I imagine that Kim Carrier predicts that Jaedong will 3-0 Flash. Flash just won his OSL and is too cocky, and he probably thinks he has an easy MSL finals. Jaedong meanwhile has been studying Flash TvZ VODs nonstop and has Flash's playstyle down to a T. Not to mention Jaedong is the master of BO5s and completely annihilated Flash in their last BO5 encounter.
Jaedong will put a stop to Flash's TvZ streak once and for all by dismantling him in a 3-0 fashion. Jaedong will then become the undisputed bonjwa of Starcraft while Flash is sent spiraling into a slump from which he will never recover.

I hope he's predicting Flash win MSL, because I want JD to win... *edit-> actually this goes against my earlier made prediction of Flash either winning none or both finals. hmmm. So I want my prediction to be wrong because I know Kim Carrier's predictions will be wrong... what??!?!
On January 21 2010 03:11 ketomai wrote: I was staring in disbelief until the Movie over Flash prediction. Are you sure he didn't give up at around 20 wrongs in order to miss on purpose?
Well, Movie DID put a stop to the same player that took out Stork AND Bisu. And Stork DID beat Flash in PvT in the round of 16.
So I can see how he could have reached that conclusion about Movie beating Flash. The issue is that Movie's PvZ is what got him to the finals but his PvT hasn't been seen that much.

Or perhaps he is trying to improve his success rate by rooting for the underdog instead of the logical choices that never seem to work out.

Never quite worked out for the past 10 years or so lol
Another reason why I never liked him when he commentated... =P Wasn't he the guy that was in Star 7224 or whatever and he was with Seo YeonJi and Choi EunHye?
lol! He is propably deliberately picking the wrong choise all the way, then when he came to the Stork finals, he was blinded by the silver curse. Way to go!

I am pretty sure he failed that predication on purpose lol.
He offered this bunch of explanation to justify his choice. Yet none of the justifications really made much sense. If he wanted to be convincing, he might as well have said that he believes in destiny, horoscopes and voodo magic and hence he believed in the power of a Protoss royalroading for every 5 years.
The only times when Kim Carrier predicted CORRECTLY: 1. Nada - Shinhan Starleague Season 2 2. Stork - Incruit Starleague 3. Jaedong - Bacchus Starleague 2009
I'm pretty sure by now he just aims to fail on purpose. Unless he still backs every Protoss player alive. That'd be the only reason he'd back Movie vs Flash when Flash is completely tearing everyone apart.

ok good so he succeeded in more than just the stork prediction. But I mean had he chosen yellow[arnc] over jaedong then people would have to put him into a mental institution. So I guess that means he's not failing on purpose thogh ^^
stork hadn't won an OSL so his prediction made sense he was expecting Stork to fulfill his king of the silvers reputation, then Stork won and he was like WTF

yeah but still, he also chose jd over yarnc, so he cant just be trying to fail
Even if he's trolling he's got some pretty good stats if you consdered how many times he's gotten it "right" vs. how many times he's gotten it "wrong."
Would be interesting to see someone do a statistical analysis on it.... and I'm not volunteering.

My sense of this is that it is a running gag. He purposefully predicts the opposite of what he is thinking (and has been doing a good job of it for a long time). Evidence of this is him saying "The curse will be broken this time!" and predicting Stork to win, and having it come true. Then, he just resumed as normal.
I don't know how predicting JD over Yarnc in Bacchus fits into that pattern. But, you can't look into it too deeply.
Because... in the end, it is just a joke, or a prediction. It has no impact on what will actually happen in the finals. I'm a JD fan, so I would like to see him win, but I know Flash will be a tough opponent. But I also know that either one of them can win. So as a JD fan, I'm not too worried about Kim Carrier's prediction or his 'curse.' It's not real.
tldr: Jaedong and Flash will decide how the MSL turns out, not Kim Carrier.
sheeeshhh, everyone knows curses won't work on JD.... You don't see JD being affected by the OSL curse : P (JD has back to back wins in the batoo and bachus osl)

you realize there arnt that many starleague finals in SC's 10 year history right?
He's predicting more than just the finals. Like "Oh, the people will do well b/c of legend of fall," is not a finals prediction. There are also many starleagues each year.

I don't know but I thought it was a good time to make a Harry Potter reference. I would say the other two curses are the ogn curse and possibly the pandabearguy curse.

Actually, when Jaedong was going to win that game 3, the Kim Carrier curse realized he was going to win the whole finals and quickly shut off the power to the MSL stadium, hoping that they would do a re-game.
Luckily, the KeSPA officials have helped defeat the curse.
I think that this concludes whenever Kim Carry bets on someone it'd be best to follow the opposite of his predictions than to follow anyone else's predictions.
Since it's a new PL season, what did Kim Carrier predict now? Sorry for bumping, he just predicted Mind 2:0 Bisu in OSL Ro36 because of some guy holding a sign.
AND... Bisu 2:0's Mind.
Did he have a prediction for the Flash vs Effort and Flash vs JD finals?

He predicted Effort 3-1 Flash. Which isn't far from the truth. Rofl who would bet on Mind beating Bisu?

Kim Carrier picked 2. The girl revealed that choice 2 was Mind 2:1 Bisu.

I guess the logic behind the pick is that Bisu entered the worst slump of his career recently. However, Mind has not exactly been [edit: consistently] playing top level SC since 2008, so...

He's never actually beaten Bisu since the MSL finals.
This guy has to be trying to guess wrong. No one fails so badly. At the times, Flash was definitely the favorite over JD and Effort even though they won.
wow... do progamers know this curse? Cause it seems statistically, this curse is accurate... I mean if I were predicted to win, I'd be like "Fuck it" then call my opponent and congratulate him...
Wow this is a scary curse to recon with if only BoxeR had a golden mouse and Anytime didn't get 0-3'd by firebathero but the curse denied both Anytime and BoxeR the wins =(
