Niza is OVER-fucking hyped. He's on Nada's team, so they probably practice all the time. If the team manager thought that Niza could beat nada consistently, he would obviously give Niza a higher spot on the team.

Also I'm not quite sure of Junwi's past - how oldschool is him? Junwi[tnc] has been around the west channels forever, and replays have been floating around him. However, he has not been pro very long - came in with a bang and left right after. Same goes for a lot of these guys - both Jju and especially GoRush has been around forever - GoRush was the guy who beat I.Love_Star in the wcgc tourney way back in 2k. It's just that they start showing up in the big leagues lately.

My vote goes to Hyuk as he is sort of a crossbreed of Blackman and Chojja(as Muhweli put it), he has excellent micro/macro and stunning gameplay. Just wait and watch him do a clean sweep! ![]()

The oldschoolers ChRh and IntoTheRain have also gone into a horrible slump which they might not recover anymore. Boxer and Yellow might be the next ones to join them?

Do you practice to take out Nada and the top people or practice to maintain your position by taking out the newcomers? I'll make an analogy, take it or leave it. You are killing an ant pile, you can either kill all the thousands of worker ants or just kill the queen and be done with it. The thing is if you fail to kill the queen you will get bitten dozens of times and possibly get infected [ I.E. The ' Slump ' ] If you kill all the worker ants you will still have a minimalized ant problem yet they will continue to keep coming. What I'm trying to say is, there will be infinite newcomers to the pro-gamer scene as long as Starcraft is still played. I think it's just up to the individual to decide who they want to take out. And yes it saddens me that IntoTheRain, Boxer, and recently Yellow are doing poorly. However it does not WORRY me because Boxer is the best player there ever will be, Yellow is the most consistent player there ever will be, and IntoTheRain just has that special something that I think will keep him a legend to speak of.

You are probably right. As long as Broodwar is played there always will be people cheering wildy after Boxer and Yellow. Btw your anylogy fits perfectly to the Boxer&Niza incident. ![]()

The poll had some possibilities, but a poll based only on when the players started playing the game isn't really very interesting. Who cares if the player is "new" like ipx or an old school player like Niza who's found his game recently. The question you really asked (it says so right in the title of your thread) is who will be the next Zerg King. And in properly answering this question, it's ridiculous to disqualify players like Niza or GoRush because they happen to be "old school." The fact is, what we're all interested in isn't to see "which of the REALLY NEW zerg players will become the next Zerg King." That may take YEARS to find out. The better question is "who will be the next Zerg King AMONG ZERG PLAYERS NOT NAMED YELLOW OR CHOJJA." Or "who will be the next Zerg King among the new wave of Zerg users (not named Yellow or Chojja)." Or something like that. We're seeing a mini changing of the Zerg user guard right now, partly due to the recent decline in the play of established Zerg users like Yellow and Chojja - and partly due to the maturing tournament skills of players like GoRush, JulyZerg and Jju. Then, there's Niza, who may turn out to be more hype than anything else, but who's still impressive enough to scare the heck out of tournament opponents in Korea - at least for now. Either way, these are exciting times if you're a Zerg fan. Bottom line: no poll asking who might be the next dominant Zerg a la Yellow or Chojja should have players like Jju, GoRush, JulyZerg or even Niza off the list. I like the poll. The idea's great. But your options leave a lot to be desired.

The fact that I left alot of players out of the poll was due to the reason that polls hold only 7 options in them. A player rising from the pits of the "your average" mud is a rarity and I've not seen such a thing in this game... Yet... Gundam after winning one major league(can't remember which) has gone into a such bad state that I think he is impossible to recover from. Gorush, Yellow, Jju and hell even Mymyung and the other oldschoolers have a steady win/lose rate but It has been awhile that they have been making heavy noise in the grand finals. Though I am not claiming that any of these players don't have the potential to get back to their prime, killer-superstar shape again but I personally believe that it takes a new fresh face that will burst into the first spot example like the instoppable force iloveovv did. Then again, one year in the pro-gaming scene is a long time and anything can happen. I'm really looking forward if Niza can prove he is worth the hype. But... I must agree, when I think about it, the poll has some major flaws in it.

Well, Yellow certainly did not fail time after time, Chojja has had his moments, JJu is looking quite hot lately and Gyuntae was never in the same league as those players. In fact i don't even think Gyuntae is good enough to be compared with many of the players in the poll =)

Still i don't say Niza will be the next Yellow but no one can deny his talent. I tend to think ogogo suxx but he recently beated the marine and yellow maybe he's getting better .. Wait and see... Horrible comparison. Boxer is in a major slump right now, whereas in 2002 he was in his prime. Boxer raped the shit out of Yellow several times, did he not? Are we to say that because of this, Yellow is not as good as Niza? Sure, Yellow beat Boxer his fair share, too, but he still lost a lot to Boxer. Terrible comparison, in my opinion.

Winning Yellow one game doesnt mean jack. Well he is something like 3-0 against Chojja and 7-1 against Jju. The only ZvZ game I remember him losing anytime recently was against Jju in the last OSL. It's true he hasn't gone toe-to-toe with Yellow in a series but his results in other ZvZ matches have been looking good for him.

-At that time, he was considered one of the highest apm zerg (not sure was it 300s-400s). Chojja had high apm too I think, but he was part of old school thus not on the list. -Someone uploaded some awesome replays of him playing during or before this thread was made (raping boxer/nada or someone similar) -He never dominated, but probably because of charismatic reasons or amazing play from one or two games it made him be favoured in this poll These points are just my impressions of him in 2004, so it may be wrong.
