I've been asked a few times to make a thread for this so here it is. I'll be doing same-day rebroadcasts of the SSL starting from the Ro16 (tomorrow) at 20:00 GMT (+00:00) each day. My stream link is www.twitch.tv/saylesc and the VODs will be uploaded (within a few hours of the cast ending) to www.youtube.com/saylebw. I will also link the VODs in this post so there will be an nicely organized list (including anti-spoilers). Since these are rebroadcasts, people might want to use this thread for live reporting as well so as not to get spoiled by the actual LR threads
Im so happy you will broadcast again. We start off with Movie vs Mong tomorrow. Have Mong done his homework? Or will Teacher Movie give him a lesson? FIND OUT TOMOROW AT SAYLEBW

Absolutely. In fact, I would particularly encourage discussions about builds/strategy that I may have mis-commented on as I have been out of the BW loop for a little while so I expect to make mistakes

In my opinion the Ro 16 and onwards is going to be the bigger platform where the OSL truly begins - the Ro 32 had good games but far from the best players. With that said, the meta hasn't changed too much - TvZ is still Bio => Late Mech, PvZ with double nexus into whatever variation, and PvT still the 1 fact expand timings. (at least openings wise, obviously there are tons of variations after that)
The main difference I'm seeing after watching 2/3 of the games that are relevant so far though, is that the maps are causing the players to play much more aggressively and a lot more midgame skirmishes are happening. On Peaks, 1/2 gateway openers are common because the natural cannot be easily defended with 1-2 cannons, while Blue Storm causes players to take the high ground as soon as possible because fighting downhill is always difficult - 2 hatch muta plays have been happening a lot to take advantage of the area behind the naturals. Fighting Spirit, things are as they always have - pretty balanced, nothing too particular. I'm enjoying these faster paced games though, there's definitely less 200 vs 200 battles happening (so far)
This is gonna be just like PL back in the days. I will never forget coming home from a long day of school and chilling while listening to you casting Proleague. Gonna make sure that I tune in tonight.
We think Sayle may have messed up the time for the event, it's an hour earlier than his earlier casts and he's offline so I'm guessing he's on his way back from work now and postponing the event. But just in case, keep refreshing the thread if he just happens to be a few minutes late.

We're not tuning in for you to be right. IT'S FOR YOUR PASSION TO BW! <3 #castercursed #bw4ever

It's kinda in the name.
Not necessary, consider EST in america meaning Eastern(?) Standard Time, (versus EDT, for Eastern Daylight Time)
But in europe it's CET for Central European time and CEST for Central European Summer Time. So there's no real consensus on what the S stands for in a timezone abbreviation.

1. Thank you, great work! Nice broadcast time, nice content. 2. Will there be vods of your cast? 3. You're aware that your awkward "cherry popping" joke is based on a myth, right? 4. Will you do day 2 aswell? :D

Sadly, every single VOD from today has a copyright claim from "CJ E&M_managed" so they are all blocked (and have also put my youtube account in bad standing)
Awesome, nice cast. Seemed like you'd had a drink beforehand though... loud and a lot of "but I digress" in it.
Mong looked strong. Movie learned not to talk trash if he can't back it up. Poor Piano. Nice game Free (though he still probably doesn't know a proxy Fac was in his base most of the game). Ssak's new motto: "Science vessels? We don' need no frickin' science vessels!". Heroes sometimes lose. GuemChi is now a fave of mine, showed so much genuine emotion winning a 'WTF' come-from-behind game. Grit! Last can only mutter and think of what could've been.
Great job casting this! Can you keep making twitch highlights? I prefer to watch the full broadcast over clicking individual VODs. That way I avoid spoiling the game lengths, and it works well in XBMC, just get the .m3u from http://download.twitchapps.com/ .
Ah, I never use twitch so I thought it was just a highlight of the games and I didn't wanna click the link and get spoiled. I didn't know that "highlight" is a technical term on twitch.
So nice to finally have some Brood War to watch again!

It's always good fun to see if you had the same understanding of the game as Sayle does.

I am sure it has been covered but I have missed it.
after winning SSL9 he announced he won't be playing in SSL10. Didn't really specify why other than it took a lot of work to prepare for SSL9 and it was harder than he expected. He is managed by KongDoo (Yellow's company) for his Afreeca streaming, so some guess that's why he was obligated to participate in the KSL.

It's so nice to see you're still doing your thing, Sayle. And it's friggin' amazing that BW is back for good. Though, I was preaching this renaissance for a long time.
Sonic/OGN didn't upload the Youtube VODs this time (presumably too tired from a long day of games), so we may have a problem. Trying to dig through the snipealot recordings...

Thanks for the vods Sayle! You're singlehandedly keeping korean BW alive
On the other hand lol after game 1, game 2 was just a very clear picture of why protoss is absurdly imbalanced.
1. Cheese gets scouted immediately (Other races would lose) But it's protoss! EVERYTHING AOKAY 2. SECOND cheese, that's not even being hidden, terran can't do anything. 3. Classic example of how 100 mineral zealot is easily worth 150 if not 200 minerals of marines, even with micro, because fuck you! 4. Free's micro during the first pincer attack (i mean we can call it "micro") is about E level on Iccup. Pretty sure the AI micros better
Fuck all, win anyways because I play the A-Move race~~~~~~

i realize you aren't 100% serious, but has anyone noticed that Protoss have been proxy gating about 100% of the games on Blue Storm, and winning. (EVERY pvt ive watched from this SSL on BS has been proxy gate>P wins, not sure if i've missed any). So yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the map, not the race. I'd be suprised if Sonic uses Bluestorm ever again in future tours.
I'm feeling super tired and coughing a lot, so I'm going to try to do the cast but if it's too much I may have to stop and finish the games on a different day (either tomorrow or Tuesday).
I'm not sure if I'll be able to do the rebroadcast tomorrow as there is a bus strike in London. If not, I'll just do it on Friday. I'll post an update when I know more.
Cast will be happening tomorrow (Friday) I'm afraid. On the bright side, this will give my sore throat more time to recover so it should be a better cast.
awww was so excited to see it tonight, but tomorrow is great too. Hope you feel better! It's goddamn heroic of you to cast these while sick, you've been amazing :D
3rd place match will be rebroadcast tonight as usual. However, I will be casting the finals on Sunday one hour earlier starting at 19:00 GMT (+00:00) instead of 20:00 GMT (+00:00). I'll announce that on tonight's stream as well so hopefully everyone who cares will know about it

I'm planning to duo cast them live with Rise but we haven't finalized things yet.
So is this happening?
No, a few things came up and I won't be able to cast the KSL this time. Bisudagger/amazingxkcd are still doing their duo cast though and Rise will solo cast it separately as well so you guys will have plenty to watch

Watching again from start before SSL 11 (Sbenu 2.0) will start. Hoping Sayle will make again his amazing cast. P.S.: Don't forget to archive your twitch streams, because after X days they will be erased. Reupload them to Utube maybe, if no copyright strike occurs.
I just want to drop by and say how thankful I am that you are doing these casts Sayle. To me you are the best bw caster around. Just remember that you are improving the lifes of countless people all over the world with what you are doing.
