with 16 ex-pros it pretty much is guaranteed some have to be some current progamers (eg Turn or honsin (aka bravo) or skyhigh for terrans) and the event organizers are clearly taking the philosophy that they want things 100% confirmed before deciding to release other TBAs

because some of the TBAs such as the very-likely-to-be-announced Leta will build hype but no one is going to be surprised if Leta shows up and announcing Leta wouldn't cause any PR issues with announcing players that have yet to retire officially. But the organizers must want one big hype announcement of sponsor(s) + new players rather than releasing in chunks.

Eg even if people in-the-know knew Zero was retiring after woongjin fell, people waited for the formal retirement announcement. I forgot when he started streaming to afreeca after his retirement though.

quick edit-- and I'm sure many progamer contracts are up for renewal/resigning/cancellation given that proleague ended in august. I'm sure many players have contracts for X years or Y months but I have to imagine contracts with the kespa teams will also be built around proleague years to some extent. No point forcing someone who wants to retire to sit around for 3 months without proleague or drafting up the contract like that in the first place.

There are no dates or estimates. They'll just release the dates when they know, at least that's how they operated until now.

There is a new announcement from sOoL however.

To sum it up, there's still been quite a lot of posts about ppl like sSak and others being left out for not showing interest until they heard about the prizepool. sOoL and sponsor monitored the situation and eventually decided to move 2

TBAs and 1

TBA to the event league/super matches (probably some weaker/unreliable ones) and replace them with

Lazy,

GuemChi and

sSak. The 2 protosses are confirmed, sSak not yet.

Seems like sSak didn't want to pass up a great opportunity.

The new TBA 2 Protoss and 1 Terran probably wasn't prepared enough. But are they still going to be part of the countdown?
