I wanted to see a statistics list that included more than just who has the most titles. So I dug up a few statistics up that show long-term moderate individual league success. Some people, like me, really love statistics so this might appeal to them. First the basic for those that do not know:
Most OSL and MSL wins:
1. NaDa 6 + Show Spoiler +
Now let's sort it by finals appearances, so golds and silvers are equal. The numbers next to the players are finals appearances, golds, and silvers in both the OSL and MSL.
1. NaDa 10 6 4 + Show Spoiler +
Next we take a look at the most Semi-final (Ro4) appearances across both the OSL and MSL. The list has identical participants (besides GoodFriend), albeit in different order. This means that there are really no kings of semi-finals like there are kings of silver.
1. NaDa 11 + Show Spoiler +
Finally, a list of the most Ro16 appearances in the OSL. This shows the long term success of many players, even if they never graced the top 4 very often.
1. BoxeR 13 1. Stork 13 (14) 3. YellOw 11 3. NaDa 11 3. July 11 6. Reach 10 6. Flash 10(11) 8. Rock 9 8. Bisu 9 10. XellOs 8 10. GGPlay 8 12. ChoJJa 7 12. Gorush 7 12. JJu 7 12. Goodfriend 7 12. YellOw[ArnC] 7 12. Hwasin 7 18. Jaedong 6(7)
Other OSL Ro16 total appearances, may or may not the only ones with that amount: + Show Spoiler +
Total MSL Ro16 appearances:
1. NaDa 15 2. ChoJJa 11 2. XellOs 11 2. Nal_rA 11 5. Hwasin 10 6. BoxeR 9 6. iloveoov 9 6. sAviOr 9 9. YellOw 8 9. Jaedong 8 11. TheMarine 7 11. Zeus 7 11. JJu 7 11. Light 7 11. Flash 7
Other MSL Ro16 total appearances, may or may not the only ones with that amount: + Show Spoiler +
Parenthesis is what the total will look like in a month for players that have a guaranteed seed into the Ro16. Stork will soon have the most OSL Ro16 appearances, and will have appeared in 14 of 30 total OSLs. Also interesting is the lack of iloveoov and savior in the OSL, who are more known for their MSL dominance. Rock, with an astonishing 9 OSL appearances, never made a single semi-final.
Errors are possible, of course. If you catch any, let me know. I hope to be the first to have done an OSL Ro16 appearances list, but if there is another oh well, I couldn't find it.

Nada, Jaedong, Flash

Good stuff, shows more than just the usual bonjwa list and "kings of silver." TY
|
Heh it's funny that JD and Flash have both the same number of titles, and also the same amount of final appearances.
Anyway, yay NADA =)

Oops, fixed the Flash finals. He has 2 less silvers than JD.
|
Nada is still indisputably the most successful progamer in terms of titles, but he'll probably be overthrown very soon, assuming Flash and Jaedong's careers don't terminate prematurely due to the whole Blizzard/KeSPA ordeal...
|
chojja is like the unsung hero of zerg, he actually was #1 on kespa for 4 months
|
YellOw always makes me sad. Clearly the best player without a title
|
|
poor stork... he's such a good player, but just can never win when it counts. Also its interesting to note that all the players who have won the most medals are considered Bonjwas except Jaedong.

OMG Rock and his Ro16 appearances. Ugh

Coulda done without savior. I thought for sure someone had put together this information together before? Maybe it was just outdated? Anyway thanks for compiling an updated list.

Flash is just starting to creep up there, and start hitting the nada boxer level ^^

Jaedong does kind of stand out, but I'm also sure that everyone are very aware that Jaedong would most likely be considered the strongest Bonjwa of them all if his period of dominance didn't happen to coincide with Flash. If one wants to be like that one could say that the Bonjwas are Boxer + the players that have been more succesful than him
Statistics like these are always fun, an update with MSL later on would be swell.

Conclusion: NaDa is a total beast. And he has a hot body.

excellent post, thanks for sharing

Interesting Bisu has so few MSL Ro16 appearances, considering he is one of only a few players who won the MSL 3 times.
|
Did they used to give out bronze for tournaments? If so why did they stop it?

I think it used to be that Bronze would get a seed into the next OSL, but 4th wouldn't. Then they changed it so that 4th would get a seed as well, so they just got rid of the 3/4th place match because they wouldn't matter.

Hwasin's 17 ro16 appearance altogether in both leagues... and not a single semi, lol.

Rock tied with Bisu for OSL RO16 appearances just blew my mind.
|
Aaaaagh poor yellow 0-5 in finals ;;.
|
Jaedong making the finals 9 times in 10 Ro4 appearances is absolutely incredible, with his beatdowns at the hands of Flash people shouldn't be too quick to forget what an incredible and clutch winner this guy was.
In my mind Jaedong should be a bonjwa in the same sense that NaDa is: looking back and applying it retroactively when you are forced to by the sheer incredible stats and number of times he won. Dominance shouldn't only be defined as winning everything in a short space of time. If you keep coming back to win and keep coming back to win and keep coming back to win then in a way you have dominated too imo.
It's one thing to lose entirely but if you have a crazy amount of golds and then even your losses mean you keep adding silvers that doesn't take away from your career's accomplishments: it adds to it, albeit it in a lesser way than if any of those were golds.
YellOw's Ro4 and Ro16 stats are just depressing ;_; Crazy to see Bisu has been in more OSL Ro16s than MSL considering the guy had a run of three finals so it seemed like MSL was the BSL for a while. ChoJJa, Nal_rA and Stork really have a better body of work behind them that their titles would suggest.
BTW props for this thread, I really enjoyed reading it and seeing it all laid out like that.

Could be remembering wrong but didn't he lose to 3-2 to Savior in the semis of the Bisu>Savior MSL?

It seems Yellow is reversed Iloveoov, at least when considering golds statistics.

Protoss representation is very, VERY sad.

I agree. If they had of come up with the Bonjwa idea for Flash, and then retrospectively applied it to past greats, Jaedong would have definitely made the list.
The only reason it took so long for a Bonjwa to be crowned post Savior was that the idea of it came to mean so much more than was originally envisioned, it could only be presently applied when someone ended up winning virtually everything, like Flash had to do.

Yes, you are correct

No one else thinks it's funny that "the easiest race" takes up the bottom half of s-class players and representation?

Yes, you can seed all 4 players but the 3rd place match is a bo5 with very high calibre players so why don't you show it? It had some good sets in the past and especially with all those boring finals we had in the past one and a half years it would make perfect sense.

It's only "easy" at lower levels
Once you get to be progamer level, it doesn't matter lol
Those were some interesting stats Thanks for compiling and sharing

I actually want him to take a MSL this year and it will be against BISU! It would been cool if Stork got revenge against Flash and Jaedong for the OSL that they took from him as well. Stork for Golden Mouse!

Unless I am mistaken but Stork was a MSL finalist wasn't he? O_o
|
Indeed he was. He also made the semi-finals on another occasion. But he's had far, far more success in the OSL (his only gold, 2 of his 3 silvers, 5 of his 7 semis, 13 of his 18 Ro16s, etc).

Yellow: :[[ The train knew what's up. Bisu: You need an OSL win. Jaedong: Win 1 more OSL plsssss so I can love you equally as much as Nada Nada: <33
