Any of you have a spare CD Key I could have? I am not looking to play much at all, I'm 29, and I just want to drink and play some old school BW this coming weekend with an old friend. I had someone create an account called "smokeybear" just now Also, I've done my own tests and here's my results: I was able to use an unpatched wDetector with Oblivion perfectly until I asked someone else with wDetector to crash me. With the English patch and Oblivion loaded, I couldn't create or join any games without freezing | ||

They can't track your cd-key and ip address without being in the same game as you because as long as you're in battle.net channels, it's server to client rather than client to client(p2p). Even then, only your cd-key hashes are sent which you shouldn't worry about if you have the new 26 alpha-numeric keys because they take too long to brute force versus the 13 digit cd-keys. Your ip address is tracked everyday, even the blacklist i linked in the OP displays everyone's ip addresses. I haven't experienced or heard recently that these bots are doing what you said above so i'll just wait for now. | ||

They can acquire your hash just by joining your game, and if you have 13 digit-only keys, then they have the hash function with which they can bruteforce your key in a few minutes. My key got stolen as well, by Illuminatus. Not sure how he got my hash, maybe one of the bot systems is his. | ||
