It's like new age SC1 doesn't allow many insane tactical moves.
Dude
During one part of the video, there's a siege tank battle. He drops tanks in front to make the enemy's tanks focus on the unsieged tanks instead, and it looks like he picks one up before the damaging animation finishes. Baller either way.

Great play by both players. Bisu keeps threatening the tanks with dragoons to save his nexus, and ArtOfTerran keeps unsieging to kill as many dragoons as possible. (the dragoons only get vision of the high ground when the tanks fire)

You still continiously load and unload reavers in PvP to dodge dragoon projectiles. You still have mine drags, terran bio vs Zerg, mutalisk micro, feedback vs defilers, feedback vs high templars dark archons to maelstrom zerg doom drops (There's a korean replay on teamliquid where this happends, but I don't have a vod where it happens).
There was a proleague game in 2011 in which a Protoss hallucinated arbiters to make the Terran waste EMPs. Then he sent in the real ones and recalled to win the game.
You are so wrong. Do you think that during 2001, you saw insane tactical moves every day? If you saw them every day, they would no longer be insane. You saw a few every year, just like it was during 2010 - 2011
I can't find every video, but in 2010 ( maybe 2009 or 2011 ) there was a ZvZ on match point with a proxy hatchery in the other players base. There was a fucking OFFENSIVE NYDUS from Effort!!!
And there was THIS.
Yes, he lost the game, but it was a viable strategy -. he could have won.
These are only a FEW examples. There is more. Yellow vs Bisu on HBR, Yellow vs Jaedong on Match point. I could go on forever. I'm going to end my post with this one video.
Look at this shit, man. Jaedong using queens ZvT for ensnare.
Ok, I just had to add one more video, but I swear it will be the last. This time, it's queens in ZvP for Spawn Broodling.
And guess what the counter to that is? Dark fucking archons, my negro. With feedback.
Oh, and I just remembered another thing:
15:55
Malestrom on the mutas. mOvie's entire run that tournament was fucking amazing, too. He beat Zero by breaking the simcity with fast reavers. He was really innovative..
Oh, and there's that game where Shine beat Flash with an offensive Nydus. See the "Shine: You should totally hate him slightly less" thread for that one.

I strongly believe Shine intentionally disconnected on game 2 to gain an unfair advantage. Whatever. Flash 4-1ed him in a bo5. But that proxy nydus was ballsy, and to pull it off against gosu starsense maphacking flash of all people, that's impressive.
It's awesome seeing the evolution of pimpest plays. It's like nostalgia overload. I remember thinking Reach's maelstorm on Choejja was the greatest thing of all time. It still is (cuz Mantoss is the greatest), but now there are lots of other plays that's are just as awesome.
@vOdToasT Haven't watched all of them yet, but yes this looks more like the old stuff. You're right about how insane shit didn't happen every day but DA maelstorms were pimp plays in like 2000-2002? not sure, especially by grrr and some other toss i can't remember
Queens are a new age, I guess which is kinda cool to see. But I don't recall much Ghost usage at all(boxer did it shitload, really made for great comebacks) Remember a few Flash games where he nuked his enemies in longer games though.
Anyways, nice video compilation still checking it out. I wanted to say that in the older days tactical moves were more rewarding, mostly because macro wasn't that developed. So very good micro alone won you games, now it's both. Like comebacks on MICRO alone are almost non-existant, except if it's very early game or when defending cheese(tempest goon control is 0_O).

The oldest game I linked was from 2007, and every other game was 2008 or later. There were dark archons in the old pimpest plays, but also in the new stuff I was talking about. Movie used them in PvZ and PvP, and there's a replay on this website that has a Protoss using maelstrom vs drops.
I just remembered Jangbi used maelstrom in a recent OSL as well, although it wasn't very pimp because his templar that was going to storm them got stuck behind some units and couldn't make it there in time.

jangbi missed the first time but he got the male storm the second time around. watching this just makes me sad that i won't be able to watch the greats play broodwar anymore.

JangBi was going to be the first Protoss Bonjwa too.
I can guarantee that if BW had another OSL, JangBi will receive his Golden Mouse.
OR are the titles from BW tranferrable to the StarTwo one?

If yes, JangBi is going to get his Golden Mousu!
Kespa officials said before the last OSL finals that whoever - Jangbi or Fantasy - wins his second OSL will be considered eligible for Golden Mouse in case of another SC2 OSL title. But they said it, I believe, as a special case, so for example, I don't think they are giving any Platinum or Diamond mice for 3+2 or 3+4 combos across BW/SC2 etc.
