Jaedong, "After winning so much, I feel luck is also on my side""I'm a bit worried because it's the first time I'm managing so much free time"![[image loading]](http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/5905/jaedong.jpg)
- You beat Kal again. ▲ The game played out a bit differently than I thought it would so it became difficult. I thought I was going to lose but luck was on my side in one crucial moment. I feel my opponent made a small error. Somehow… I just won (laughs). When I finally won, I thought about our head-to-head record. Knowing I was ahead in head-to-heads, I thought at that moment that luck seemed to be on my side. Today wasn’t a favorable game for me.
- You’ve beaten Kal 10 times in a row now. ▲ He’s someone I’ve played since a long time ago so I don’t regard the fact that I’m on a 10 win streak against him very highly. Kal is a very strong player and I just made sure not to lose focus. There’s a game next week as well so if I just put my all in practicing for each game, I believe I’ll continue to win. I feel like since I’m on a win streak, even games against my favor give me chances to come back. It’s kind of interesting.
- You didn’t catch the units that came out through his 6 oclock base. ▲ If I had realized that sooner and blocked it, I could’ve won a lot earlier. When all his units came out toward the center, it became a very critical situation. I was really regretful about this looking back.
- Why do you think you were able to come back and win? ▲ It was an extremely unfavorable situation. If his units had just advanced forward, I wouldn’t have been able to block him. However, I tried my hardest to stall my opponent from being able to do that. I knew I just had to gain some time. If my expansion at 3 was discovered a bit earlier, I think that would’ve made things harder as well, but in this regard I think I was lucky too.
- You won the game after pushing into his nat/main. ▲ While most of Kal’s units were together in one place, his expos were widely dispersed. I saw him send a lot of units to his 7 oclock. When we fought, his high templars used up their storm and I saw he combined them to create archons. Because of this, I thought if I pressured his nat, I would be able to push through using my defiler strength. I just focused on that play alone.
- You’re now at an advantageous position in advancing to the Ro8. ▲ Because my schedule isn’t as intense lately, I feel a lot more comfortable. I was able to prepare easily and sufficiently for today’s match. Next week I also have a lot of time so I don’t think there will be any problems. However, because this is the first time I’m managing so much free time, I am a bit worried. I’m preparing so leisurely, and it feels like it’s been such a long time since I’ve come to a stadium. I think I’ll feel the same thing next week as well. Because I’m the type of player whose gameplay gets smoother the busier the schedule is, I’ll have to work hard to control this.
- Last words you want to say? ▲ On Monday next week, our former teammate Young hyung is going to the army. I plan on meeting him today. I wanted to wish him the best of luck.

Stats, "I'm confident I will be able to advance to the Ro8""If I get to the Ro8, I want to be greedy"![[image loading]](http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/4878/statsys.jpg)
- You’re at a more likely spot to get to the Ro8 now. ▲ I personally think the maps for sets 2 and 3 are doable. I knew if I won today, I’d be at a better position to advance to the Ro8. I’m confident I will be able to do so.
- Did you practice comfortably? ▲ I was spending time a bit too comfortably and ending up cramming towards the end (laughs). Yesterday I concentrated and practiced hard. I played around until Thursday and ended up cramming practice in.
- Calm pressured you with hydras and lings. ▲ It’s a play I sort of anticipated. Because it’s something I expected, I was able to counter well and the rest of the game played out smoothly after that.
- On what basis did you anticipate your opponent’s play? ▲ Once my opponent is decided, I watch not only my opponent’s VODs but his teammates VODs who are the same race as him as well. By doing that, I think I’m able to predict my opponent’s plays to a certain degree.
- Violet and Flash are about to play. ▲ Most people probably expect Flash to win. However, I think it’s 50/50. Violet hyung is also really good so I’m not sure who’s going to win.
- You’ve been to the Ro8 once in your first season in the MSL. ▲ If I’m able to get to the Ro8 this season, I want to be greedy. I want to advance to the semis. However, there are so many great players I know this will be difficult… But still, I’ll practice hard.
- How do you plan on preparing for the 2nd and 3rd set? ▲ Today, so many of our team’s fans came. I played feeling very nervous. It’s such a relief I won (laughs). I’ll just practice for the 2nd and 3rd set the way I normally do. I’ll prepare like it’s the middle of the proleague season.
- Last words you want to say? ▲ I want to thank rOo, HoeJJa hyung, FireFist hyung, and 815 hyung for practicing with me. Violet hyung and Tempest hyung gave me a lot of advice. I had a lot of trouble with Polaris Rhapsody before but they all helped me so much.

fOrGG, "This time I want to get to the finals""If I get to the Ro8, I think I'll end up playing EffOrt"![[image loading]](http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/5490/forggn.jpg)
- Your feelings on winning? ▲ During practice I hardly lost so I came today thinking I’d definitely win. In the remaining two sets, if I just don’t lose focus, I believe I can win 2:0.
- How good was your record doing practice? ▲ I barely lost. If I played 10 games, I lost around 1 of those games. Today, I just planned on adjusting according to how my opponent decided to play. I focused on fundamentals during practice.
- You were a bit shaken by mutalisks. ▲ I used a build that was a bit susceptible to mutalisks. But if you can defend against them, it’s a build that will give you a definite win. I believed I would be able to hold them off and I never once thought that I was in an unfavorable position.
- After advancing to the Ro8 during the Lost Saga MSL, you haven’t been able to get so far since. ▲ Practice has been going well lately and I also played a zerg player. If I advance to the Ro8 I feel like I’ll meet a zerg player. This time, I want to get to the finals.
- It seems you’ve already thought about the matches to take place in the Ro8. ▲ I haven’t completely thought it out but I have a general idea in my head. I think I’ll end up playing EffOrt. Since it’s another zerg player, I’m okay with that.
- The next set is Violet vs. Flash. ▲ When two teammates play one another the player with the slight advantage usually wins. However it’s Flash, so I’m not sure. Though I want to say Violet hyung is at the advantage, Flash is so good so I’d say it’s 50/50. It’s a match that doesn’t have a decisive winner.
- Your schedule must be free lately – how are you practicing? ▲ Though I did concentrate hard in practicing for the MSL, I’m also practicing in advance for proleague. Though our opponent team hasn’t been decided yet, I’m still practicing to a certain extent.
- Your mindset towards the upcoming 2nd and 3rd set? ▲ Next week, I’ll win the remaining game and definitely advance to the Ro8. I want to say thank you to 815 hyung, HoeJJa hyung, and rOo for practicing with me. I hope they help me even more next week (laughs).

Flash, "Team-kill games are always entirely a mind game""I hope the player who eventually wins, wins the entire MSL"![[image loading]](http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/8896/flashqr.jpg)
- You won in a team-kill game. ▲ In a team-kill game, it really is entirely a mind game. He’s a teammate I share a room with so it was really hard. Though I won today’s set, I hope whoever the winner is next week takes the entire MSL this season.
- When it was decided that you’d have to play your teammate how’d you feel? ▲ I thought, does he want to play me? (laughs). In Violet hyung’s position, since he’s protoss, he probably wanted to play me rather than EffOrt. I just thought there was nothing I could do about it and that I’d have to try my hardest to win.
- How did you practice? ▲ I did as much as I could. When it’s a team-kill match, it’s hard to practice a lot. Violet hyung sits right behind me. We just practiced a bit whenever the other person wasn’t there. I’m not sure who practiced more (laughs).
- You blocked Violet’s strategy well. ▲ I had a good feeling about it (laughs).
- So you have to practice a bit more now? ▲ I just think if I don’t think too much about it and play comfortably, it’ll work out. We’ll just have to practice when the other person isn’t there.
- Even after advancing to the Ro8, it’s likely you’ll have to do another team-kill… ▲ Nothing can be done about that (laughs). For some reason I have a feeling it will happen again, but if it does, I’ll play wholeheartedly to win.
- How are you practicing lately? ▲ I’m practicing hard as always. Because I’ve recently been in a slight slump, I’ve basically sold my life to practice. I have a feeling things will get better though. Because I’m also feeling at peace lately, I have a feeling things will work out well.
- Your thoughts on the proleague playoffs? ▲ Honestly, I think SK Telecom is at an advantage. The first match is so important, and they won today so overwhelmingly. If WeMade had shown that they were level with SK Telecom a bit more it would’ve been better but now I think SK Telecom is at a more advantageous position to advance. I’m looking forward to who will advance. Each time a team advances, I get a bit nervous. I’m curious as to who we’ll have to play against as well as a bit nervous in anticipation.
- Last words you want to say? ▲ My parents always prepare healthy food for me. Last year I qualified for both league finals and I feel like I it off of the strength I got from the ginseng they gave me. This year, they also bought me a lot of things good for my health. I feel I’ll be able to do well with little to no problems. Every time I stop by my house, my parents always tell me I’m doing a good job (laughs).

Thanks Smix! Poor Kal must be crushed right now.
|
I wouldnt want forgg vs Effort ;x
|
Smix is awesome. 50/50 Violet / Flash. Sounds fun.
|
Haha, Stats and fOrGG are so good mannered. Everyone knows, including Violet himself, that Flash versus Violet isn't 50/50.
|
poor Kal he can never beat jaedong and he gets paired with him a lot.. fOrGG hell yeah!!! calm just clamped up.. I hope stats can get further on in this MSL..
|
With this win, Jaedong took the #1 vP ELO Peak from Flash and is now at 2322

I have said it before the only thing that stops that vP beast is Bisu, Stork and Rock in their prime... everyone else pffff jaedong all the way..
|
Since it’s another zerg player, I’m okay with that. It seems that Starleagues are for ForGG to take as long as he runs into Zerg.

he beat Kal and Flash in bo5s when he won Arena

Lol both Stats and ForGG giving violet a 50% chance vs Flash. Is this because they're trying to be nice? Flash's slump? Or is it just more proof of PvT imba
|
There’s a game next week as well so if I just put my all in practicing for each game, I believe I’ll continue to win.
There's just a game next week, not two. Might be different in the original Korean, but in this translation it sounds like Jaedong doesn't anticipate going to round three at all...

They are probably trying to be nice to Violet . They know he stands no chance against the beast that is Flash . And they want to sound confident against a future Flash encounter .

Just re-checked - he uses singular 'game' but it was a general sounding statement so it could be read both ways... but he'll show us for sure next week haha.

Thanks for the translation!
fOrGG ▲ When two teammates play one another it often happens that the unexpected player wins.
lol, fOrGG knows best.

This was an error in translation - he actually said "When two teammates play one another, the player with the slight advantage usually wins". He was implying that he thinks Violet is at the advantage
Fixed OP as well

Ugh, my alarm went off at 3:30am but I couldn't pull myself out of bed to make it for Jaedong v Kal. And then I had the worst nightmare ever.
I dreamed Jaedong lost. It was terrible.

Free? hes beaten Jaedong in multiple bo3s and random games heres and there. Im sure the record is in Free's favor as well.

I feel KT is gonna have the same situation as hite in the Bacchus OSL. A stacked bracket with teamkillz
And Smix, you're cute :3
|
Gah I missed the game with Flash :'<. Anyhowz, really glad he won! Flash fighting!
|
i still can't believe that...
how did he honestly give Violet a 50% chance?? I would have given him 99.9%. To lose.

how did he honestly give Violet a 50% chance?? I would have given him 99.9%. To lose. A) You don't diss your teammates, its bad PR for everyone. B) Violet is Flash's roommate, teammate and practice partner. I would give any A-teamer in KT better odds against Flash than outside A-teamers (though thats a double edged sword, so to win, you have to think outside the box and be unpredictable).
From the match itself, it was clear that Violet was out to have some fun with it, likely aware of his odds, as well as the odds of him making the finals (as opposed to Flash's). While it was sad that one of them had to lose, the post-game portion showed there were no hard feelings.

Since it’s another zerg player, I’m okay with that.
fOrGG is the best. EffOrt? Clearly hes just another zerg.

forGG is being mighty cocky for someone who got easily dispatched by Action in the OSL.

And he would've been the perfect kind of Zerg for forGG to kill with one of his timings. But Action beat him early in both games. A ling all-in that forGG countered terribly in the first, and hydras on his doorstep in the second game. I think -- I hope! -- most Zergs know what's up.

Action ended it early with agressive play against ForGG's mech , but i agree Action is the next big zerg on the rise . I hope he does well in this OSL and advances with Effort .

Thanks for the translation smix!
All KT players are being super polite but it was obvious that Flash was a huge favourite. But it was cool to see Violet smiling after the game. He obviously didn't have high expectations.

Woah didn't know it was this many KT players in the ro16. Shows how much I've been following. Jaedong really has Kal's number..........And Jaedong so handsome yo so jealous~

So many KT. They better thank god that the PL has the worst post-season setup in the history of competition (with the 1st place team automatically going to the final) otherwise this would be a really busy time.
|
All that ever comes out Flash's mouth is about food.
I like, I like.
Jaedong is becoming a bit arrogant...not holding his record against Kal in high regard, umm? Might as well. I love players with personalities.

Actually jaedong is one up on free now. Yeah but no doubt, them three are the only ones who has been going toe to toe with jaedong.

Flash might end up teamkilling his way to the finals.

I dont know for whatever I found Jaedong giving Young a sendoff into the army a really classy move. Definitely shows good character in my opinoin, I wish him luck.

Big thanks for the interviews, 3 KT interviews in one thread a good haul! Shame Violet had to play FlaSh though.
