Hello everyone, The "Foreigners To Korean Clans Program" (FTKCP) is now being RELAUNCHED, the program was put on hold for a long time due to the fact that all of the USWest Korean clans were in the midst of a transition to Fish server at that time so starting the program then didn't work, but now the time has come. And this time it is going to be hitting more full swing then last time, as a clan will be found for anyone and everyone.
So far there is 2 Korean clans on Fish server that will be accepting Foreigners ( non - koreans ) to join there clans, the list will be updated as many clan leaders on Fish like the idea of a unification between Foreign and Korean communities, there is a lot of players on Fish that are helping a lot with the progression of this as well so it is now heading a very positive direction.
The only thing is that of course some of the clans that will be changing regulations and will now be accepting foreign players, do have a ladder regulation just like the korean players, but there will also be clans added that don't have such strict regulations, the point of getting the top tier korean clans to accept foreigners even with ladder score regulation is to influence others, please understand.

4) S2_ Clan - FTKCP Authority - S2_SanDara , Ever)P(TelecoM Difficulty of join : Fairly easy / medium **Cafe website in construction** (S2_ Clan ( New clan made by EX Ever) member ) will start joining players asap.
5 ) NsP Clan ( " Dana guild " ) Difficulty of join : extremely difficult http://cafe.daum.net/danaguild NsP clan agrees to FTKCP agreement, foreign player must reach 1200~1400 ladder score, and then do 2 -3 weeks of jukdori time.
6) [ArnC] ( " A revival Name Clan") Difficulty of join : Medium http://cafe.naver.com/arnc The legendary [ArnC] clan, accepting foreigners now.
- It is mainly Mc. and 33Up) clan starting out, and also throwing in gosu top tier korean clans in the mix to give top tier foreigners incentive to join them, and also to give other korean clans more incentive to want to join in the program, the more the merrier. - The application procedure is just list your name, age, ID on Fish, how active you are, ICCup / PGT / Fish rank, post it all here like so and in a few days to 1 week we will start joining players accordingly. I am writing names down starting now.

-To change languages for Korean you go to control panel - Languages - turn everything to korean after installing east asian languages I believe, but it might be different on other Operating systems. I don't think any knowledge of korean will be required to join the clans, but showing interest in learning korean is a huge plus and will make any korean respect you more.
-Now it is way brighter of a future for this program, and for the Foreign and Korean communities, because after some time there will be a larger sense of foreigners on Fish and a larger sense of unification due to this program(That is what we are hoping) , in collaboration with a lot of Korean players on Fish, I bring to you the Foreigners to Korean clans Volume 2.
-OP is updated, all names will be written down in preperation to be found a new korean clan, family, home, team and place where you can reside in on fish and easily find games with friendly korean players.
- More clans will be being added periodically as well. -Fish server updates once a day around 3 PM EST -/C L ( Clan list ) -/LSOP Name ( See a players clan, fam, team list) -/Channels (channels on fish) -/rename (Rename your name, you can change the spelling , it reconnects.) - You use wLauncher, or one of the other korean launchers to play on Fish - You must have 24 hours logged on to play Ladder on fish - I am only an authority within these clans to guide people to the right people, in order to join, you won't be playing me in any test games or anything other than that.
There is A LOT of progress being made right now, I am working on new clans being added, and I just worked out a deal with the leader of Ever) to make it easier for Foreigners to join, which is a huge deal as Ever) is one of the best clans that have ever existed, Ever) also got 1ST place in Fish SPECIAL LEAGUE 2 weeks ago, and in season 2 they got 2nd place, which makes them the TOP Fish clan at the moment. I am not sure how I am going to do this yet, might have to it by rank or maybe host a tournament, more info soon.
UPDATE 2 : 33Up) Clan accepts the FTKCP agreement , will be joining foreigners to 33Up clan as soon as possible.

It depends on what time you catch it, they could possibly be AFK or resting, the chat is very active normally, except during the daytime here in Usa, that is when the channels are a little less active, but still sometimes I think koreans just don't sleep because there is always some people online lol
This is at 4:25 AM in korea, 2:25 PM EST here in USA... and there is this many ppl on and chatting at this time...
EDIT : Oh my god, windows 8 is such shit for BW, I wish I could fix these issues, can't even take proper screenshots...oh well you get the point, there is like 14-16 ppl in channel all chatting, working on fixing this issue with BW in windows 8....if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

This is not a fast thing, it is a ongoing progression and it will take a little time to get more and more clans to accept this, I have called upon the help of all the koreans I know on Fish which is a lot, to help spread the word and make this a more mainstream thing.
To get more clans to accept they must be influenced by other clans, which is happening now because Ever) is backing this up, and with that a lot more will follow, unfortunately I am not going to list any clans untill I have spoken to the clan master about it and I know there is a possibility, due to the fact that it is a fragile thing and must be handled with care, if someone went and said something in the midst of discussions then it could be ruined for everyone, progress is a slow process, but it is happening faster than expected.
EDIT : Just as I write this, another clan accepts FTKCP.
UPDATE 3 : Another clan joins in the FTKCP, A new clan was just launched today by the EX Member of Ever) , Ever)T(SanDara, his new clan is called S2_ , Op S2- on Fish. There is now 4 clans with more coming~

If I could actually find the time to dedicate myself to actually playing BW again I most certainly would and I'd jump on Fish off the bat since from what it seems that ICCup doesnt have that large of a KR community anymore.

Yes I do think foreigners will interact with koreans, actually I know they will, in every Korean clan there is always a few that can speak english to help break the ice, it isn't simple to work these things out but impossible? I follow through with what I say I am going to do, get your head out of your ass and realize this is not a bad thing and it will not hurt anyone or anything at all, it is only helping people who wouldn't , or couldn't do this because of some sort of barrier which was stopping them from being able to enjoy starcraft at there full potential. There has already been a bunch of people that I am positive have enjoyed this opportunity that arose, so you should probably consult one of the people who used this to join one of the KR clans and see if things are going the way you are perceiving it.

It's pretty easy to communicate with Koreans xD plenty of them speak some English and I'm using it as an opportunity to practice my Korean, so both sides can communicate in the other language somewhat (in my case at least).

Actually there was a point for me, my team doesn't hang that much on fish and when they do they turn to autism, 33Up) is a good kor team from 900 to 1700 fish, easily 5 to 10 members can interact with me as they speak english and their age is around 25+ . So I think it's still a good initiative. I would suggest that if ppl want to try it out they should seek for a team that can speak english to a point that you can have a decent conversation.

Well, basically each player is allowed to have 1 Clan, Multiple Fam, and multiple teams(This is the way it used to be on USWest, pretty sure it is still the same as I haven't seen anyone in more than 1 fam yet, but have seen people with multiple teams), Clan's have a tag and you can obviously only be in 1, they play in clan battles( or clan war) , and clan leagues on Fish,
a Fam ( or family ) , is a group of players from various clans, fam's will also play vs other fam's, similar to clan wars, it is a nice place to network, and meet people from many different clans. They try to keep it very relaxed and chil environment in most fam's, relax, chat , meet people and talk about the game.
A Team is similar to a Fam, a Fam and a Team are both in essence, like a tagless clan, both fam and team's are very alike in the sense that it is a good place to meet people from various clans, if it is still the same how it was on USWest(forgive me I am still getting used to Fish), Teams are basically more hardcore version of fam's, there normally is a lot more Team's playing vs other Team's than fam's playing vs other fam's. Team's can also be a lot more difficult to join than fam's, in my experience fam's have always been very easy to join.
I think a lot of people could benefit from the /lsop chat command, it is a simple chat command on Fish that you can type in order to see the Clan, Fam, and teams each player is in ( Example : /lsop Ever)P(Telecom) And it would pop up saying... ( 1.Ever clan 2. Ever fam 3. Team 119- 4. Mapae Fam )
It can seem kind of confusing but it is really very simple.
Clans - You can be in 1, maybe the most difficult of all to join. (The backbone of this whole thing, once you get into a Clan, it is a lot easier IMO to join a Team and Fam.)
Fams - You can be in 1, maybe the least difficult of all to join. ( Relaxed chill gaming environment, nice way to meet a lot of people in other clans, mostly all really friendly people in Families.)
Teams - You can be in multiple ( many infinite not sure ) , maybe the 2nd most difficult to join aside from clans. (Plays in a lot of team battles, like clan wars, a lot more game playing focused than fam's)
EDITED : I see that you are allowed to be in multiple fam's, was informed incorrectly. So it is allowed to be in 1 clan, multi fam and multi team's, very fun.
While completely disregarding any past or present drama surrounding Telecom since this thread is neither the time or place to discuss it, I want to say that this program is awesome.
I got into a fish clan recently and they have been extremely friendly so far. There is no problem communicating with a lot of the members and it is pretty active (even considering it is like 4:30am in korea now).
If someone is around C- or higher and wants to start playing on Fish I recommend joining one of the teams through this cuz its a good way to get really nice practice partners / meet other people when ladder gets dull from time to time.
Very happy to have SnowFantasy join Qus. clan on Fish server, as it is one of the clans participating in the SL ( Special league) and it is a very popular / active, friendly, and good clan on Fish server, even has there own clan mark that looks totally sexy.
This is another big milestone in the Foreigners to korean clan program, because Qus. is a very nice clan on Fish, that will help to influence other clans, I don't think they will be accepting any more foreigners at the moment, maybe later on but I believe they want to only have SnowFantasy at the moment and work with him before they allow any more.
Qus. clan will not be added to the FTKCP List as they only accepted 1 foreigner so far, but they will be kept in mind, kept on a friendly bases, and when they earn more trust from the new member and me, then maybe they will decide to open there doors to more foreigners.
Team 1st- will be accepting foreigners through a certain process, you will have to go through certain people in order to join. More info upon post or PM.
Ever Fam- accepts, will start joining people to Ever Fam- through post, or PM.
As an update too: It's pretty easy to get a bunch of practice games / people are actively chatting away (with decent english too) like 24/7. With the TLS tournament coming up I've found this is a great way to practice. If you want to do more than just grind ladder games on fish or iccup then joining a fish clan is an excellent alternative whether it is through telecom or not
I only recently started going on Fish and ran into a lot of old friends that were on West server. That being said this is great for people to get into Korean teams now. Goodluck everyone~

I love mc. thanks Telecom for finding the clan for me they are soo nice and all like me! I know hangul and some korean key combos for words and after that I use zkorean.com and communication is enough to have a conversation!
I am glad to see people enjoying this and it working out in so many different ways to help others, the fact people are able to join Clans, Teams and fams, is just simply amazing in my eyes for the Foreign BW Community, the Language and other barriers between koreans and foreigners are being broken down, one day, clan, fam, team , at a time.
I hope that people continue to enjoy this initiative / program , getting a few people into a few clans , fams and teams every day since this was launched, I feel has really shown the progression and potential for this. Thanks everyone.

I joined iOps and Team 1st, but I have no idea how difficult it is to join either of those teams. I think it's not very hard. Team 1st might be more difficult then iOps.

UPDATE 2 : [fOu] accepts but with high regulation, 1300 points and or Jukdori time(Still being discussed) Keep in mind this is also to keep the program heading in the positive direction even if there are regulations on some.
Jukdori time just means meeting the members within the clan and being in the clan channel for a certain amount of time, it can be shorter or lesser depending on the person and effort, ect. involved.
My internet has been out, Been working 2 jobs, and I have seen little to no interest from people at the moment with this initiative, probably because iCCup is becoming more and more popular again, which is great. The people that are interested have just been PMing me, so that is why the thread hasn't been bumped lately, There will be more updates soon but as of now we have a nice amount of things, need more applicants really.

Can't you just join any korean clan like a foreigner team? Go talk to them in their channels. If you get along and your skill matches their expectations they will pick you.

I hit C+ in 2010 but I played mostly sc2 for the past 3 years (and when I played BW since then it was only on fish). I joined Eros late 2011 thanks to a guy named ErOs_Witty. I'm done with sc2 forever tho so its back to BW/dota for me .
Yea not saying it's not possible for people to join clans , fams or teams without this but I think it's nice to have a little organization / list as to what is possible to join and the ladder requirements of certain things if you were interested ( and if there was a requirement ), this is only meant to help the people who maybe don't know how things work on Fish.
from what I experienced most of these korean clans/teams dont really play w/ you...they just want to chat. I was in qus for months and no one wanted to play just talk. Was pretty pointless, if there's a clan that actually plays w/ you a lot let me know.

One thing about joining any korean Clan is that it takes time, you don't even want to join and immediately start asking for games, wait and let them ask you, give it a little time before you start asking for games, when you join you are a new face, and also a foreigner, so give them a little time to adjust to you and the fact theres a foreigner on there team, be cause alot of them don't speak to foreigners alot so they could actually be intimidated. Also it shows a little more respect just waiting a little before you ask people for games, like you didn't just join just to try to beat them.

So random question, how do you set your clan? I can see when people "/c m" messages but I can not send them out myself, when i try i get a message that shows a "/clan set" command but IDK what its saying TT.
