Congrats to Jangbi, and fitting that the least represented race in OSL wins, won the last one, rather convincingly at that! Rounds out what no one can dispute is the greatest and most balanced RTS of all-time.

Brood war is a game played on the razor's edge. Even the most skilled players can misread the other and lose outright. To claim that some over aggressive or cheesey builds are illegitimate and not worthy of a finals is to miss the point of competitive gaming; you bring everything you have to the table. I didn't cry foul when JulyZerg 5pooled BeSt 3 times in a row, and I won't cry foul now that Jangbi used carriers, proxy reavers and DTs to win. Jangbi has always played a unique and abusive style that's unlike other Protosses. It fits him, and it's fitting that his back to back OSL wins are on the backs of this kind of play. I'm a Fantasy fan too. I wanted a Fantasy 3-0 to happen so that he could claim a perfect OSL run. I didn't get that, but I got some solid Brood War, the likes of which we haven't seen for a while (thanks, Proleague), and the likes of which we won't see for a long time.

To people suprised about the BO in the final game, here's a gem from the final LR thread. Play it to the tune of The Beatles, 'Let it be'. And you know what is the third.... fourth.... worst part about Fantasy losing? We don't get to see HawaiianPig spam TL with his epic html Terror. See page 112 of SemiB LR thread for reference =P An era has ended, but we can hear a cry of a newborn beyond the wall in the East. And the prophesy speaks of the return of the king in 2052. So be patient, my friends, and remember to teach your young about what once transpired in a country far far away... So you will be able to enjoy it once more, together. BW FOREVER!

I don't question the fact that fantasy got outplayed, but only how it happened and the value of the games, I'm not saying that players shouldn't cheese, by all means, do what you have to do to win, that won't stop me from fiercely believing that these games have less value, because they truly do in many ways, and that if it came down to it, jangbi would very quickly run out of cards to play in a longer series, this to me was disservice to how much better fantasy has been playing for a long time. Mind me, this has nothing to do with me loving macro games only or anything of the sort, I just happen to like good strategical moves in a row, not fishing poles in the fog of war into gg.

I'm sorry if you think you're going to have anything like we did with BW. You guys will be playing the next big game in ten years and that won't be SC2. BW left too big of a pair of shoes to fill, but maybe some game in the future will manage to fill them.
