I am with LML on this one. Most of the countries should not really have any problems to decide on who to pick. There are always some who seem to know everybody, and can organise a war. But if you want it more official the easiest way would be making a thread for each country on iCCup. Give some days to apply, and then a week to let the people from that country vote manually in the thread. That way you are certain only players from the right country vote, and nobody can complain because it's the democratic way.
But besides that this sound like a great idea, nationwars were lots of fun back in the days.

that would be really cool, id love to watch a stream of this

That said, this seems like it has a lot of potential! Bandwagon gogo! yes.. Rush clan.. i know them they are really decent some of them reached rank B in iccup and sen is from rush too.. actually who is the strognest in rush clan? except sen and sobad.. SL?manner? or any other?
Sen was the best by far; Manner, Rush... all of them were B players at their peak if I remember correctly, but since they've all switched to SC2 it doesn't really matter.

Well, I'm D+ in a country that has 6 players C- or above, which makes me a noob shit because I can't fucking play. But, hellz yeah. Someone needs to lead Turkey in this.

In these cases we'll most likely have your country form a coalition with another or a few other countries, so the team will have a combined skill level to be able to compete with the rest of the countries. The point will be to have as many people who want to participate in this participate. The whole coalition scheme will come after all the planning is finished though, so there's no point in worrying about now.

Status Update: All the rules have been established. We're in the process of creating a framework (ie. teams) which will make procedures easier for you guys when you enter the event. The official banner will be up shortly, and it won't be long before we start the process of nominating/electing team leaders.
Expect an official thread about this within the next few days

so one quick question. do leaders choose their teams or does everyone join and it become a giant ladder thing.

Each country will have its own team, and each team will have its own leader. It will make cw formats much easier

We started with scratch for this event, so there will be much preparation done needed during the beginning of this season. We'll probably spend the first 2 weeks having teams organize themselves and getting ready in general. There will also be 3 weeks dedicated at the end of the season for Country Playoffs. Assuming everything goes smoothly, there will be roughly a 7 week period for team's to play against each other. If the event continues into the following season, then we won't need to do anymore preparation work and everyone can just hit the ground running.

so basically a clan war type thing at the end and a sort of ladder thing at the beginning but with teams

Personally, I think country tags ([US]username, etc) is cooler.

We will most likely have a formal tag for all iNW (iCCup Nation War) players. Something like iNW-Tenshi[CN], iNW-Tenshi[US], iNW-Tenshi[PL] etc.
|
I was not talking about the tags. :S It was a "n" little pic next to the nick. Just like the flag or the "D" "D+" "C-" YOu could not see it on the server just on the iccup page. Like this:
sGs.Cocky [N]
Where the [N] is a cool little pic of a N letter. Just like the flag is next to every nick in iccup this [N] would be next to the National Team members nick in iccup. This would appear in the rankings the team's player list and match lists. I mean everywhere the link to the nick is, the [N] is.
Don't you remember this [N] on wgtour or pgtour? It was a huge honor to wear this [N]
This little thing alone would motivate the players to do well in the ladder and tourneys to be recruited by the Nation leader and be able to wear the [N]
|
yeah i remember the N, it was also used during the early days of iccup. I agree it should be reinstated, but thats up to the iccup admins.
|
Ohhhh I see what you're talking about now sorry I haven't been around long enough to see those icons... I'll talk to the devs about it and see if they can create a specific tag
|
The little [N]

Blah i might just have got C a long time ago but hell id be willing to give this a shot
