what is the purpose of filing for retirement? in the past, it seemed like progamers who wanted to quit just simply stopped playing... is that correct? doesn't this super strongly indicate that these players intend to play in the non-kespa sanctioned sc2 tourneys?

They signed legal contracts forbidding them from competing in non-kespa approved events, etc. I'm sure theres a thread on the terms of the contracts somewhere.

You know, I think Flash should go to SC2 so that we don't have to see him win anything anymore.A
Also, that would stop the flow of pros to SC2 because they'd know they don't have a damn chance.
