20120530 TVing OSL Ro16 - Day 6.
Tiebreakers! Please keep the player hate to a minimum and thank you.
[Daily e-Sports Lee So Ra Journalist sora@dailyesports.com] “Together in an e-Sports world with SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com)” Sources - + Show Spoiler +
[TVing] STX Soul’s Lee Shin Hyung (Bogus), “I didn’t think I could win”.
+ Show Spoiler +In a situation where tiebreakers could happen in the 4 groups, people may have though Group A would not go into tiebreakers. With vT strongest Lee Young Ho (Flash) and Bogus who was in a 6 game losing streak in vT, and if Flash won he would have secured his Ro8 spot. Breaking all expectations, Bogus played brilliantly and took down Flash. Bogus says, “I didn’t think I would win, but I’m really happy because I have another chance”. Q. You created tiebreakers with your own hands. How do you feel?Bogus – I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect much today. But with this last chance appearing, I will do my best until the end. Q. Why did you have low expectations?Bogus – I couldn’t prepare a lot, and with the level of my opponent I wanted to play comfortably. I tried to not show the worst gameplay, but it ended well so I’m glad. Q. You have shown poor versus Terran for some time.Bogus – In broadcast games maybe because I was nervous, my situational judgments were not good. Forgetting a few crucial points often in a game, I had a 6 game losing streak. Still in practice my Terran vs Terran had no problems, so I was not in a state of low confidence. Q. (… They left this question blank, based on answer it seems to be asking about having problems with playing both SC1/2 in Proleague).Bogus – There is no apparent problem. Losing in SC2: Wings of Liberty, and with poor SC: BW performance I’m taking a small break. The team is doing well without me playing, so you can say I’m catching my breath. I need to raise my skills more. I am still lacking. Q. Are you confident in the tiebreakers?Bogus – Instead of 3 losses, and being able to even participate in the tiebreakers I am happy. Since this is the last chance, if I enter the Ro8 I’ll be extremely happy. I will learn from this. Q. Last words?Bogus – Recently I showed a poor performance, I will do my best and show myself winning often.
[TVing] SK Telecom T1's Jung Myung Hoon (Fantasy), “All-wins victory is the goal”.
+ Show Spoiler +Recent SK Telecom T1 Fantasy’s gameplay is definitely the strongest. KT Rolster’s Flash has been showing losses often in Proleague or Starleague, on the other hand Fantasy has been doing well in Proleague and not just Starleague but even in SC2: Wings of Liberty/SC: BW attaining his wins and quiet talks of ‘*One Top’ have been spreading. (*One Top – As you would guess, number one) Playing like it’s his golden age Fantasy says, “If it’s now, anything I do will turn out good” and ,“I will do my best to aim for an all-wins Starleague run” showing his strong ambitions. Q. As the Group 1st place, you entered the Round of 8.Fantasy – My Round of 8 entrance already had been determined, but I prepared thoroughly and I felt the tension. I am happy with this result. Q. With your spot in Round of 8 determined, you could have prepared comfortably.Fantasy – If it was a rookie player, I would have played without too much worry. Already had the Round of 8. But doing so well, and as much attention I am receiving the risk of losing one game is becoming stressful. So I prepared even harder. Q. There are quiet talks of becoming the ‘One Top’.Fantasy – I do listen to the fan’s opinions often, but I don’t think I’m ready for that title. It is pleasant to hear, but the possibility of losing once makes me worried and stressed. It feels awkward hearing those kinds of talks. Getting this much attention is a bit burdensome (laugh). Maybe I got used to being number two (laugh). Q. If there was a reason for your recent good performance.Fantasy – Nothing special. Because there aren’t many days left for playing SC1, single game by game I’m concentrating. But the most important thing is the amount of practice I’ve already done, while practicing SC2 when I play SC1 my hands don’t become stiff and still remember the builds, is probably the reason why I’m doing well. Q. You are meeting a 2nd placer in the Round of 8. (From the Ro16)Fantasy – The possibility of Flash or Kim Min Chul (Neo.G_Soulkey) in the Ro8 is high. I’m thinking it’s going to be tough; I want to take the gold so I have to win. I’m confident. Right now I think I can beat anybody. Q. You are currently in a winning streak. Do you want to beat the longest streak record?Fantasy – The fact that I’m in a winning streak, it hasn’t really sunk in yet. I try not to pay too much attention, but the graphic showing the 10 recent games with wins looks pretty cool. From the screenshots that the fans took, I downloaded it separately (laugh). Q. You revealed your goal finishing with all wins.Fantasy – Honestly that was impromptu. Even if it doesn’t come true, it will become a spectator focus so it’s okay. Instead of putting burdens on myself to make that goal come true, I want to make the Starleague more entertaining. Q. Any last words?Fantasy – Last Proleague match versus CJ, I said my game play wasn’t good but thinking about it now, you can misunderstand and think I looked down upon my opponent. I want to say I am sorry to Jung Woo Yong (Bbyong). Even though today was a rest day, Best-hyung, Paralyze, Sun, Kang Ki Hoon (b-teamer I think) who helped me a lot that I could win. When we go back to dorm, I want buy them a meal.
[TVing] STX Soul’s Shin Dae Geun (hyvaa) , “The Round of 8 is tempting”.
+ Show Spoiler +“The day of tiebreakers?” For the players that were in the chance of being eliminated, their fearsome counterattack continued into Group C. If he lost today, his elimination with 3 losses would have been finalized, however STX’s Hyvaa with impressive offense and defense took down Soulkey and revived and created a tiebreaker. With Hyvaa’s victory, three Zergs will fight for a spot in the Round of 8 on the 5th. Q. You created a tiebreaker. How do you feel?Hyvaa – In the last game my elimination could have been possible, but I didn’t know I could be this lucky. With the occasion of this tiebreaker, I will have to do my best to move on to the next round. Honestly I really wanted to reach the Round of 8. Q. Your opponent Soulkey was on a good recent pace.Hyvaa – Soulkey is strong, but it was a ZvZ so I thought deep. After two losses, in the Ro16 in a 2 loss state afterwards it seems I’ve beaten Flash and Lee Jae Dong (Jaedong). But Soulkey is a strong Zerg worthy of the title of ‘One Top’, I don’t know why but I felt confident (laugh). Recently I had a reason for my confidence, and the game turned out well for me. Q. You seem to be strong against strong opponents.Hyvaa – Strangely when I’m sitting in the match booth, the stronger my opponent I become relaxed. For good players, I can predict what they would do in this kind of situation, the games flow well in my favor. Q. In the past when you were in a tiebreaker with 3 Zergs, you had 4 tiebreaker matches.Hyvaa – ZvZ has so many deciding factors, and with three Zergs fighting for a spot we probably have to do several tiebreakers (laugh). To get 2 wins quickly, you have to play mind games so I have to prepare well. Through this tiebreaker I feel like I could change my image, so I want to win. Q. You are showing good performance in both games.Hyvaa – While playing two games, to Progamers it is stressful and hard to show good performances, but I’m trying to look at it positively. But I don’t think there’s a huge difference while doing both games concurrently. You are only lacking in practice time. It is important to adapt quickly. Q. If you pass on to the Round of 8, will you be confident.Hyvaa – From the Round of 8 I hear it’s a Best of 5. I like using mind games, so I’m confident in multiple set matches. Against my teammates I like using a variety of strategies; they seem to struggle a bit against it. The Round of 16 is tough, I am confident to show good play in the Round of 8 so I want to definitely reach it. Q. Any last words?Hyvaa – For some time I’ve shown many losses, but today I won and in the Proleague Ace match I won so I believe my parents won’t be worried a lot. Also the players will do their best to prepare to bring the match performance up, so please cheer us on. I will win my tiebreakers and move on to the Round of 8.
[TVing] SK Telecom T1’s Uh Yoon Soo (n.Die_soO), “I want to thank Stork-hyung.”
+ Show Spoiler +Could there be a more thrilling revenge. During the TVing Starleague Group Selection Ceremonies, against Samsung Khan’s Stork the person who humiliated him, Soo sharpened his knife of revenge after denying Stork’s 100th Starleague victory took down Lee Kyung Min (Horang2) destroying the tiebreaker matches and eliminating Stork form the Round of 16. Also for himself made a two straight Round of 8 appearance and succeeded in his revenge. Q. You succeeded in 2 straight Round of 8’s. How do you feel?Soo – Recently the games didn’t turn out well so I wasn’t feeling good, but with today’s victory it feels good. I’m really happy. Q. For the front 3 Groups to end with tiebreakers, you might’ve been surprised.Soo – Even in the waiting room, it felt like all 4 groups will have tiebreaker matches. So I became nervous unnecessarily. Fortunately our group did not have tiebreakers and since I moved on to the Round of 8 I feel great. Q. It is possible for a team-kill match with you and Fantasy in the Round of 8. Until now Fantasy has never lost a team-kill match.Soo – I know well (laugh). When playing in Group B I hoped Fantasy would lose. If that happens Fantasy-hyung becomes 2nd and Grape becomes 1st, so I would not have to meet Fantasy-hyung in the Round of 8. It didn’t end like I wanted so I feel sad, I really want to avoid a team-kill in the Round of 8. If someone creates this team-kill, I will curse them (laugh). Q. In the Group Selection Ceremonies, you were humiliated as the ‘weakest seed holder’.Soo – On the contrary after that day it became a stimulus to help me to reach the Round of 8. In that sense, I am thankful to Stork. Q. (This question only filled with ‘SC2: Wings of Liberty’, from the answer… most likely adjusting to playing SC2).Soo – At first I didn’t know anything (laugh). But after winning it enjoyable. Slowly I’m getting more interest and getting more skillful, I’m doing my best. I’m still far away from where I want to be, but I know one day I will catch up. Q. In Round of 8 you can do ZvZ or ZvP.Soo – I want to play against Heo Young Moo (Jangbi). I am more comfortable in ZvP, and since he eliminated me last Ro4 3-0, I want to get my revenge as well. Q. Any last words?Soo – Despite being a vacation day, Paralyze and the *computer helped me. Fantasy-hyung always puts his all into it; everyone helps each other well (laugh). Paralyze and *computer, also for Hyuk-hyung who always comes to the matches, thank you. [*Computer – lol It does say computer indeed, maybe practice builds or long deserved thanks :>]

''I want to thank Stork''
well fuck you too
Also Fantasy #1
|
100 million dollars for the scalp of Soo. Anything but a demolishing and demoralizing loss is unacceptable.
|
Soo, you will get crushed like a bug, yet again like last OSL Jangbi to win it all, against someone from tie breakers. Korean Air OSL style

thanking the computer hehehehe
|
Is it me or does Soo looks so evil in his pic, especially without glasses.
|
Fantasy going undefeated in this OSL would be the most epic thing ever
|
Haha right on Soo. Getting back at stork and giving shoutouts to the AI like a boss. :D
|
It would be so satisfying to see Soo knock JangBi out after all the JangBi bandwagon last season. Either Soo or Fantasy himself if it comes to it.
|
soo vs shine finals incoming
but my picks for tiebreakers: flash, mini, soulkey
|
God fantasy looks… different with no glasses

I've been a SoO anti-fan for awhile now, and all I have to say is that JangBi will crush him if he has to. Also given the number of zergs advancing I hope mini is able to advance out of the group tiebreakers.

+1 SoO antifan here. Thanks for trans!
|
While I don't want more ZvZs, the more zergs Flash plays the better chance he has of winning (highest all-time vZ Elo now).
|
Sad Stork didnt make it, hopes for JangBi to win this osl.

Nice to see that the headline writers for DES are also good at taking things out of context like editors at other media outlets.
Headline: SK Telecom T1's Jung Myung Hoon ((T)Fantasy), “All-wins victory is the goal”. Actual answer: "Instead of putting burdens on myself to make that goal come true, I want to make the Starleague more entertaining."
Headline: STX Soul’s Shin Dae Geun ((Z)hyvaa) , “The Round of 8 is tempting”. Actual answer: Hrm. Maybe it was taken from "The Round of 16 is tough, I am confident to show good play in the Round of 8 so I want to definitely reach it."?
Headline: SK Telecom T1’s Uh Yoon Soo ((Z)n.Die_soO), “I want to thank Stork-hyung.” Actual answer: "[humiliation as the ‘weakest seed holder’] became a stimulus to help me to reach the Round of 8. In that sense, I am thankful to Stork." (emphasis added)
Anyways, Stork fans/Soo haters, it doesn't really make sense to hate on someone doing what it takes to win at a tournament, (and sealing the fate of someone who talked shit like that). I would've liked to see Stork in the later rounds too, but he just didn't perform. And if you're looking for someone to hate for day 6's games, perhaps it should be Horang2, since his inability to win was really what was at fault?
Thanks for the translation.
|
|
Thanks for translation, Kimoleon!
People who hate SoO (and curiously sport the Khan tag) should rather hate Horangee and his cannon cancelling skills. Actually both Stork and Horang2 lost on their own ability. Can you blame SoO for not failing to capitalize on that? That and the trashtalk from Stork during the group selection.
The only reason I cheered for Horang2 in that game was to get the 4/4 tiebreakers.
|
Computer = best practice partner ever, yet no one thank it enough unlike Soo.
|
FANTASY!!!
soO likely to become next Hyuk; but I'd rather see Fantasy go on a tear and destroy Soulkey (I have a feeling this is Fantasy's match), Flash and Jangbi.
|
Man how can you say "please keep player hate to a minimum" then post a quote right next to SoO's name saying "I want to thank Stork-hyung." How?!?!!!! >:|
|
Don't get how can people be hating on SoO for this situation, even if they're Stork fans. He literally trashtalked SoO during the group selections, then played like garbage both during dual tournament and in his ro16 - it's karma at its finest if anything.
|
iirc both bm'ed each other, no big deal in that, actually it makes everything more interesting.. i guess some people like boring ceremonies or something ofc fans can get mad when their fav players loses. everything is a drama in bw forum these days, dont get why skt1 fans are taking it so seriously anyway ;;
fantasy looking so strong, let's see if he can be stopped

fantasy looking so strong, let's see if he can be stopped i thought only stork trashtalked? then when soo won he kind of reciprocated.
idk what is it with khan tosses and being so confident
|
i think in the ceremony everyone wanted to be in soo's group cuz they all thought was the easier one lol. stork said was surprised soo was even a seed and wanted is 100th win against a real player and soo replied saying he beat stork exactly 1 year ago with a 5 pool and being 3-0 against him and something about mothers day and stork being easy/fun...

Maybe stork shouldnt have thrashed talk about soo being easy when he played much wprse than soo himself in the games?
|
|
as I said before, fantasy will win this osl.
|
everyone hating on soo is being a giant fucking baby
Stork talked shit about soo during a broadcast and then failed to deliver. Hate on stork if you want but soo earned the right to say whatever the hell he wants at this point.

Good to see that one of our SKTZergs finally gets a hater team of his own. I can't help but feel that it's not fully deserved though, because Stork is not really good anymore at all.

man I hate soo so much I don't care if he's in SKT I just want to see him lose

Karma for cockiness/trash talk.
Remember Flash and his "It is not possible for a player that can beat me this MSL to exist" followed by a very early and hilarious 0-2 MSL Ro32 exit at the hands of Ssak and Classic?
Good players should just shut the hell up and maybe they won't get humiliated.
Also: thanks for the translation.

Also: thanks for the translation. FBH "Savior sucks" (paraphrasin) FBH > Savior 8 times Savior > FBH 3 times.
Fantasy will kick Soo's ass.

Funny. Last season, Stork was the best protoss with 15 - 6 record. Even better than Bisu's 13 - 7 ( Believe it or not :O ) It should be Bisu who shouldn't be in TBLS level according to your logic because you said Stork isn't supposed to be in TBLS. In reality, Bisu has worse records than Stork. So that will automatically make Bisu nowhere near TBLS.
I'll quote this too because I question this too
