Why? They'd need to swap monitors at best. Trust me, OGN is *very* good at this.

Set over, camera off? TAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF THE BOOTH. Seriously, they're professionals.

Also,

I'd watch it without a problem as long as BW/SC2 players aren't practicing both games at once because it'll mean worse games across the board, what I'd like to see would be like Effort vs Flash followed by MVP vs Leenock or whatever (assuming they were on the BW teams, etc.). Then we get good BW and good SC2.

This sounds like such a dumb idea. Love both games, but they're separate games and shouldn't be integrated. It won't help teams either, cause you'll have players only focused on BW and players only focused on SC2. They won't be able to help each other with strategies

Than you don't need to change something and just let there be two leagues. There will be some significant changes, unfortunately, otherwise they wouldn't have split the PL season into two parts anyway.

There is a shit load of angry BW fanboys on here D:

Now, coming from a relatively unbiased point of view, I think this is going to really bring the community together :D

I closely follow both BW and SC2 because both of them have their inherent flaws and their awesome traits.
+ Show Spoiler +

BW Pros : Ridiculous APM requirements, old school heroes like Bisu and JD, difficult interface, so you know those boys are just clickin and clackin away on those keyboards >: D these two things just make it sooo fucking interesting to watch because you know that pure talent is behind those screens.

BW cons = Eyesore, not saying BW is just unwatchable, but by modern standards, ya -___- Lack of new faces, we all know Flash, JD, Bisu, and the likes are always going to be at the forefront, no room for growth, guys..I love BW because of the incredible talent that is in it, but lets be honest with ourselves as fans, this move is a desperation move, because money and time are running out for our beloved game.

SC2 pros = Gorgeous to watch, all commentary is in English (for the most part), large foreign community with talent and potential, game is still young, strategies and metagame are expanding all the time, the game is already becoming much less deathball dependent, I saw a game with Puma the other day where he was executing double pronged drops and micro'ing them well along with his marine tank push, I was thoroughly impressed, the apm on that is sick, it seems like the true talent and practice is finally showing through,

Sc2 cons = Lack of ridiculously amazing players, the players are getting better....they are, but we dont have any true "Holy shit he is unstoppable" players as of right now, makes it hard to really get behind someone in my opinion. Deathballs, wihle the game is improving and stepping away from these, there is still the dreaded and boring deathballs ...,Mostly in matchups with Protoss is what I observe.

So pretty much, why wouldnt you guys want this? Why must you be "BW fans" or "SC2 fans"? Why not just be "Starcraft fans"? I think this is cool, it might breathe some new life into the BW scene and its starting a more rapid integration in the Korean scene (I'm sure they are hesitant about the change).

SO as STARCRAFT fans lets look at this through some optimism yes?

Starcraft for life <3

Your post is absurdly ignorant. I'm not sure even where to start. We don't watch BW because it's mechanically more demanding, we watch BW because it's played better in every aspect: strategy, multitask, decision making, EVERYTHING.

BW fans can't be SC2 fans because SC2 is cannibalizing everything that we worked so hard for over the past 10 years. Just because it has "starcraft" in it's name, you guys feel like you have the right to everything we created. You're even recycling our players like some kind of bastardized retirement home. Go start "esports" on your own, purely off the passion and dedication of fans and players. Then come back and we'll talk about sharing a league. All I see in sc2 is people trying to make money. All I see in BW is passion and love for the game. Here's what your precious foreign players have to say about their game
IdrA
cuz its a shit game

Jinro
Although, as someone who is currently playing SC2 professionally, I would have to say that yes, SC2 is inferior to SC1.

Why are they playing sc2 then? To make a living off gaming because they weren't good enough at BW.
Midas
I'm going to confess that in the off-season, I tried out StarCraft 2 and League of Legends. I was so surprised when I first played StarCraft 2. I couldn't believe that such an easy game exists. Same with League of Legends. I guess the best way to attract people these days is to make things easy and simple."

If by "breathe new life into the BW scene" you mean screw us over, then sure. Because cutting our only league left in half is "breathing new life". Yup. Maybe SC2 should donate all of it's prize winnings to sponsor a new OSL. SC2 owes 100% of it's success to BW. If it was called space invaders 3, it would, at best, be a thread in the Sports and Games subforum.

Not liking this. I'd rather they keep the games seperate or BW pro's switching. I'd prefer the former. BW still gives me more excitement from awesome games than awesome SC2 games give me.

I am not really sure if BW is really still this big in Korea. SC2 is booming while the whole BW scene stands still for years.

But I really don't want to see this stupid system. Rather a complete SC2 proleague than this.

SC2 is booming outside of Korea. It isn't doing that great in Korea at all. Get your facts straight.

If you're going to host a SC2 PL its better to jump in with both feet or not at all. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Besides that can you guys do me a favor and just ignore everything the PG guy says? He hasn't said anything credible since he joined.

That's an...odd implementation. I can see why they'd want to do this (combine the two fanbases into one to get more viewers and more sponsors), but...yeah, just odd.

As a fan of both games, I'd watch it, of course. BW fans can suffer through a few SC2 matches, I think, and ditto for SC2 fans. If you love your game, you'll watch, and I think that's what Kespa is counting on.

Hopefully, though, they'll at least have different squads for each game. There's no way you can practice two games and still be as good as you can be. That's more of a team management thing than anything else, though...

I guess it may be more about the capital required to run two separate leagues? Take into consideration that two leagues means you need another accessible timeslot, more studio time which in turns ups broadcasting costs and things of that nature. I'm just saying that as long as players aren't cutting their practice between two games I wouldn't mind.

Can you image a match where a team wins all/most of the BW sets and loses the match? what kind of bullshit would that be. How can a BW fan get hyped about competition when it becomes such a farce.
I'm going to sleep, let me get some of that carpet.

Interesting idea by Kespa . I guess it's better then not having BW at all , though i would much prefer for them to be played separately .

I am so confused at this idea I don't even know what to think. It just seems like a terrible implementation of SC2.

Hey guys. I think we should ask them to put some other games in too. Something like...

Set 1: BW
Set 2: SC2
Set 3: LoL
Set 4: DotA 2
Set 5: Fifa Online
Set 6: WoW Arena
Ace Match: Tic Tac Toe

IT WOULD BE THE COOLEST GAME LEAGUE EVER!

well the championship gaming series or CGS shared the same idea of this kind of format . It died prematurely because it could never sustain enough sponsorship and garner enough fans or viewers . So sadly nope having this kind of format will be a total drop of interest from fans of each game .
