...people just voted hiya cause he's the bigger name and they just got it.

This + the fact that most maps were Protoss Favoured and they still lost + I didn't even know LB was on until too late...

Guemchi was never good, HiyA has been consistent vs P and Z in all leagues after proleague ended.
I got destroyed in LB so far, but I wouldn't really have changed any of my picks (except ssak vs mini). Lost every single 50/50 pick(which is statistically unlikely to continue). But the upcoming 4,6 pointers are super easy.

Hiya is actually specifically known for his TvP. It was his best matchup in the Kespa days, and in SOSPA he is one of the strongest TvP players.
On the other hand, Guemchi was never great at PvT (certainly less skilled at the matchup than Hiya, at essentially any point in time), and also considering that he has only relatively recently become active again (likely significantly less in-form than Hiya), the only reasonable pick in this case, was Hiya.
bisu always starts choking when he meets quality terran opposition (like Sea and Mind)
hiya never liked TvP, he said so on stream himself. in fact watching his stream i think his TvZ is wayyy better, top alongside piano/mind, his APM is sick with M&M. if guemchi have done standard instead of that failed dt, the game could easily go either way.
