3 vs 4 Winner vs 2 Winner vs 1
Winner of Div A vs Winner of Div B?
or is it just a normal Ro8 with no seeding?

normal ro8 with seeding (ie 1v4, 2v3)

Yay we get to keep playing n_n I think

current standings + Show Spoiler +Div A: 4-0 MIT 3-1 CMU 3-2 Rutgers University 3-2 PA 1-3 University of Ottawa 0-4 College Edouard Montpetit
Div B: 3-0 Mt. San Antonio College 3-1 Georgia Tech 1-1 Northern Illinois University 1-1 University of Texas at Austin 1-2 CA+CO 1-2 University of North Texas 0-3 University of Chicago
I propose that in Div A we set up the playoffs like this: MIT vs CMU __\ Rutgers vs PA / and skip playing the MIT vs CMU regular season match. Div A teams: is this ok?
Div B is more complicated since there have been so many unplayed matches. I don't think anyone would object to saying that San Antonio and Georgia Tech should be on opposite sides of the playoff bracket. The other two teams are more complicated.
So I'm wondering if NIU, Austin, CA+CO, and UNT could come to an agreement that involves not playing all of the remaining matches in order to determine who gets the remaining 2 playoff spots. Just looking at the matches played so far I would hazard that they should go to CA+CO (victory over UNT, losses are to San Antonio and Georgia Tech) and Austin (victory over UNT, loss to San Antonio). Div B teams: your thoughts?

also if there is enough interest for some part of the playoffs to be streamed / casted we can do that
1) Is there any interest in having some part of the playoffs be streamed / casted? 2) Is anyone able to stream and/or cast some part of the playoffs?

btw MIT isn't 4-0, they are 4-1, they lost to us (PA).

I'm okay with the proposition for A. I would be okay with casting/streaming, but I know for a fact that some matches won't be done live because of lag/latency issues, at least for Rutgers.
|
Shouldn't MIT play PA first in playoffs - and CMU play Rutgers, since MIT is #1 and CMU is #2 (and Rutgers beat PA)? Depends on how you believe brackets should be folded.
|
Wait, why would MIT vs CMU be a playoff match to begin with?
From a seeding point of view that makes no sense.
|
basically it is just so we can move ahead one week by making the MIT vs CMU regular season match a playoff match instead. maybe that seeding setup does not match up with each team's record but my thinking is as follows: CMU is not actually a good team and if we were to play MIT we would lose which would result in MIT as the 1 seed and Rutgers, PA, and CMU in a three way tie for 2nd and my resolution of that tie would be to say that CMU is not actually a good team and to give us the 4 seed... which would result in the proposed bracket. hopefully not pissing off my teammates lol
|
What. I AM SUPER PISSED OFF. (Not really)
It's 6 team, so assuming CMU gets 4 seed: Seed - Team 1 MIT 2 Rutgers 3 PA 4 CMU 5 UO(OU?) 6 CEM
Logically 1 and 2 get Byes, and then 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5, then 1 plays the lower seed of the two winners and 2 plays the higher seed of the two winners.
It's like how the NFL works...
|
uh only 4 teams make playoffs

here is a repost of this week's match schedule: CMU vs MIT UNT vs Georgia Tech CA+CO vs NIU San Antonio vs Chicago Austin *bye*
if Rutgers and PA play each other in a playoff match then MIT vs CMU will be counted as a playoff match, otherwise it will not be incidentally if you two aren't going to play each other this would be a great week for a Rutgers vs Ottawa grudgematch
hopefully division B teams have not disappeared on us >__>
|
So Rutgers is not playing anyone this week, right?
|
Haven't disappeared, we were in talks of playing NIU, but I stopped trying to schedule a match because there is a lot of miscommunication. UNT asked if we want to take the win because they couldn't show up by the scheduled time, but I reconsidered since I wouldn't want to take a free win off a team when we could just reschedule (hopefully once).

Ottawa lost against CEM because I was the only player to show up.
Well that was a cool season

austin-gtech 3-0 sorry we have so many unplayed matches, a lot of the coordinators aren't responding. Hopefully they will reply soon so we can arrange our remaining matches. Actually, we only have one unplayed match with Chicago. We lost to NIU, and I can't remember if we played CA+CO. I think we did, I'm probably just forgetful. Could you ask the other coordinator?
