Since the announcement that MBCGame is shuttingdown, I have downloaded virtually every BW related VOD on the MBCGame website from 17-04-2003 to 01-11-2011. There are over 11,000 VODs, 1.27TB. + Show Spoiler +
I wasn't sure what the best way to share them was so I have decided to release them as three separate torrents over the coming weeks as it's probably too much to share in one go.
The first is MSLs, this is every VOD in this section of the MBC website. You can download this here. + Show Spoiler +
The next is Proleague which is every VOD on this part of the website. You can download this here. + Show Spoiler +
The last contains every kind of variety show or special tournament. Inside this folder I have isolated the Bnet Attacks, FPVODs (Into the MSL and Show Me the MSL), Hyungjoon (Becomes a Progamer and Forms a Game Team), Star Infinity Challenge and STX Masters Cups. The rest are in a folder called 'Everything Else'. You can download this here. + Show Spoiler +
I have also made an Excel spreadsheet based on Ryo's descriptions of what all these other shows are. You can download that separately here or view it on google docs here. (Note that I have only downloaded a few episodes of "@play" but the rest are complete).
I will try to keep seeding constantly for the next few weeks, after than I may just leave it running at weekends and overnight. Also my seeding abilities are a little unreliable of late, if you are seeing no nodes make sure you have a port open and you're not unconnectable. If you download anything please keep seeding too.

Note:
the files within are named as MBC named them, so the only real information is the date it was broadcasted.
some VODs are missing. Often in a Proleague or MSL the website will just be missing a random game, in some cases I have tracked this down and you will find a .flv file in the folder but in general I didn't look for missing VODs.
the quality on the MBC website didn't get good until some point in 2009 and improved again in 2010. Before that both video and audio quality are quite poor. The quality is often higher on nevake as these were most likely obtained from someone recording from TV and sharing it, for example the GOMTV S4 MSL added to the tracker by Jonvvv last week is much better quality than the one in here (note the other three are the same). Please do not complain about the quality, there is nothing I can do.
the Proleague section just contains the games MBC broadcasted, so it will be about half of each proleague.
these files are all flash, these can be played in your web browser, by downloading an flv or mp4 codec or using a media player such as vlc or kmplayer.
Wow, this is incredible. Anyone with a few hundred extra gigs lying around should download all this to ensure more backups exist. Sadly, i am not in the position to help seed something this important, but I wish i were.

Yeah seriously this is an amazing collection, def something I will put on a HDD and keep for years, so that I could look back and see what the best game of all time was like.

They aren't unencoded TV rips, if that's what you mean.
They're taken from MBC's archive, which means the quality of the older videos is pretty damn bad, but still watchable (and it's not like there's anywhere else to get them!).

Holy check... that's a lot of VoDs... 1.27 TB?! That's like x6 the amount of memory than my laptop can handle. Even the MSL torrent is a bit more than my laptop can handle. Well, I know what I NEED for Christmas (Terabyte hard drive *cough cough*) Even though I can't enjoy the fruits of such labor, it is still highly appreciated that this has been done. Currently have 1.49tB spare on my hard drive so will commence the download now Doing my part for esports :D However, it's gonna take me a long long time as I only download at 200kb/s

Okay, I'm just confirming. Some other threads in the past said MBCGame (the broadcaster), and it wasn't clear if the tournament would survive in some form in another (eg. picked up by another broadcasting station). I was very hopeful that it would, but I guess it is not so . Sad day (

Wouldn't drop box or something be beneficial in this situation. That is an absolutely massive file size, it would take about a year to download with my connection.

This is amazing. I never really got into the BW pro scene outside of some random Youtube videos but now that I'm fully engaged in SC2's scene I'm interested in checking a lot of these games out. In particular, I want to see how the game evolved over the years.
In the future, if Team Liquid ever becomes profitable enough to do this, it would be so sick if they could work out the legalities of maybe hosting a massive BW VoD library, where you can't watch whatever, whenever.
I mean take this, plus nevake's library, plus all the little videos here and there everyone has lying around and I am sure a sizable amount of the major televised games overall will be available.
so, i have a little problem here, i've never used a torrent in my life, i always download via direct links and stuff, so this is the thing i dont understand, i've started the download today, and my bittorrent says that ive downloaled like 4.8 gb, but when i see the MSL folder it says 111 gb, is this normal? because ill keep downloading it, i just wanna now if tomorrow when i wake up the folder is going to be like 400 gb even when download says it has only downloaded 10 gb, someone please tell me if this is normal XD

usually the clients will allocate the space for any of the files it has touched, so if you have any piece of a 100mb file, it will allocate the whole space up front. the folder shouldnt grow beyond what your client told you it would be when you started it

Maybe tl could raise money to host this on a server...I suppose 2tb storage shouldnt be too expensive if well get together to host it... That way we can make sure everyone can watch it online for a long time...
Generally a bigger torrent is better, because it will be seeded for longer and it's easier for people to find everything you want to share. All the clients these days allow you to choose which files to download.
I don't think it will matter much since it's on TL, but I just wanted to point this out. Good job either way.

No, I have some OGN stuff downloaded and am working on downloading more but it takes a lot longer so don't expect one soon. Ideally in the long-term I would like to do the same for OGN though.

No unfortunately, TriGem is missing alright, as are the last three days of the the HanaFos CenGame MSL but I managed to get the final thanks to Jonvvv and endy.

I would recommend VLC (as did Moktira) because it seems to met that it can play and video type that you will ever need. You can download it at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I'd love for someone with nevake upload access to see if the relevant games are in here and upload them if so!

Note that this goes to the 1st of November so today's (4th November) Bnet Attack and Sunchun Show and yesterday's (3rd November) User's Taste and Show Replay are not included.
Part 3 is worth downloading imo. The quality of the older shows might not be fantastic but there are several good documentaries and interesting small tournaments which are not available anywhere else.

Hi all, Just wanted to mention that I will be downloading and seeding these for a while starting tonight. I have a 250GB/month bandwidth cap at home, and a 200GB/month cap through VPS hosting that I may also use, so it will take me at least 3 months to do the download. I have 3x2TB hard drives showing up soon so space should not be an issue

He's just telling them that the torrent includes all the past HERO shows like Hero Expedition, Manner School, Phuket Excursion etc and that they can use the excel file attached to identify the list of shows. Click on the link to download.

Did you download the torrent file, open it in your torrent program, then move it? I'm not really sure either but I've got all three downloaded and I didnt have an issue.
Downloaded file (save) --> Moved it to my MBC drive --> Opened it --> Started Download. All three worked 100% for me.

Korean fans have been downloading the first two torrent files as well, I saw some posts on dcinside yesterday that referred to them.
I've only been able to download the torrents during the weekends, but I have a full week ahead of me because of holidays. Now I find myself stuck at 94% proleague file because other people completed their downloads and deleted their torrents.

With BW coming to an end soon-ish, I just started downloading so I can live in my time bubble. Thank you so much for this.
I'd seed for everyone but Canada hates torrents and the internet as a whole so I'll only be able to seed while I download this and at super slow speeds (I'll still try to seed as much as possible assuming I have data left in my month).

Just letting you guys know that my buddy GaoXi is streaming games from this pack semiregularly (any from 0 to a few times a week depending on his schedule) during evenings in North America. We've been going through MSL games chronologically are now watching games from the 2004 Cengame MSL.
My internet is so slow that I started downloading this ever since moktira started this(like, 8 months of torrenting) and I'm still at 66% in MSL and 10% in PL . BW Gods are good though, these never had 0 seeders . Keep seeding guys! I've been seeding it too while and even after I'm done DLing until MSL 2052-2053 starts . BW FOREVER!

Hmmm, not sure I can seed again for a while, I just moved house and can't seem to torrent on my new internet connection, I haven't been able to use torrents at work for a good while now either, I think after uploading terabytes upon terabytes my university killed torrents.... I'll pm one or two people who did download this and see if they can seed.
I can seed primary Mon-Fri, 6-15 GMT (my working day). Sometimes all night. Speed is capped at 300-400 KB because of our IT team. Now 3 peers connected to me (from Brazil, Canada and Netherlands)

but i guess there will be some more in the coming future, such as osl.. so i think it is better to put all of these bw related stuff into one single 2TB HDD.. bw is in its final days, and i'm going to keep as many bw things as possible, lest i forget this greatest game of all time..

Well my Hard Drive is only 500 gb but im thinking of buying another one for the sake of Broodwar. I dont know if there is an active source to download all OGN broadcasts and if not i suggest we can gather in one thread and share what we have, to eventually complete the collection.
Hello all - I am atm downloading all the MSL/proleague vods. The download is quite slow, so if there are anyone out there who can raise their upload it would be great - it is atm only downloading with 300-400 kb/s. I am sharing with an upload at 150 kb/s, but I only got a few percent of each torrent, so I dont have much to share anyway... Hope someone out there have downloaded the vods, and want to share. Thanks in advance :D

I've got the full MSL torrent. I've bumped my upload up to 150kbps (from about 50 or so) for that torrent. I should be able to sustain that 24/7, but I usually don't upload that high so we'll see what happens .
I don't have the full MBC Proleague VODs, but I'm also uploading that one at 150kbps. If anyone is capable of seeding that would be great, I'm at 77% and have been stuck around there for a while (though I do download some, so it seems that there's more to be found).

Both good and bad because the Proleague torrent is the only one I really want since the MSL torrent doesn't have the KPGA Tour vods.
I don't think it's possible to get HD version or maybe kindly asking MBCGame but that could be hard since they shut down around 2012.
i ll seed back the MSL torrent in a few hours. Proleague torrent looks definitly dead, i kep torrenting it for months and it's stuck to 4.5% all the seeds are gone ~

Well there are plenty of starcraft vods all over youtube, so I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. However, uploading all these videos and naming them would be quiet a lot of work. OGN did upload all OSL vods to their youtube channel a while ago though.

That's great you're seeding at that speed! I reduced mine to about 3Mbit/s per torrent as I'm seeding the three of them and I don't want to draw too much attention to myself at work!!

NTSC SD is 480p. However, the issue here is the bitrate. Afaik these were all riped from MBC's own website, so I think this is about as good as it's gonna get. Unless there is someone who happened to have recorded all of it themselves on a high quality DVD/HDD recorder.
Came home and found the trackers for both the OSL and MSL torrents (https://tl.net:6969/announce) keeps timing in and out while my seeding status alternates from green to red. Is that normal or is there a problem on my end?

This is correct. Same for the OSL ones Thinasy did, however OGN quality was generally higher than MBC, the early MBC ones were often have a very low bitrate and I think some of them might even be 240p....

Not sure, I have been seeding again this week and it does have a message next to tl.net:6969/announce saying "Forbidden". While I was looking at it no one was downloading but I'll leave it seeding a bit longer anyway.
Unfortunately after moving to a new PC and trying to resume the download for the "Various Other MBC Shows" I wiped all the data I had for that folder (over halfway complete). If anyone has this available and can see it that would be awesome!
I'm working on downloading the rest of the Proleague collection, and I do still have a full copy of the "MSL" torrent and can seed that if anyone is looking for it (once I make a safe backup of it so I don't delete it again :D)

Well, most countries still broadcasted even TV shows in SD pretty much untill 2000's I remember it took hours just to download a single music video from napster in the early 2000's. And I live in a country where the internet connections have always been top tier.

In case anyone is wondering, I am currently only seeding this during my work hours (weekdays 9-5GMT) so apologies if it's taking a long time to download. I can see there are a few other seeders at least for whoever is downloading at the moment.

Many are but unlisted so can be found through TLPD. It's a tricky one as nevake got two copyright strikes so a third and it would be gone, now maybe they expire so I should check that, but still, the risk is high. Sometimes vidoes can get removed in certain regions or muted because of the music at the start too, so it's a bit annoying.
