안녕하세요. 소닉입니다.
멘붕으로 시작했던 9차 스타리그였지만, 조지명식때 열성적으로
참여해주신 선수분들과 팬분들로부터 좋게 시작을 하더니
점점 좋은 소식이 들려오네요 ^^
한가지는 곰TV같은 플랫폼에서도 스타리그를 시작한다 합니다.
어떤 지인분께서 니 밥줄 뺏는거 아니냐고 말씀을 하셨습니다만
스타리그로 밥먹자고 시작한 것도 아니고, 그런 큰 회사와 제 방송이
비할바는 아니죠.
스타리그가 활성화 되는 것은 제가 가장 바라던바 입니다.
보다 많은 플랫폼에서 관심을 가지고 스타1에 접근했으면 좋겠습니다
두번째로 저 혼자 스타리그를 다 감당하기에 많이 벅찬 상황에서

이번 메인스폰서인 휴먼웍스 대표님께서도 조지명식때 보여주셨던 팬분들의 열정에
많이 감동을 하셨다고 합니다.

사실 급하게 이루어진 계약이고, 한 회사에서 큰 규모의 자금을
집행하기 위해서는 결정과 판단에 오랜 시간에 소요되기 마련인지라
이전과 동일한 규모로 선수분들께 상금을 책정 하기에는 다소 어려움이
있습니다.
또한 제가 현재 획득하고 있는 블리자드 라이센스의 경우 현금으로
드릴 수 있는 어느정도의 상금 제한선이 있는 상황입니다.
그래서 급하게 나마 아래와 같이 9차 스타리그 상금을 조정하였고,
상금의 조정폭이 적은 대신, 선수분들께 지급되는 수당을 올리는
것으로 조지명식때 열성적으로 참여해주신 많은 선수분들께 혜택이
최대한 골고루 돌아갈 수 있도록 하였습니다.

● 상금
1위 : 700만원 → 600만원+백화점상품권 200만원 으로 총 800만원
2위 : 300만원 → 300만원+백화점상품권 100만원 으로 총 400만원
3위 : 100만원 → 100만원+백화점상품권 100만원 으로 총 200만원

● 승리수당
16강진출 : 5만원 → 10만원으로
8강진출 : 10만원 → 20만원으로
3/4위전: 5만원 → 10만원으로 (1경기 승리당)
결승전: 10만원 → 15만원으로 (1경기 승리당)

※ 승리수당은 누적입니다. 예를들어 3/4위전에서 3위를 하시면
16강, 8강, 3/4위전 세트수당, 3위 상금 모두 합산되어 지급됩니다.

이전 스폰서일때는 1500만원씩 주더니 뭐냐 돈쳐먹었냐? 라고 말씀하실
분들이 계실지 모르겠습니다..
상금이나 수당이라는 보여지는 것만이 리그의 운영 자금이 아닙니다
또한 계약이라는 것은 항상 조건이 동일할 수는 없습니다.
그리고 제가 저 혼자 모든 비용을 감당해야 할 리그를 앞둔 시기에
규모의 크고 작음을 떠나 바로 계약을 진행해 주신 감사한분들입니다
비록 상금의 상승폭은 적으나 수당을 거의 2배로 올린 것과
메인스폰서와 연계한 다양한 시청자 이벤트 진행등에 있어서 보다
즐겁게 스타리그를 즐길 수 있는 발판은 마련이 되었다고 생각합니다.
이전에 드렸던 말씀이 있습니다. 스폰금액에서는 단 10원이라도 개인적인
이익을 남기지 않겠습니다.

SSL9 started off with a mental breakdown (for me),
but good news is coming in after a successful group ceremony ^^
One thing is GomTV will be hosting a starleague too.
Some people are saying “they are competition”
but I didn’t started hosting starleagues for the monetary benefit
and you can't really compare my stream to such a big company like GomTV (T/N: not sure on this part)
Seeing starcraft leagues grow and become active was what I wanted to see most.
I hope other broadcasters may take interest in brood war as well.

Second, while I was under a lot of pressure attempting to run this SSL myself
a company sponsor gave me a helping hand.
Humanworks Co. (http://www.humanworks.com) is the new main sponsor.
A company started in 2005,
currently they are a company making FIX earphones and many different smartphone accessories

During SSL9, not only is there the main sponsor money,
but Humanwork's representative and I came to many agreements for events and a variety of other things.
The negotiations and talks went well and we finished all the contracting.
With help from the fans, next time I'm sure we will be able to secure even better sponsors.
I would like to thank the fans and the Humanworks rep again for helping me out in this time of hardship.

The main sponsor Humanworks' rep said the amount of passion the fans showed at the group ceremony
really made a good impression.

The contract was made hastily, to ask a company for a big monetary sponsorship takes time and preparation
so I wasn't able to bring the prize pool up to what it was before.
Plus, the current Blizzard license I have has a limit to how much prize money I can give out.
So, in a haste, we altered the current SSL9 prize pool as seen below
Although the change in winnings is small, the winnings for advancement and wins has been increased
providing better benefits for all the players participating.

Prize Money:
1st: 7mil Won -> 6mil Won + 2mil Won gift certificate for a total of 8mil Wn
2nd: 3mil Won -> 3mil Won + 1mil Won gift certificate for a total of 4mil Won
3rd: 1mil Won -> 1mil Won + 1mil Won gift certificate for a total of 2mil Won

Bonus Winnings:
Advancing to ro16: 50,000 Won -> 100,000 Won
Advancing to ro8: 100,000 Won -> 200,000 Won
3rd place match: 50,000 Won -> 100,000 Won (Per win in the 3rd place match)
Finals: 100,000 Won -> 150,000 Won (Per win in the Finals)

Note: bonus winnings add up. for instance, in the 3rd place match if you finish 3rd
ro16 adv + ro8 adv + 3rd place match per win + 3rd place prize money is obtained.

in the previous starleague (itembay) they sponsored 15mil Won and some people may have assumed I took a cut.
Prize money and bonuses aren't the only things that go into hosting a tournament.
And contracts will have conditions that cannot be agreed on.
And while I thought I had to run this SSL out of my own pocket
they (the sponsor) gratefully stepped in and offered help.
While the prize money didn't increase much the bonus winnings have almost doubled
and there will be a variety of events that the main sponsor and I will be running
and I feel we will be able to enjoy starleague even more than before.
I mentioned this before but I do not take a single cent for personal benefit from the sponsor money.

Everyone, I will request one more time.
If you guys can bring that passion that you showed at group ceremony to starleague,
I will try my hardest to make sure
players will experience an even more glorious and successful starleague
and fans will enjoy an even higher quality starleague
