Semifinal 2 won't be this week because the finals can't happen next sunday.
If the match was this week and Flash wins then he'd have a proleague game(vs SKT so a big ass game imo)on the same day.
which would not be fair.
|
Gogo ZerO! pls pls win kk?
I think the Ro4 matches will be separated by a week (at least) by the sounds of things. They may be thinking about the start dates of next season's prelims as well.

Would be nice if the thread could get a title change to just Ro4 Schedule.

I guess I'll be rooting for flash since I don't want another zvz finals.

Wow, aleady ro4 time for the msl, and complete silence from the osl. I wonder if they're trying to avoid overlap.

hoping for a flash/jd fiinal! would like hydra to do well, but dont want a ZvZ final, and i final without jd or f just isnt a final!

such a sick semis bracket

Why would Hydra not thumb down La Mancha? Not only do Zergs seem to have trouble, but Flash is the winning-est player on that map >.>
Tho i think most of his wins are TvTs

Hoping for flash vs zero. Wouldnt want to see another ZvZ or JvF finals

Most have some crazy ass special build for it.

yes. hydra is in trouble. i think he can win vs flash 3-2 or even 3-1 but have 2 sets on la mancha puts him on a disadvantage. it's such a terrible map for zergs and a heaven for terran.
EDIT: Oh i notice Roffles is back. How are the pink marauders? kk

JvF finals and Jaedong is going to win.
|
too far off, need matches now. JvF finals seeing the form the two beasts are in, though i wouldn't mind seeing zero versus Flash for the win.

Zero v Hydra finals pleaseeeee

Sigh gonna be so nerve wracking for jaedong vs zero. I just don't have the confidence in his zvz anymore as lately he's been losing it alot .
Here's to an epic Jaedong vs Flash finals
|
I think Hydra has the ability to take games off Flash from what I've seen of him in the series against Mind. He's a player I kinda like due to his aggressive style but I can't root for him because he's up against Flash, one of my favourite players to watch and not to mention it'd mean another ZvZ finals if he does win. I'm just hoping for a great series, hopefully Hydra will play his part and deliver some good games along with Flash.
I honestly don't know what to expect of Jaedong vs. ZerO, at first glance, it seems to be Jaedong ezpz but ZerO's just the type to play to the level of his opponent, and I'm unsure which ZerO will turn up. His series against Calm impressed me too. Again, hoping for a good series with some badass muta micro.

Hope Flash wins so we can avoid a ZvZ finals snoozefest.

Semis would be even better if the matchup was Flash vs Zero and Jaedong vs Hydra. As it is right now neither Zero nor Hydra will take more than one game.
|
Boggles my mind that there are people out there who don't want to see Flash vs. Jaedong in the final.
Who is the best player in the world? Flash Who is the player with the best chance of beating Flash in a Bo5? Jaedong Who is the best ZvT player of all time? Jaedong Who is the best TvZ player of all time? Flash Who is the player who can tie NaDa's # of finals if he reaches this MSL final? Jaedong Who are the two players one MSL gold away from the golden badge? Flash and Jaedong Who are the two players one gold away from tying NaDa's # of individual titles? Flash and Jaedong
Why would anyone want to see lesser players luckily get past the better players? If two guys are #1 and #2 in the world then I want to see them play, nevermind if they've played 10 times before or 10,000. Every time there's an FvJ final there's always at least one map which is an instant classic, with the exception of Hana Daetoo, and usually the others are won by sheer brilliance by one player or the other.
There's a really unhealthy mindset out there where people pull for every underdog to win, call any game their player doesn't win boring, call every game that isn't a 40 minute macro war boring and desire every player to get a title. If one guy is the #1 player in the world by far I'd much rather see him win every single title from now till the end of BW.
There's a good chance Flash and Jaedong could go down as the two greatest players of all time so every final they play means something and you can go back and get something extra out of it over time. If some guy makes one final, loses to F/J 1-3 and then never returns it really mean a whole lot. Who goes back and watches that Flash vs. Movie OSL final and thinks it has replay value?
People are free to enjoy the game however they please but it seems fairly unsophisticated and at least a little ignorant to flat out spurn excellence in favour of flukes, upsets or the novelty factor of new faces. Now if Hydra/Zero outplay Flash/Jaedong in their Bo5 then great, they deserve to be in the final without a doubt. But imo the, perhaps subtle, difference is that I'm pulling for great BW to be played rather than one player or another to win at all costs.
Put most simply: If you think FvJ finals are boring I'm really not sure what you're actually getting from pro BW. This isn't a soap opera.

YAY, both semis at 1800 KST!!
Based on ELO, I do not see how the underdogs can win the series against the best TvZ and ZvZ of all time in a Bo5.
Current ELO
Flash vZ 2310 vs Hydra vT 2133
Jaedong vZ 2240 vs ZerO vZ 2093
Got to be the one of the most unexpected upset in history of BW if Zero or Hydra got to the finals.
|
Thanks for this. TL calendar sucks so hard recently

Jaedong will win for my birthday.

I hope Jaedong makes it to the finals. Please, for the sake of MSL.

I'd say it's much more important for the MSL that Flash makes it. If he gets knocked out we get a ZvZ final, and you gotta agree that will suck. Flash vs Zero on the other hand would be sick.
Although I'm of course rooting for JD as well. That final would be so epic.

Flash v Zero is the final with the highest potential for multiple super-amazing games. I've seen JvF before and I'll see it again, but besides wanting to see ZerO take the next step I really just want to see a finals with the most interesting, crazy, quality games, and I feel that Flash/Zero are more likely to deliver such than a JD/Flash grindfest.
Also ZerO is a very popular player, MBC would love to see him in a finals vs. Flash. JD making it to the finals isn't necessarily a great thing for the MSL, especially considering there's already been so many JvF finals and at least a few of them have not been great. Hydra making the finals is probably the only thing they hope doesn't happen.
|
ZerO vs flash give me nerd chills because this match totally have potantial for will be like Iris vs GGplay -______-
|
I dunno if ZerO would do well in a finals against Flash... I know he has the skills to put up amazing matches against Flash, but ZerO gets so damn hesitant in the semis and I would assume that would carry over to the finals. That said, if there was any player I would accept JD losing to (after a few days to cope), it would be ZerO.
BUT! How can people not want the most hyped finals of all time? If JvF meet, it will srsly be the most hyped finals ever when you look at whats at stake for the two players. Sure it COULD end up like HD MSL, but it could also end up like Bigfile. Go back and watch Bigfile and compare JD's ZvT to his current ZvT. It's like taking a very big club (Yeah its effective and gets the job done but it bulky and rough) and making it into a sword (Now its a effective, precise, and beautiful). Ok... bad analogy, but JD's ZvT has refined the Bigfile ZvT that took god-mode Flash to game 5
Let's face it, another JvF finals it worth it, if only for the hype!
|
JvZ Best of 5 and... FvX Best of 5.
JvF finals again, eh?
+ Show Spoiler +I'm totally cool with that. Jaedong fighting!
|
Hmmm I'm hoping Flash will make it to the finals, as much I like JD and Flash I would like to see them in the finals again. As long it's not a ZvZ I'm happy.
Flash 3-1 over Hydra JD 3-2 over Zero
JD and Zero is gonna be a good set.

Is this the first time that a league has had 3/4 semifinalists come back? Jaedong, ZerO, and Hydra that is.
|
I can't wait for Flash vs Hydra - it's (possibly) going to be an amazing match. Hydra steps up his game massively for important matches. And Flash is Flash. And since I have no personal preferences, I will be able to enjoy the games no matter which player displays amazing skill and preparation.
Hydra's got a decent amount of time solely available to prepare to face Flash, and I think he's got a reasonable chance to win. Flash has the same break, too, so he'll be able to focus solely on the match as well. I hope the games are more interesting than the typical FvJ.
|

whoa, that's cool. Didn't consider that.
I found one kinda. the final 4 from CYON and UZOO had a different format with a losers bracket, so there wasn't a straight up final 4. But if we use "final 4' a bit more loosely, savior, chojja, and oov were 3 of the last 4 to play in both of em.
Edit: better one: IOPS and Ever 2005 both had goodfreind july and gorush as three of the last 4
|
JvF is always awesome. Go Flash!
But I do kind of hope ZerO can make it. I have always thought that he is the best player to never win anything.
|
Flash has to make it.. Otherwise it's going be another ZvZ finals
Flash vs Jaedong would be boring imo if they only play mindgames. I think ZerO vs Flash would definitely be more exciting and interesting to watch.

Actually, Boxer vs. Yellow would be the most hyped finals of all time, and really there have been other rivalries with more "exitement factor". I would say even the first time we had JvF finals was more hyped. Now it's a rivalry, with a lot on the line, but it's no longer anything beyond the status quo.
Seriously, Jaedong vs. Flash for like the fourth time in 2 years, or....

I know that, for people who have only followed the game very recently and really only pay attention to the very top modern players, there's probably some good hype for yet another JvF, but it's not even close to the "most hyped" finals especially considering it's something that we've come to take for granted.
|
3 zergs and 1 terran - quite advantageous for Flash. He can focus solely on TvZ. Hehe.
Jaedong or Zero in finals are both OK for me. There's one big problem if Zero advances though: he's renowned for being a choker on big stages. Not sure how he would fare on the final's stage :/
|
Jaedong is the favorite to win against zero, but honestly, you all know that ZvZ can be about luck at times. i think flash will obliterate him tho if they meet in the finals..
seems like it will be another flash vs jaedong final xD

I don't see how anybody enjoyed the finals after the power-outage, Jaedong getting 3-0'd, and the one sided Korean Air Final between them (inb4itwasn'tonesided)
the only one that was actually good was the Bigfile MSL
anyways, I want flash to win for a non-ZvZ final but there series needs to be 3-2 Flash for the epicness

That's fair though, I didn't start watching pro-BW until after sAviOr's end at the hands of Bisu, and didn't really get into it until Nate. So, though I've gone back and watched alot of the old legends (especially NaDa) it's hard to feel the hype when you didn't live it, so I guess my "of all time" doesn't stand, but I said it more out of diehard love of JD, and wanting him to win a 6th finally, but I wouldn't mind Flash winning it either.
I know alot of people aren't fans of JvF, but Jaedong and Flash are building a dynasty, and I'm glad I've been following it live, and I like the fact that their dynasty can be grown even more. Their rivalry is becoming something like the Lakers and Celtics, or the Cowboys and Steelers. Further I think this map-pool is very good, and could provide excellent standard games. Maybe not the best finals, but definitely the most hyped JvF simply because it would mean NaDa would finally have to share his throne, we'd have another Golden Badge winner (which we haven't had since Bisu won his last MSL), and it's a match between the 2 best players alive, with more Bo5 experience than any other player left in it.
As a fan of the second? generation of players this is an awesome and super hyped final possibility
|
far out. i missed RO8 because of flights, now i'm going to miss RO4 again. ARGHHHHHHHH

How is JD's condition at the moment? He's been sick recently and hasn't looked on top of his game.
Regardless, JD too clutch for Zero and Flash too neo-Bonjwa for Hydra, JvF incoming. Hoping for JD to take it and after his stomps of Flash in their past 3(?) meetings it seems he's got some momentum back on his side in their rivalry.
|
Damn, I'm casting at the EXACT SAME TIME both of these days. I wanted to see both matches hahaha
|
|
The only hype I'm having for JvF is that who ever wins it would beat nada's record of 3 OSLs and 3 MSLs with 3 OSLs 3 MSLs and(if we include) their WCG runs(Flash with a WCG Grand final win and JD with 2 WCG korea finals win.
I'm fine as long as Hydra loses.

If they lose, they arent the better players, they are the worse players. As simple as that. THe saying "may the better player win" is used for a reason. Because its always true.
