Flash during G20 Introductory video shoot (Photo provided by KT Rolster)
The 'Ultimate Weapon' Flash made an appearance on Seoul G20 Conference advertisement video.
The G20 advertisement video, in which Flash appeared, was made to introduce the Seoul G20 Conference. The video was shown to over 4000 media personnels who came from around the world at G20 Press Centre.
The G20 advertisement video also features the likes of Yuna-Kim (Figure skater) and Edward Kwon (Chef), those who represent Korea in their own field of profession. It showed footages of Flash's tournament wins and practice sesions, lasting roughly 20 seconds.
Flash stated that 'It was an honor to take a part in a video that introduces Korea' and 'Wish it would become an opportunity to have E-sports known around the world'
sometimes I forget exactly how awesome korean esports is in general until I read a story like this. it really is just an a whole other level compared to the rest of the world in terms of not only skill but prestige, respect, and professionalism as well. the rest of the world just cant compete with how awesome korean culture is in this regard.

FUCK my 1500th post.
LOL Congrats on 1500th post and Happy birthday
On topic: Kinda funny how they had a progamer introducing Korea, but I don't think the politics involved will take it negatively or positively. As a side note, does anyone have a link to the video possibly? xD
Somehow I suspect this was KeSPA pulling the strings to make GOM/Blizz look bad in trying to take down BW, and make it less likely for them to win in court.
Not that I really mind, as long as I get to keep watching BW..

More like they are making BW look so good that GOM/Blizz look bad etc, but lets not go there in this thread~
Embrace Lee Young Ho.

Sooooo goooood! Flash, the Ultimate Weapon, Hwaiting! Soon, the world will tremble under your feet as you spread your e-sports kingdom over and beyond... yeah!
Its things like this that confuse me as to how popular BW is in Korea.
On one hand we have Flash being put in promotional videos, multimilion dollar lawsuits, and huge prize pools for OSL/MSL winners.
Onthe other hand we have < 100 people who go to MBC proleauge matches, and a hite entus team with only 147 folowers on twitter, somthing that is supposedly popular in Korea. http://twitter.com/ENTUS_Progaming
edit: I bet when people saw this they thought that the film was sped up to make flash's fingers look like they were fast. At least I did for a split second.

Maybe most of the fans prefer to watch from TV at home or through online streaming. Some of the GSL VODs have millions of views from South Korea. Since live events you watch the game via a big screen, there isn't a big difference from watching at home, unlike traditional sports.

It's a TV channel, most pple watch it at home. And twitter is hardly an indication of popularity. You shld surf Daum or Dcinside.
korea is so awesome! and yeah, i believe boxer wouldn't have wanted it any other way. i think that for him, the success of esports was always far more important than his individual popularity.
and when everything is said and done, everyone will always be tracing the origin of esports back to boxer anyway.
JD wins it all. He conquers impossible odds fighting tier 3 vs tier 1 terran. His furious and gloriously violent games electrifies everyone. He is a BEAST! He is the real BONJWA. He is the BEST. EVER.
Really nice video , it had that really epic feeling whilst Flashs hand where hammering the keyboard at a speed wich probably transcends that of light itself :D
Let's not derail this into a Flash vs JD thread. They are both great masters of the game of starcraft and in this case it does not really matter much which one was featured. I'm not a very big fan of Flash but seeing such recognition for BW progaming makes me smile.

Flash makes more sense. He's the current champion and just won both the OSL and MSL against Jaedong in the finals.

It is said, that the zerg is the strongest race if you imagine an "ideal game"
I even made a joke story of it: Jaedong did following - switched races to Terran in an OSL (where he lost 2-3 TvT in semifinal to Flash), then to Protoss in the next OSL (where he won 3-0 with nexus-gateway-nexus build vs. Flash, LOL), both to earn the "features" the other races have to integrate it into zerg race's play. Then he suddenly said that after his last Starleague win (which was offrace lol) he is now leaving proscene. All went O_o, and next year Flash came up as strong as before, killing everyone, producing new brilliant builds etc...
And then after a year he received an invitation to a match vs.. Starcraft Machine! It was a computer client program (not the computer in SC, it couldn't see your units), which was programmed to make perfect decisions and found out that he always won with zerg. So Flash came and fought it but lost 0-4 in a bo7. He became so devastated especially when he saw that one of the masterminds of this machine was Jaedong =)). Then he decided - oh I thought that I was a machine, but now Zerg is strongest race officially. And I switch to zerg.
Then he trained ZvZ 12343204589230948520 times with Jaedong, his long-time-ago practice partner, eager to show that he is still the most precise, most analytically-gifted one, even compared to a machine.
On his next match vs. machine, machine crashed. :D
That's it. =)))
BTW I actually believe Zerg is the strongest race overall, but you need enormous multitask to make it so. Mostly because it has the most imbalanced, with proper usage, spells - plague and swarm - both them no one can evade. Mines you can evade, storms you can dodge but not plague/swarm. And the most mobile production makes it easy to adapt to any opponent unit combo switches. But this all, and protection from the all harass that you "can evade" (but will likely not) is just TOOOOOO hard.
But look, before Boxer no one thought that one can have such micro. Before Flash no one thought that one's multitasking and game sense might be so precise.
And when the Zerg possibly reigns, no one too will believe this is possible. At first. =)

And... Jaedong fans will continue to be the sole reason I find myself unable to root for the dong.
Lol, how nice. I am Jaedong's fan too. But I don't 1) think that he's bonjwa and flash not (results, finally, are above all) 2) don't think he's the sole Zerg race's leader and innovator - there are more to come, btw Zerg's nature is HiveMind, did you know?
please don't judge all by one or two -___- flash is not ideal too. At least with the fact that he'd began to show some "star sickness" and impoliteness, as if all but him were complete bullshit and ashes before his glorious feet. LOL, I know he's a champion, but that's a bit too impolite =\
Zerg race needs a smart, hard working and deeply understanding the game leaders, those who can use its advantage to the fullest. And theoretically, Zerg has it, this advantage. As I've said, if we witness that, we will think "omg how were we silly not to believe its possible" That happened with Flash, and Boxer... so... now it can some time happen again.
BTW, do you think that watching the game dominated by one player is interesting? No I think I don't. =\ So that's the deep reason for anyone to see some serious preparations to take down Flash and outplay him by the brains, ideas, precision, anything.

I don't get this part, I don't see Flash being impolite or ignorant at all recently, he is just as normal as always. What are your evidents ?

Actually Flash is very gm, always has been. I like how he does one ceremony (not even very disrespectful or anything) and haters take it as a reason to pick up their pitchforks and torches.
I was watching a movie and guess who was advertised on my screen for like 30 seconds before the movie even started LEE YOUNG HO.
I was like what the fuck. I was with my girlfriend and her best friend and they were laughing at him because he was posing, but I should of slapped them for laughing at the "Godline"

Wtf? Seriously dude, take your trolling bullshit elsewhere.
Congratz to God Young Ho for being a representative for his country! They couldn't have chosen a better player for this job.

The theme of the video is "Going the distance", it hasn't really got anything to do with fanservice. Not a single player right now fits that theme besides Flash, a player who basically transcended any precious notions of Brood War success by landing himself in every single final (MSL, OSL, Proleague, WCG) since his resurgence in the EVER OSL.
Yellow? Yeah losing 5 finals is certainly "going the distance" I guess.

Ah, that makes more sense. Well, I was wrong then. Flash is a perfect fit here.
Flash now is like an opening to a possible new era of Starcraft. I really don't like calling him the "last generation" - I don't think it DESERVES to be the last. Because he had introduced the new principles of the game.
It's same like once happened in football, when someone (i'm not sure if it was Lobanovsky or someone else) had introduced the "total football", where game was held on the whole field, and all was expanded from mere "defenders" and "strikers" to the battle at the whole field, varying tactics at each minute and second adapting to the current needs.
Flash opens the era of "total Starcraft". It looks very very similar to the above.
And that's a true hype to him, not the simple fanboy cries "omg flash pwns all omg omg hes cool". I'm not cheering for him anywhere, but anyone has to accept his contribution (in fact revolution) in the game.
P.S.: There's not without reason that Russian SC community dubbed him "the true macro terran". Because it's he who has shown what macro is. It's not making fuckkilotons of workers, CCs and units. It's that "total Starcraft" concept.

NOW again to fanboy mode. To those who say Flash is the best, even a legend, remember JD is aka THE LEGEND KILLER! 2010 might have slipped away, but its a new season baby. THE BEAST RETURNS!!!
Oh, why hate him? Seriously, it can do nothing but give him another portion of strength.
He hasn't to be hated, he has to be respected and... lets say, understood. His play is perfectly understandable, I'm sure in it. And I'm sure that instead of zomg zomg flash is monster Jaedong, Stork, Bisu sit and analyze his game. It's only a matter of who is ahead in that analysis.
BTW, "L" is good name for him :D And I sense the similar mind duel as in the story where that "L" came from ^_^
