Two progamers in the Hexatron team have officially left the team for different reasons.
THe coach of the team Daniel Lee said Gundam, Cho Jung Hyun, has left the team because of various reasons. He didn't specify the exact reasons but said they really considered this a lot and made the decision after a great deal of discussing. People in Fighterforum and Pgr21 assume that some of the reasons why he is leaving the team and possible retiring as a gamer are his old age, military problems, prolonged injury of his hand, and not fitting in with the new team members. None of this except that he left the team has been proved and the reasons are only speculations.
Lee Gi Suk, Ssamjang, also left the team for business reasons. Although he tried to regain his skills as a progamer he didn't succeed and after discussing with the team he decided to leave to start his own business. He is planning to open a PC Bang in the Seoul Gang Nam area, which is probably Korea's most busiest and modern place.
For a big Hexatron fan it is sad to see these two legend leave. It was only yesterday when I was excited about the news of Liquibition and was waiting to see Gundam beat Strafe T-T. As new members join the team to strengthen it, it is sad to see legends go such as Giyom, Jinnam, Gundam, and Ssamjang. Anyways, I hope Hexatron beats SKT 1 and advances in the pro leagues and good luck to Ssamjang and Gundam wherever they go and whatever they do. Gundam and Ssamjang Fighting!!
|
Gundam wants to play without a team, that's his reason. He will continue progaming, for a while. He's practicing alot again and wants to qualify for the next Challenge League.
(SSamjang sucked horribly.)
|
so is he still in liquibition?
|
for sure, this is a step forward for Gundam. Atleast that's how he sees it. When he was in his prime (2nd in King of Kings) he didn't have a team either iirc. He's convinced he will do better now.

sharp be sure to tell everyone on those sites that I REKRUL can say that all those speculations are 100% not true and total bullshit

and yes Gundam is going to keep playing starcraft, maybe even more than before
ssamjang just couldn't get his skills back after his long break from gaming
|
everyone does
how can someone not love him
|
I really hope gundam will build himself back up to the monster he used to be
|
O its good to hear that he will continue progaming and he is in good relations with the team. But why is he leaving the team? I really like him and it would be great to have him on Hexatron. Why would he want to be not on a team? He won't get paid, won't have the opportunity to participate in team leagues, might have difficulty finding practice partners..Why WHy WHy WHY~~
|
well, rekrul could tell. but probably this will become just a 10page thread full with weird speculations

Okay guys, my bags are packed.. I'm ready to fill Gundam's spot on hexatron. Hurry up and send me the ticket already...

I am really sorry to see SSamjang go. I "grew up" on a game betweem him and somebody on rivalary - first vod I ever saw. In those times he defeated players like Boxer, TheMarine, IntoTheRain and Garimto. He will always remain a top player in my mind. As for Gundam, I am not sure about him leaving hexatron, but if he thinks it's the best way for him to grow in BW and other things ... GL man!! I like people who can make difficult decisions....
|
What's Hexatron's lineup looking like now?
Seems to me like the team's being gutted.

Best wishes to Gundam. An excellent gamer and a very cool person.

Maybe give him time to accutally do something. You think anyone can just take a flight down to Korea and own up the pro and semi pro players who probably have invested more time in one year of theire gaming. Than most of us ever will in an entire lifetime.
Give him some time, and hopefully we will se something good come out of it.

jelka will take it all in 2005! s.g fighting!
uh ok so maybe jelka left s.g... but s.g fighting!

Man this is sad, I didn't even really follow or like these guys. But when any progamer retires, even the ones I hate, I will wish them luck in the future and thank them for the great matches they gave us.

That sucks. Who'd you beat before you went against Reach?

I can't recall the opponent, but I think that was the one, where Rek lost his nat in the 3rd game and all of the Hexatron were like nooooo, but then he recalled a shitload of units in the other guys main :D Sounded like great fun

reach did some special build, i remember rek was impressed :O

hm Rekrul just one question does Elky still play a lot or enough?

That was first game vs. Reach I think, second game was something like Goon vs. Goon, and Reach was really pushing them, but Rek defended it, until he somehow made his units attack a non-damaged goon, instead of the damaged ones and Reach broke through T_T

What is it about a Korean Pro Team that gets blame for stifling many players? Boxer has left teams saying being on the team made him worse. I think it was KTF (I could be mistaken) that gathered many top players together at one point only to see them mostly decline for some time after becoming teammates. Now we see Gundam believing he will do better without a team! What is it about not being on certain teams that turns out better for these pros?

Boxer left )IS( after his loss to Reach, saying they didn't get him good enough toss practice partners to prepare for his matches.
No one here knows Gundam's reason for leaving, except probably Rek and Leg. If he did, indeed, leave Hex for that, it would probably go with the thinking of, "I did better without a team before, surely, I will do better this time."
|
Exactly how good *is* Assem these days? It it even probable for him to make any leauges in the future?

I am not convinced Gundam's thinking is that simple ... maybe that is his ultimate conclusion, but he must have some reasons or factors in mind. We can't know for now unless Rekrul tells us! We know Boxer left a team in the past due to a lack of practice partners. Now, on the other side of the coin: SickofLife: Do you think that Yellow's slump, or any other slump in recent memory, had anything to do with teams? I believe there is a particular former underachieving team that was full of stars at one point, but I just can't remember it.

Sad to see Gundam move on, i always thought he had a tight relationship with Hexatron managers. I hope he can make a strong comeback and perform well in the leagues

Hahaha. That's one of the reasons Boxer has made millions of people hate him for years. It seemed like that the whole team was for just emperor Boxer
|
Boxer deserves to have a whole team just for him. :-)
|
Leg@festerscomp - A lot of the "leaving teams for no practice partners" and other such lame excuses are all just fake reasons for people to leave teams the easy way and to make it seem like its for a smaller reason thats whats really going on under the surface.
Dont beleive everything you here!~

I don't know about Yellow's slump, but Boxer's, it would almost seem, has something to do with teammates.
SK T1 Z: ZergLee, Mumyung T: Boxer, ILoveoov, Kos P: Kingdom, IntoTheRainbow, Terato
Those would be Boxer's current teammates. His TvZ is still good, but not what it used to be. That could be due to a change in game dynamics (I can't think of the other word, but change in styles of the game), but I don't know. His TvT should be really good, and it would seem it is. He beat Sync, and Nada recently in TvT. His TvP, however, seems to be lacking, and that could be due to practice partners. Kingdom and Terato are good toss players, but they aren't the top players. (I think that'd probably still go to Reach and rA as far as top tosses go) Back to TvZ. I don't know much about ZergLee, but I do know that Mumyung is terrible. Of course, Mumyungs game can improve off of Boxer and OOv, but I don't know how much theirs can off of his.
I think part of the problem would be practice partners, but for the oldschoolers, like Boxer and Yellow (who is owning it up right now), it'd probably be more the change of the game.
|
so you're saying Kingdom isnt Top P player ? aha so how much diffrence do you think there is between the 3 best protoss players, wich kingdom easily is ?
|
Not really. Kingdom is good, but nowehere near nal_ra and reach.Besides, kingdom is more predictable.

That's just wrong discounting Kingdom.
Kingdom, Reach, and Ra are at a level of their own. No other toss comes near their level.

While Ra/Reach are above Kingdom, the skill gap is pretty small... Kingdom is very easily the third best Protoss at the moment, all three being way above everyone else.
TvP was always Boxer's worst mu anyways.

According to the Kespa Ranking Kingdom is 4th and Reach is 7th. It's not everything yeah but..
