Programming project completed. Thank you for all the work, I had a ton of people contacting me with various ways to do it. Ended up going with the C# programmed version Names gave me. Overlays will be implemented when the new streaming computer comes online.
Greetings. I just managed to set up(and test) a remote desktop solution that works fine for my streaming laptop computer. Because of this I have been able to move the laptop into a slightly cooler room with a proper ethernet connection instead of the ever so buggy wifi. Even at the 13th floor above Seoul there are 50 other networks interfering.
What does this mean for you? Well first of all my stream can now hopefully be on 24/7 - I'm still slightly worried about overheating issues. We'll see in the coming days. Second of all this also means increased popularity and a more crowded chat. Up until now I've had a peak of about 300 viewers, which makes the chat okay. However as it is a twitch chat, it's going to get trolled and spammed more and more. This combined with the fact that the stream will be on constantly means I need more moderators - moderators from ALL timezones.
Now I do not need simple chat moderators, I need people with okay connections and the ability to navigate afreeca to find -online streamers- by themselves. I have the stream and remote desktop set up in a way now that allows people I give access the ability to go on my streaming computer, search for an afreeca streamer and start that stream. This means that my stream will be on even if I am asleep, in school or out getting drunk on 소맥 - as long as I have people online with the access to choose a new streamer.
In short: Anyone willing to help me? I would prefer people I have seen on my stream chat of course.
Oh wow this is pretty awesome, just found out about your streams. Huge kudos to you for doing this, will subscribe to both channels instantly. Btw you may want to you just link your twitch channels in the op so it's easier for other to find them.

There was an issue last night apparently where xsplit didn't capture afreeca properly resulting in a black screen. This is the second time I have seen it - when it happened to me I managed to fix it by clicking stop on the afreeca stream and switching between xsplit scenes before clicking play again. No idea if this was pure dumb luck though. Looking through the vods it appears my moderators attempted to restart the stream repeatedly but was unable to do so.

i had a similar issue back when i restreamed afreeca. i found that some of the streams worked, some didn't. like random luck. D:
Great stuff !! Actually, I was thinking about asking u to set up a remote desktop solution so that we could fix stream when it goes off, but u thought about it urself lol ^^. I'm applying for mod position, I could help restart streams / change stream channel on Afreeca, even though I dont read korean atm, maybe you could provide screenshots of where to click to access the streamlist ? Anyway, just restarting the stream fix this issue 90% of the time ^^.
Nice! Sure I will be willing to help change streams if you want (btw, I'm fluent in Korean. So I know how afreeca works) :D I can't mod chat though because I won't be able to watch it for awhile :o But I can visit the stream around once an hour to check and do stuff if necessary.

Larva does have a twitch account but his streaming to that is almost never on. And even when it is on, his configuration for the it has no webcam and has cut scbw in half at the minimap.

Q: The afreeca client has crashed, what do I do?
A: 1 - Connect to the streaming computer using the logmein username and password. 2 - Click the taskmanager icon on the start bar and end the afreeca player process. 3 - Click the google chrome button on the start bar. (Note: If chrome is closed it might be logged out of afreeca - just go to afreeca.com . The password is almost the same as logmein, just without the numbers at the end - example: if the password was lolminister123 for logmein, the password for afreeca would be lolminister) 4 - On the right side of the main afreeca webpage(right above the login info on the right) there are three buttons. Blue1 - Blue2 - Green. Click the far LEFT blue button. It says '설치형 시청하기'. 5 - Afreeca should now be loading up - if only the left side(stream window) shows up, click the top button on afreeca that says '방송리스트' to get the stream list back.

Q: Obsproject crashed / The stream is not up at all.
A: Close down obsproject using the task manager - then start it up again and click start streaming.

Q: The stream is not aligned properly.
A: 1 - Make sure that the streaming computer is using the afreeca standalone player, not the webplayer - then make sure the settings are correct for the following: - On first person views everything should automatically align. Make sure the afreeca window hasn't been dragged out of position. - Someone might have put on SonicTV - do not use this stream for SonicTV. Only use it for first person views.
2 - If the stream still isn't aligned then someone has managed to move the afreeca windows. If perfect alignment is impossible with remote desktop, shutting the client down and restarting it should work. Proceed as if the stream has crashed.

Q: The stream is lagging.
A: Nothing can be done to fix it unless afreeca has frozen completely. If the lag goes on for a very long time, try to restart the afreeca client. Follow the same procedures as if it has crashed.

Q: People are talking chinese in chat.
A: Over 50% of the viewers are chinese, it is just as viable as English.

Q: We are more than one moderator on who can't agree on what player that should be put on.
A: Player priority should be: 1. Evenly distributing of races that are shown. What races have been shown the past 12 hours? Go with the one that hasn't been on the stream today. 2. Afreeca viewer numbers. Priority should be on the 1v1 players who have the highest viewer numbers with the exception of Pusan who is a boring dude for foreigners. IF he is actually playing then he can be put on. 3. Afreeca stream start time. A player who has been on for 5 hours is much more likely to quit than one who got on 30 minutes ago. Look at the starting times before selecting a player. 4. If moderators still can't agree, ask real quick in chat and pick the one most people want to watch.

Q: There is no sound.
A: Make sure you are not delusional. Check in the chat with other viewers. If there are more people with the problem, make sure the sound on afreeca is on - click the maximize button once to make the window big(to see the volum options that are usually hidden beneath the start bar) and check that the volume is up. Secondly check that the sound(not microphone please) is turned on in obsproject. Third, if there still is no sound(I have no idea why) just let it be and I'll check it when I wake up. Please do not turn on the sound in windows(bottom far right volume should be MUTED). Someone doing this has already woken me up twice at 5AM.

A: Nothing to be done if you can't log in with log me in. If you can log in - try to shut down everything and start up: Obsproject, start streaming, then go to afreeca on google chrome and proceed as per usual. Worst case scenario if I'm not sleeping and nothing can be done, send an email to my phone: knuttiphone at gmail dot com

Hey guys give terran and protoss a break. everytime i try to watch its only terran and protoss. i try to watch past broadcast and is the same terran and protoss.. this is 24/7 terran protoss stream or whats ? and if someone tell me that the short stream of larva yesterday when fish got only 19 players i gonna be mad -_-,

Well partially the mods in snipealot2 stream are to be blame they love more on protoss and terran than poor zergy

Is this stream upload VODs after? And are all broadcasts "saved forever" on Twitch? Just wondering if there not its not a big deal just wondering how long I have before they disappear.
I started saving streams but I have stopped for now. I realized suddenly there is really no point considering the stream is on 24/7. Any important tournaments that is broadcast is saved for eternity by arvick on his youtube channel anyway.
Okay so snipealot2 is up again after 8 hours of downtime + a system cleanup. Hopefully this will delay its inevitable fiery death.
In other news, there is another round of SonicTV showmatches tonight - however I have plans. Not to worry though as I have just installed the remote desktop software on the main computer as well. All I need is a mod I can train that I know will be online around 9PM KST. Hopefully one will come online before I have to go out.

You guys might think I'm a champ, twitch doesn't. Application was firmly denied on the basis that I don't have enough viewers. I've replied with statistics and comparisons + the potential growth of scbw internationally. I might have to go to own3d to be partnered though. This is rather ridiculous when my stream is looking at 80k viewer hours and 170k video plays last month alone. Assuming 3 commercials per hour + 1 commercial per video play this would be over 400,000 impressions per month with the potential to grow this into the millions.

How complicated it is to select streams ? (I'm an IT consultant, so I'm not talking about the IT part, more like how to pick a stream amongst others? just poll the people on the chat ? etc. ) I live in GMT +8 timezone, so if I can help, I'll be glad to contribute to this project.
Advertise to the Chinese community would be my recommendation. I can help you do it once I have more time. I think I still have a playsc account that's active, not sure about plu. In any case, if you get Chinese people watching, your viewer could could probably hover in the thousands range, as that was the numbers eagle had while he streamed on TL.
It might also be worthwhile mentioning ur intention in switching to owned tv to twitch, at least it doesn't hurt in my opinion.
endy: My mods select streams usually by checking who is on and actually playing - giving preference to those playing when there are balloon matches etc.. Also from what I can see they do listen to the chat a lot.
Cambium: I would love to advertise to the Chinese community, though I have no idea where to start. I just looked at playsc and navigating that webpage was hard. I would love it if anyone who can speak Chinese would advertise for me.

Fish was down so most streamers were playing copyrighted material. Except larva who was trying his hand as sc2 for a bit. Still changed when I found an iccup streamer though so sc2 was on the stream for about 5 minutes

While pretty awesome, sadly twitch doesn't care :p They refused my application on the basis that I don't have enough viewers. I'm currently looking into other methods foreigners can contribute.
Twitch's base line for being partnered is/was 4000 followers or averaging 1000 viewers at any given time or 800000 total stream views. You are more than half way to that last one, so if you don't have any luck before then, you might want to give it another shot.

as much as i love snipes stream i'm actually a little happy that his stream is down for a bit. i got the feeling foreign streamers got discouraged to stream if they are up against him. (don't get me wrong, thanks a lot snipe! i just like variety and want to encourage foreign streamers)
I'm watching this stream every day for at least few hours. Today i did not found it in list of streams but quick search gave me forum thread about the reason and approximate time stream will go online. I can hardly imagine how serious the streamer about this stream and how responsible he is... "Thank you" is not enough for this, but i really cant spend my money for now... A bit of happy news, I've got a plan that is gonna improve the quality of snipealot2 a ton. Might take a week or so to implement though. Estimated completion first week of january.

A simple box that takes one line of basic text input with an OK button on the side. At most 20 characters in the text input, and when the button is clicked the following should happen: 1. The text input should be saved to a text file C:\player.txt - overwriting itself so the only thing in the text file is the latest name that was written in the input box. 2. When the newest player.txt has been saved the name should disappear from the input box(to be ready for a new input)

That would be amazing! The one problem with your stream, right now is that you don't know who the fuck is playing xD.

This web page do what you want. Works only with IE. You will have to force execution of ActiveX when IE will asking you. This script is easy to understand/modify.

Ok that's it im pissed off. Stream was on hero playing 1x1. And a mod came saw it type zvz facepalm and changed the stream to a guy who isn't playing.... That's crap.. I am tired to see people hating zerg and no stream at all, Also it is supoused to stream what people want to see not what mods like to see... And he wrote Stay here or ShutUp omg that's not what a mod should act like...

Regarding the switching in the middle of the game, that should only be done when it has to be done(such as switching to a sospa fpv when an official match is starting).
In the end, the stream is controlled not just by mods but also what afreeca streamers are currently on. These days a lot of the zerg and protoss streamers have gone slightly inactive compared to what it was, while at the same time we have gained a very popular new streamer in Sea.
Mokegaye best mod? Seriously? Did you saw screenshots that i uploaded? planty of ppl will agree he is far from best mod lol. He banning people for no reason (Cosyy) and all time saying Shut up or i will make you to shut up... Please give him AT LEAST warning. He is even below average mod. And all the time he want to watch terran stream.
And when im saying there is almost no z stream, i do check afreeca and i can see larva/beast/hero playing games, ofc i will not say to switch z when no z is playing. Also Planty of time stream is frozen at Sea or Mong WHO TALK ALL THE TIME and they dont play games. But Mokegaye not changing stream.....
He is one of the most active mods we have, him being personally responsible for a ton of uptime on the stream - especially during the first few months. He has the most bans of any mod, but most of those are spambots. He has a tendency to change to terran streams I'll give you that, but that is something you come to me and discuss in private(I do receive pms from viewers and take it up with the appropriate mods when needed) - ganging up on someone for a mistake they did is not the mature way to handle things.
In closing I would also like to point out that the chat is filled with complaints regarding who is being streamed pretty much all the time, if a mod listens to those complaints every time he changes the stream it would be in perpetual afreeca commercials. The only really valid complaint I see is switching in the middle of a game - this is something we want to prevent.
If you make more mods those complains will be less. I doubt new mods will be worst than mokegaye who talk all the time with his chinese friends watching all day terran stream. don't get me wrong i do like terrans but not only same person over and over again. For example Ample is streaming pretty often never saw him in the stream... Chinese viewvers spam terran terran mong mong sea sea sea all the time... Also less/no stream time have players like Movie(a little)/Beast(never streamed)/by.Hero(little)/Ample(never streamed)/ My pc is online 18hours/day and i can see stream almost all the time i am at home i know what i am talking. All players should be streamed enough time. The channel is not only Mong/sea channel or terran channel.
If you are on 18 hours per day then you should know that the amount of online players has shifted greatly towards terran since I started this stream. I agree fully that certain seldom-streaming players(movie, killer, hero, beast) should be on more. My issue is not with your complaint it's how you have decided to handle it. In any case the complaint has been noted and I have already started making some changes.

Voodru is a terrible mod, bans me for NO reason. Bans many other known bw players for NO reason. Switches to protoss all the time at bad times. I play protoss and don't mind watching tosses but he does it at terrible times.

In spite of this a lot of people(you included) asked me to put up a donation so people could donate directly to me - I acknowledged that it could be a possibility to set up a chip-in for the 41$ I spent buying a new psu + computer case for the new streaming computer. You are not showing all chat. Becouse some of the our chat is influence from other people chating. And copy-pasting like this looks like i am the bad guy. The Whole thing started with savior topic. Voodru thinks im adv. him. If it was true i would send link and copy-paste in chat every 5 min. That's not my intention. Savior joined a obs game and People asked does savior play/stream, can he be streamed and i replyed "you can watch him in my stream", cuz he can't be streamed here without going offline in tl. I never talked about savior simply becouse i could not join his stream and noone has started savior topic before. Then People started to tell voodru to calm down so do i. Then he write Modesty00 u "trying to start fight all the time" which is simple not correct. Then i replyed Me? Then again he thinks im still adv savior (??) and typed "i will ban you soon" (with no reason), "you have been pushing limits"? -Wait what?? i push limits how?? I simply asked to be changed stream to p or z after that game , cuz of too much terran games in a row. What's wrong with that? Then people started to chat about savior and apperenlt voodry does not mind at all.
Then Voodru banned 1-2 person more i think one of them was ashalaka or smth. They were saying how bad he is as mod smth like that. Then i said ppl starting to hate you and again i was banned by Mokegeya i believe (with no reason again), becouse voodry just replyed he does not care. Then i saw people being banned by voodru , everybody started to hate him and i write to complain in snipealot thread and he perm banned me again with no reason.
And I have talked to mods(not just voodru) regarding frequent usage of the banhammer - and I have unbanned a few people so far. If anyone thinks they have been unfairly banned they are welcome to pm me here on TL and we will see that things are sorted.
The whole thing with you did not start with the savior topic however. The whole thing with you has been going on for a while as you have always been ever so slightly antagonistic in the chat. What happened last night was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak. You can scream and shout all you want that you feel it is unfair - I really do not care. Implying in any way that I am doing this for monetary gain makes my blood boil though. I have spent a ton of time, resources and money to keep this stream running. Hell, I even used 1/4th of my allowed baggage weight coming back from Norway on computer parts for the new streaming computer. If you want to spread rumours then you can kindly fuck off. Your ban stands.
Oh come on, Voodru is a good mod. During the holidays when I spent a lot of time on the stream ( someday I went 9-5 at night on stream lol), he was very nice. He also active at a time where no other mod is around, and save the day for us many times. I've never seen him behave outrangeously for no reason.
Voodru is a good mod. But if the event in the past days were true ( he apparently banned 10~ ppl for no reason ??), I think he just snap sometimes earlier because some ppl said sth stupid on stream. There must be a context that we do not know about.
all I'm going to say is that some of you guys are being awfully aggravating towards a valuable free service that snipealot provides. Honestly, does it matter if you get banned from chat? I'm starting to think some ppl are taking this for granted and are forgetting how amazing and difficult this kind of project is.
Snipealot can't believed a guy like you thinks like that for me. i will say it again. No reason for being perm banned. I am not troll guy who will start now spread how bad you are and your mods. People can see that from themself in this thread/chat there is enough proof. But i see you think diff and i can't do nothing about it. u are doing the things bad.Those mods also do this for free. while i not agree about much terran and protoss restream.im sure they gonna improve this in the future.and the only i dont like so far from the mod whats to change the game mid game...But u dont need make now a war with those guys. at the end they are volunters and trying to offer everyone a high quality and skilled stream and also u are fighting now again snipealot a bw hero of the community.plz stop this.and pm snipealot and mods ur feel.
Why do you want to chat so bad? Just watch the streams and move on with your life. You don't have the rights to tell them what to do or which streams to choose anyway. Live with it. Stop being obnoxious.
The Mods on snipealot's stream are the best, its the only place on TL I can openly bash sc2 without repercussions. Im pretty sure the avg viewer there is 18+ so it is a lot more mature and almost no trolling and even when there is, the mods hardly ever pay attention to it unless some kid is being excessively annoying, so you really must have gotten on their nerves to get banned.
I said once and I will say it again: in my mind snipe is a real hero and all the mods coz they do it for free and offer really good service, better even that some that you pay for.
So thank you Snipe and all the mods! Please keep up the good work!

I agree. I'm a frequent watcher of the stream and I think mods do a good job. And I can say both Voodru and Mokegaye do what they should. So I can say they're the good guys.
...however the only person who thinks Modesty00 is awesome and definitely right is...Modesty00.

Afreeca is just like twitch, a streaming service that many Korean pros use. This stream restreams afreeca streams. So many streams in one sentence lol.
