It's quite embarrassing how the OSL is right now. Last year we saw the same thing, people posting and wondering "Where is the OSL" with no answers (ultimately we only had one OSL that entire year!). It's unprofessional, and a clear sign of the present scene utterly collapsing. Do you think you'd see posts "When is the Tennis US Open this year?". No, all four tournaments are scheduled, and it is quite clear with no room for misinterpretation. We almost had this for Broodwar for a long time. For a few years there was an OSL every 4 months like clockwork. Now? Individual leagues are nonexistent.

Now even Korean fans have to scratch their heads, wondering when it is. "Early 2012" is all they can say. I hate to bring up SC2, but you can respect GomTV for their scheduling of SC2. OGN has done a fantastic job with proleague given the MBCGame closure, and on this front they should be pleased. However, on the OSL side they have clearly failed - going from one tournament every four months to one in a year and now simply "early 2012". Failure and shame is the new name of the OSL (read: not OGN as a whole, since SPL is proceeding nicely).

Our scene has fallen so much. What other sport has a giant "?" for its tournaments? 3 years ago we had SPL, MSL, OSL, and even a GomTV tournament (albeit with several teams not participating). Today, we have SPL.

Bah.

I can't remember the last time that OGN actually set a fixed schedule for OSL. They never start in a particular month or anything.

And the reason why the last one took so long to get started was because OSL did the bullshit MyStarleague thing that delayed it for such a long time.

Honestly though, the loss of MSL is a pretty big blow to the BW scene.

I wonder how much it costs to sponsor an OSL. Im pretty sure there is enough BW fans where if we pitched in $10 per person we could raise enough to sponsor one ourselves.

as much as i dislike waiting for this OSL I think/hope that Jd uses this time to get more comfortable with his training partners and have some efficient practice time.

As strange as it sounds (OSL - success - Bisu), it is very likely in my opinion. Usually I would say Flash vs Jaedong, but right now, Bisu vs Flash is really more likely than Flash vs Jaedong + Show Spoiler +

but only time will tell... maybe we see some unexpected contenders, no one from TLBS?
