decimate

v : To select by lot and kill one in every ten of.

Plus that was the original use of the word "decimation" in Roman times. What happened to your love of Roman history, Steve?

I think Niza, JulyZerg, Jju and GoRush have the best chances, btw. You really can't have a poll like this without Jju and GoRush .

On the flip side, I highly doubt that Zerglee or Silver will become the next King of the Zerg .

Actually JJu has been playing for a long time but only recently has been doing good in the leagues, I would've considered him to be there? Also I'm not quite sure of Junwi's past - how oldschool is him?

Junwi[tnc] has been around the west channels forever, and replays have been floating around him. However, he has not been pro very long - came in with a bang and left right after.

Same goes for a lot of these guys - both Jju and especially GoRush has been around forever - GoRush was the guy who beat I.Love_Star in the wcgc tourney way back in 2k. It's just that they start showing up in the big leagues lately.

I bet it's the same with all these faces, they probably have been in forever but just recently reached the level allowing them to "make noise"
River me timbers.

I considered putting Jju, Gorush and Gyuntae put the point is that they have been around forever and have not been able to break thru to the finals and personally, I highly doubt they never will. And as I said earlier the poll is about "new wave" of zergs.

My vote goes to Hyuk as he is sort of a crossbreed of Blackman and Chojja(as Muhweli put it), he has excellent micro/macro and stunning gameplay. Just wait and watch him do a clean sweep!

There will never be another king of zerg as long as Yellow is still playing Starcraft.

It is interesting to see if Yellow or Boxer can still live up their expectations as almost everyone considers them as the Grandfathers of this game. As we have seen Boxer is not really in his prime anymore(Niza anyone?) and Yellow has been losing alot to pro-leagues new comers.

The oldschoolers ChRh and IntoTheRain have also gone into a horrible slump which they might not recover anymore. Boxer and Yellow might be the next ones to join them?

I think the newcomers are doing very well because I think the psychological part of being a old-school progamer is hard.

Do you practice to take out Nada and the top people or practice to maintain your position by taking out the newcomers?

I'll make an analogy, take it or leave it.

You are killing an ant pile, you can either kill all the thousands of worker ants or just kill the queen and be done with it. The thing is if you fail to kill the queen you will get bitten dozens of times and possibly get infected [ I.E. The ' Slump ' ] If you kill all the worker ants you will still have a minimalized ant problem yet they will continue to keep coming.

What I'm trying to say is, there will be infinite newcomers to the pro-gamer scene as long as Starcraft is still played. I think it's just up to the individual to decide who they want to take out.

And yes it saddens me that IntoTheRain, Boxer, and recently Yellow are doing poorly. However it does not WORRY me because Boxer is the best player there ever will be, Yellow is the most consistent player there ever will be, and IntoTheRain just has that special something that I think will keep him a legend to speak of.

You are probably right. As long as Broodwar is played there always will be people cheering wildy after Boxer and Yellow. Btw your anylogy fits perfectly to the Boxer&Niza incident.
