SK Telecom T1 Bisu "I'm focusing on my Starcraft 2 practice"
SK Telecom T1's Bisu defeated STX's Last in set 2 of the BW portion of Proleague, putting him at 2-0 for SC1 this season. Bisu raced to establish a rich, 3-base economy, allowing his army supply to explode, and from there, he crushed Last with arbiter recalls to bring the game to victory.
Q: Thoughts on winning. A: Lately I haven't gotten sent out in games very much, so it's been a while since I won. Because of that, I'm really happy.
Q: Evaluate your game today. A: I started off with a decent economic lead and managed to confirm that he was building a command center by sneaking a zealot in the backdoor. When I saw him adding on factories, I built my own round of gates and held off his push easily with reavers and ground army. Overall, I think the game went pretty well.
Q: You only have wins in BW. A: I have a lot of confidence playing BW, but I'm weak at SC2. I don't know what else to say. On its own, my SC2 performance has been disappointing. It's embarrassing, and I'm really sorry to my fans... I tried to play well but it didn't turn out that way.
Q: But we saw your potential at the MLG invitational. A: I don't think I played that well. The games just weren't satisfactory. So I've been focusing more on SC2 during practice these days. If I do, I hope my skills will gradually improve.
Q: Out of TBLS, you're the only one who still doesn't have a SC2 win in proleague. [man, these questions are rough ;_;] A: It really is a burden. But what am I supposed to do (laugh). I just want to let time solve my problem. I mean, won't I get a win at some point or another? I think that in the future, I can be just as good as any GSL player. If everyone could just give some more time, that would be nice.
Q: Why do you think you don't do well in SC2? A: I think that the most important thing to do is to just play the game a lot. When I played BW, I'd have to play many games to build up the confidence needed to win. Right now I just haven't been able to play a lot of SC2. Even though the game came out 2 years ago, to me it's as if it's a brand new game. Adapting has been hard, and I just don't have enough practice time for it.
Q: What about your teammates? A: My teammates have been developing their SC2 skills rapidly, and I think they have a real talent for it. If you compare me to the rest of the Protosses on SKT, I'm definitely lacking. What I need to succeed is time and practice.
Q: How was America? A: It was great. At first I was thinking we should just enjoy ourselves, but once we actually got there, there were so many people who liked us, it made me happy. For our fansigning, the line was so long that you couldn't even see the end. I felt like in order to live up to these fans' expectations, I'd have to make sure to never lose a game again. I ended up getting second in the invitational, but I think the most valuable experience was just being able to stand on such a huge stage. I regained the will to work harder and improve. Also I want to study English more (laugh).
Q: Round 1 of Season 2 is already ending. A: In the future, I'll have to focus more on practicing SC2. But even while doing SC2, it seems I'll still play BW. On one hand, playing BW is truly comfortable. But it's also something that I'll have to let go of soon.
Q: What do you think about this season's transition from BW to SC2? A: At first I didn't get it, but after doing it, I understand now. To be honest, the process has been really difficult and troublesome. But because we are progamers, we just have to endure it.
Q: The competition for the new SC2 OSL will be fierce. A: We barely have any time to prepare with such tight schedules, but I think it'll be fun. I really have to get through the qualifiers this time (laugh).
Wasn't really sure where to put this. On one hand, he played and won in BW. On the other hand, 90% of questions are about SC2, so... If a mod feels like SC2 forum is more appropriate, feel free to move.
That said, I just realized this is the first Bisu interview I've ever translated. People always snipe them before I get to them D;
thanks for the translation and enjoy your birthday to the greatest! even though it's sc2 i hope he can find confidence there too and maybe it's finally time for an OSL ...
Q: Last Words. A: I'd like to thank Ssak for helping me practice. Also it's Kiett's birthday today, so I hope she has a nice day. I tried to ask her out at MLG, but I was too shy to talk to her. Back off Stork! [laughs]
although the questions were rough, i'm glad they didn't ask about how the fans in america compare with fans in korea..... and i'm glad that bisu seems optomistic....
I can't fault some skt players for sucking at sc2, they won the previous season + had the hawaii holiday afterall, while other teams stayed in korea, and practiced.
KeSpa interviewers are such douches. It as if they completely ignored BW sets and just want to impose StarCractToo on the man. They are basically saying "Hey why aren't you as good as SCToo? You should really begin practicing that game y'know."

this comment just makes me sad and angry, for him to have to give up his passion to continue to make a living. this transition just gets uglier and uglier for bw fans and players alike.
MC has done well in leading the Protoss charge these past two years. It is time for the leader of the Toss revolution to take his rightful place as the champion of Aiur.
GSL, OSL, Dreamhack, MLG, even PL and GSTL. Bisu will own them all.
I BW is destined to die, than, Bisu (and Fanta, Zero, Soulkey, Leta, Best, Dong), please, bring sctoo to at least 80% of BW awesomeness. I believe you can!
Thanks for the interview Kiett! Bisu played well in the invitational and I hope it translates well in Korea Sc2. I wish I was there to meet all the Kespa players! <3 JD
Oh, anyways heres an interview of a few of them at MLG (not Bisu or Flash probably practicing hard for their finals match! :D). Pay attention to how they were so confused on how to hold the microphone hahaha I love them

This two questions really make me sad. I hope that he becomes what he was in BW.
Thanks for the interview Kiett, and Happy Birthday for yesterday!
The downside to being a part of TBLS is that you're always compared to the other members. I'm sure Bisu will find his SC2 mojo once he gets a few hundred games under his belt. Until then I'll enjoy the Bisu I know and love playing BW.
This interview is unfair. How can anyone in the kespa league be "good" at SC2 when they're forced to alternate between games, and more importantly, when you're only playing maybe one broadcasted SC2 game per week? And if you're scheduled in the third set (sixth overall), it might even be played at all!
None of TBLS look particularly good at sc2... With so few games played, is anyone actually good at sc2 yet? Maybe Sun (who is kind of the workhorse for SKT now )... Lizzy looked good for a whole week...
This format sucks, the quality of both games sucks, the working environment sucks... everything sucks!

I think its a good idea to do a simultaneous BW and SC2 rather then having another BW season followed by a full SC2 season.. if they did that then the progamers wouldnt be practicing as much SC2 as they are now and then they would be horrible when SC2 started.
And it might not be as viable business wise for koreans to see the GOM SC2 progamers who they don't really care about rather then watching the BW players they love get better at a new game as well as play BW. It's a good way to get people to start watching and learning about SC2.

...Or they could have just had a slightly longer off-season, and start a full SC2 PL later in the year. Nobody said we had to have a new season immediately after the first one ended. There was barely even a month in between. It makes everyone rushed and unprepared, especially for the two teams that made it to the finals and had to practice only BW up until then. And lol, they already are horrible at SC2.
