Q: You knocked out
Mong to make it to the finals. Any comments?A: In my career as a professional gamer, I have never made the finals of an individual league ever. Right now I'm somewhat calm but very happy.
Q: Your TvT play seems to be like at a state of nirvana.
A: Compared to other match-ups, TvT uses a lot of mind games. If you can read your opponent's thinking, you can excel at the match-up. Depending on who I'm playing, I will change things up with my play style.
Q: In the first set, Mong did a proxy barracks but you managed to find and block it.
A: Because it was a 2 player map, I thought that Mong would do some sort of strategic play so I sent a scout out and it turned out he actually did do a proxy. After seeing his proxy I had a grin on my face.
Q: In the second set, you boldly did a command center first build.
A: After seeing that Mong's proxy barracks failed in the first set, I didn't think he would do it again so I proceeded to do a double command center build.
Q: The third set went on for 59 minutes, one minute short of an hour.
A I used dropships to put pressure on Mong's expansion but he dealt with it very well.
As such, I decided to try and divide the map and win the game by forcing a fight with my battle cruisers. I decided to switch to battle cruisers once I scouted that Mong had 7 factories producing units.
Q: You've won 7 TvT games in a row. What is the secret to your success?
A: Back when I was in STX Soul, I used to practice with Terran players such as
Hwasin and INnoVation a lot. During that time, I used to try and use a lot of battle cruisers in my play. As such, my practice win-rate was around 90% in the match-up. Even though the play-style may seem boring to watch it wins a lot of games.Q: In the finals, you will be facing another Terran. Who do you look forward to facing?
A:
sSak and HiyA are the same style of Terran. In the finals, I want to demonstrate a speedy style of TvT where I can show the use of battle cruisers while promoting a fast-paced game.Q: Do you like IU?
A: I really like IU. At the start of the round of 32, I joked that I wanted to get to the finals to see IU but because I actually made it to the finals it's now reality. It seems that worked as motivation for me.
