From Proleague Wrap up, to random comments players said out of Interviews, it's time for some Starleague hype!
Would you?
Jaedong: "I'll never, ever, show my fans games like this again"![[image loading]](http://img.dailygame.co.kr/news/201007/attachments/20100707_7b48ac67894d15f0118329d7d382d312.jpg)
Jaedong did not look happy, despite winning his matches in the OSL. He was frowning, like someone who had lost the game.
Referring to his performance on the 7th, he has said that "I don't think I can ever show my fans games like this again. I continually made control mistakes in the middle so I couldn't end the game quickly. In addition, my opponent prepared really well, and I got flustered so I wasn't able to fully show my play. I can't believe I played a game like that. I need to go back to the dorm and watch the VODs and study more."
"I transitioned to Mutalisks and went to attack Ssak's natural, but there was a Valkyrie, as if he knew I was going to make Mutalisks. The second I saw the Valkyries I felt dizzy. I think my Terran play style has been read since I play a lot of games. After finishing the first set, I thought that i needed to do more varied play than I do now."
Referring to the second set, he said that "Honestly, my Mutalisk control didn't go so well. There were so many mistakes that I was embarrassed that fans were watching this game. I just gave up in the end and attacked, and I think my opponent got nervous because he was new. If he defended calmly, I would have been the loser of the 2nd set. I'm really disappointed that I wasn't able to show perfect Mutalisk control as before."
The day before, Jaedong lost two games against SKTelecom and thus was responsible for his team's elimination from the Playoffs. So the fans were worried about Jaedong. Regarding this, Jaedong said that "I forgot the losses I had yesterday. To be honest, if you want to wait until the shock from the loss is gone, it would last a life time. I realized through experience that i need to forget about them quickly. I blew away the shock when preparing for today's matches"
He then asked for support from his fans. "When I read HiyA's interview a while back, he said that I needed to qualify for Starleague so that he could practice. If I make it to the round of 16, I wouldn't know how long it has been since I did the Starleague group selection with a teammate. I will definitely make it to the round of 16 so I could do an entertaining group selection with HiyA, so please continue to watch me"

Draft Evaluation Process revamped
▶ Unexcused absence, or people who give up in the middle are banned from the next draft evaluation matches. ▶ The draft evaluation will now take place over two days rather than on one day. The 2nd evaluation groups will be based on performance from the day before. Furthermore, there are now a maximum of eight people per group. ▶ Out of the 122 amateur players who are registered with KeSPA, 64 players (16 Zerg, 23 Terran, 25 Protoss) players will participate. The maps are Grand Line SE, Polaris Rhapsody, and Fighting Spirit, in that order. ▶Only people who are in the top 55 spots will be able to participate in the draft. OUt of these, only those in the top 22 spots will be able to be priority drafted by a progame team.

Snow: "Kangmin is my Role Model"![[image loading]](http://img.dailygame.co.kr/news/201007/attachments/20100708_6737afab89919756bd6eaf627a5469ad.jpg)
CJ's Snow, who emerged victorious in a duel that would reveal who is the strongest in the Dream League, has raised his team's spirit by defeating Soulkey using his "Brand Name Harassment". After wining all eleven of his games in Dream League, he was promoted to Proleague. He solidified his place in CJ's roster by recording 17 wins and 11 losses in the Proleague.
"I still don't think I'm part of the A team. I always think that my basics are still weak, so I keep thinking that I needed to do even better. If I want to be a proper part of the A team, shouldn't i be much better than I am now?"
Snow has been called a "cheating unit" in Dream League, because he played in the Proleague along with the CJ A team right before the Dream League finals.
"Before I did Dream League, I played a few games in the Proleague but I lost them all. So I thought I would never get another opportunity. Thankfully I won all eleven games in the Dream League and caught the attention of our manager, and was able to get another chance. I thought that I couldn't let go of this chance so I did my best. After losing an opportunity, I realized how difficult it was to get another opportunity."
Snow played Soulkey, who had the most wins in Dream League, and he contributed significantly to CJ's victory through his "Brand Name Harassment". Snow was surprised, saying that "the harassment went better than in practice".
Snow admitted that he was a little jealous of Soulkey, when Soulkey recorded the most number of wins in Dream League. "Because I was able to play in Proleague while not being able to play in Dream League, I'm not that disappointed. But the most wins title is still a title. I think it's proper for a progamer to be ambitious about a title"
Snow said that Dream League is "not a place one can stay for long". This is because while it's nice to do well in Dream League for one season, but playing longer would imply that there hasn't been any improvement, and said that "Next season, I'll see you in the Proleague often".
"I think players like Soulkey and I are becoming recognized by the team through our achievements in the Dream League. I hope the other B team players will look at us, get hope, and do their best."
When asked who his role model was, he answered "Nal_Ra" without hesitating. This was because he wanted to play entertaining games while having solid foundations, so Nal_ra, who has achieved his dreams, was the player he would like to be like the most.
"You can't be the best just through strategic plays. You need solid foundations so that you can play entertaining games. I want to be a player that the fans would definitely watch the games of. Please cheer for me more"

STX's manager Kim Eun Dong: "I don't think Tossgirl can play"![[image loading]](http://img.dailygame.co.kr/news/201007/attachments/20100712_f69905574015096f72cb88bee26c4987.jpg)
Manager Kim Eung Dong of STX said that "it is very unlikely that Tossgirl will be able to play in our last game of the season against SKT"
"We absolutely need to win so that we can confirm our second place, so I think it'll be difficult for Tossgirl to play." He added that "I managed the team badly so I wasn't able to create an opportunity for Tossgirl to play", adding that "I'm really sad because Tossgirl practiced intensely after making it into the July roster, and it seems unlikely she will be able to play"

Haha, Bisu is the only SKT player wearing that weird orange outfit XD
Also, does anyone have a video of that ceremony Leta did a long time ago where he did some sort of karate-type kick? I remember he was apparently some big deal karate-type kid before he decided to pursue progaming.

What does that say on ZerO's cake? Le Petite Prince?
edit: That sign is friggin hilarious. Is a TL member responsible for that?

I'm really liking these 'odds and ends' posts, many thanks for them. Too bad about Tossgirl, is she that far down on the in-house rankings? =\

What's this new harassment by Snow?

bisu stands out so much in the last picture with his orange

Lol. Bisu totally standing out in the picture with that orange shirt on.
Don't follow the footstep of Netherland please.
Damn it...Tossgirl...I hope she will make it to next season's roster. I don't think she will play on the playoff roster either.
Jaedong is trying his best to keep Leta away from Kal.

whoa, didn't know leta could do a standing backflip =o
|
Leta needs to pull out the backflip when he wins sometime :D (I know I would)
|
With the way STX players, with the exception of CuteAngel, are playing, can they seriously say that Tossgirl isn't good enough to play?
|
sparknotes of proleague (and stuff) is a great way to keep up with the interesting players. TY so much!
|
Tossgirl will pwn at SC2;)
|
Some of those pics are classic.
Jaedong can be very hard on himself at times, but being a perfectionist is what makes you a better player I suppose.
Thanks for all the good stuff, keep em' coming! :>

I'm impressed by Leta's backflip i agree he need to do it for a ceremony

these odds and ends posts are so great. It's so nice to finally get exposed to a lot of the korean coverage that arent just interviews :D

Rofl, everyone has white on, while Bisu's donning that orange. Totally stands out and looks extremely awkward. But hey, awkward is what Bisu is, so...
|
Is it bad that I laugh everytime I see action's head. I like the kid and he's in my pool but he sure has a weird head. that is all.
|
Awesome pics there.
The JD interview was funny, Flash looks like a hilarious dude, Leta can do backflips like a pimp, BackHo's on a streak. Sad about the Tossgirl and the manager taking responsibility for it. STX needs to pull it together fast. Playing poorly after this epic season is a damn shame.
|
lol nobody notice the "I'd go gay for Jaedong" picture, ahaha that's freaking hilarious
|
Jaedong is so tough, love that $hit
|
NO TOSSGIRL? WTF! that terrible :/ -sigh- and uhm
ID GO GAY FOR JAEDONG! that so cute
|
heh man. Effort looks like such a douche with his popped collar.
|
The stx coach should be sacked, and surely tossgirl couldnt do any worse than clam and kal lately. I feel so sorry for her practicing hard after inclusion in the roster and her team failing to get the 1 win necessary to secure 2nd.
|
Those were some awesome pics. thanks!!
|
Great pics there.
Poor Tossgirl, at this point she probably had a better shot than Kal or Calm. I would say they need a T bad but Frozean isn't completely sucking atm.
Leta win tonight instead of doing backflips!!
|
poor Tossgirl T_T
I don't understand why they didn't field her against Ace, rather than planning on playing her against STX.

Jaedong is always so responsible and mature the way he found a fault with A GAME HE WON?
its screams maturity. thats why i love JD more than say Bisu or Flash Bisu is cocky and Flash ... is a brick .. wall
JD seems like the kind of person i'd want to be friends with

Honestly, I think it's kind of bad-mannered to talk about how badly you played in a game that you won... sure, it's "humble," but it really just ends up sounding more like JD bragging about how well he usually plays. On top of that, it's extremely discourteous to Ssak: If JD claims that he played so badly, then what is he saying about Ssak, who lost to him?
I'm not saying that this is necessarily Jaedong's attitude, or that he's intentionally dissing Ssak, or even that what he's saying is incorrect. I still find it pretty distasteful.

if you look in the trans
"I don't think I can ever show my fans games like this again. I continually made control mistakes in the middle so I couldn't end the game quickly. In addition, my opponent prepared really well, and I got flustered so I wasn't able to fully show my play. I can't believe I played a game like that. I need to go back to the dorm and watch the VODs and study more." a perfect example of a man bragging

It's one thing to say "My opponent played really well, but luckily I managed to win"; it's another thing to say "My opponent played really well, and I messed up this, this, this, and this and I swear I'll never play that horribly again, but I still won." I don't know how much more you want me to dissect theoretical things he could have said. What Jaedong said implies that he considers himself to be much, much better than Ssak.

I never said that JD is not way better than Ssak. Just because you're being truthful doesn't mean you're not being rude, and you're certainly not being humble.
