Source: DailyEsports Aftering interviewing Jaedong and Flash for last year's "Best Friends" column, I was wondering who to interview next. Fortunately, I heard that Yarnc and Luxury were to star in a Korean tv show. I got to interview them on the way there in the car.
But there were some limitations in conducting the interview, as I only had the time in a moving car. Both agreed to do a fuller interview later after Round 3 of the proleague, so this session will be just random chat.
It's rumored that the two brothers aren't close. However, I knew the real personalities of both people and looked forward to it very much. During the chat, my stomach sometimes hurt because of the laughter. I met Yarnc through the 5-zerg relay interview and "Best Friends" interview with Type-B, and met Luxury through the 5-zerg relay interview and through the "People's Corner" after his victory. I knew how talkative they were and anticipated for this very much.
As expected, the interview was much fun and we didn't even notice the time fly. The driver even said that our chat sounded like the "7224" program.

Your conversations often aren't very nice. Yarnc: Even as a joke, sometimes they are bit overdone. Luxury: Honestly, it's more fun this way for the fans. Consider it something like our warm gift to the fans? Yarnc: Truthfully, a pleasant conversation isn't much fun. If we only compliment each other, it's not fun for the viewers. Luxury: As long as the viewers are entertained, it's all good. We grew up through the love of our fans. ^_^ Yarnc: Fans always come first! Luxury: Why are you copying me! Yarnc: Because I only say things to you for the fans too. Stop trying to look good all by yourself.
Now now, stop fighting. Your results recently haven't been very good. Your explanation behind that? (Note: I think this is directed to Yarnc only.) Luxury: It's because Yarnc lost in the finals 0:3. After such a humiliating defeat, I think he's burdened by the thought, "when will I get to the finals again?" Yarnc: No. Just no.
In that case, you won your title Lux, but you've dropped out of all the individual leagues. Luxury: After winning the title, I've gotten lazy haha. And plus, when it's cold, my hands freeze and I can't play well. Just kidding. I think winning an individual league requires a lot of luck, and I think I used all of mine during the Lost Saga MSL. I keep thinking nowadays, "That luck will return someday."
Have you given any advice for Yarnc as a hyung for his slump? Yarnc: I don't think I will take any advice well. I strongly believe that I alone must conquer my slump and achieve results. As a result, I don't want any help from anyone haha. Plus, we both hate receiving help so we don't give each other much advice.
You both haven't appeared in the Proleague very much lately. Yarnc: That's to fulfill the "Miracle of Sparkyz". We want to show the miracle of suddenly tearing through the ranks near the end, so you could say my team is saving the "Yarnc card". (laughs) Luxury: If I go out, who could defeat KT? It's all for the other team ^_^.
Rumors are that you two aren't very close. Yarnc: It's just that we don't have much to say. We talk a lot about SC, but little outside of that. It's probably because we both don't like interfered by other people. Luxury: Thinking about it, we never had a drink together. Maybe it's because we trust each other to do well?
Are they really identical twins? (Note, NOT A Q&A, just a side note from the author) Identical twins have the same personality and get sick at the same times, but that's not the case for these two, outside of their appearance. Luxury is a bit colder and more like a city-person, while Yarnc has a more innocent and cute image. The two were alike at first when they were both in Sparkyz, but their personalities diverged as Luxury moved to KT.
You're twins but have different images. Yarnc: I'm more innocent and nice. Luxury: Maybe our living locations have something to do with it? Sparkyz house is up in the mountains while ours is in the middle of the city. I was also nicer and more innocent when I was at Sparkyz. The air there was also cleaner so I had better skin. Now I'm drinking in the polluted air and I think my skin has gotten rougher and my personality has become colder. Yarnc: I think he may be right. I haven't had the luxury of a city life yet so maybe I'm more innocent? Luxury: You're making it sound like I'm not innocent or kind. I'm innocent too!
Then what are your opinions of each other's personality? Luxury: How should I know Yarnc's personality? I generally don't judge people that well. (laughs) Maybe he's a person that accepts whatever works? Yarnc: Dang, he knows me exactly. I just live with whatever works, lol.
What if you both like one girl? Yarnc: Our relationship as brothers is meaningless concerning love. I will never relent. Luxury: I'll let him have it. I am after all the older brother. Yarnc: It's easy for anyone to say that they will let someone else have something. It's a different matter when they're actually facing the situation. Doesn't a person's real behavior come out only in those situations?
Outside of your faces, your looks have changed as well. What part do you think differs the most? Yarnc: I'm too busy to even look at my own face so I'm not sure haha. Luxury: I think our ears are the most different? Yarnc: Maybe our eyes? I think my eyes are gentler while Lux's are sharper.
A member of Rainbow recently said to be a fan of Yarnc. Luxury: It must have been part of a script. Isn't it weird when there are a many better looking progamers out there? I think what happened was that member was asked to pick a name out of Hite Sparkyz and randomly picked Yarnc. Yarnc: I thought it was scripted too so I asked and she said it wasn't ^_^. Luxury: You believe that? Does it make any sense? Such a pretty person being a fan of you?
Person next to them says he'll call to make sure. After phone call "She says it's not scripted. She really likes Yarnc."
Luxury: She's a weird person. Yarnc: I think that way too lol.
Yeah which one in Rainbow? I guess you would need to read interviews from Rainbow.
Also lol, Sparkyz interviews are always hilarious. Luxury not really caring about titles anymore while Yarnc trying it struggle to get out of his slump.

heh I was thinking the same thing. I love it when we get to see the personality of the professionals we put on those high pedestals ^^ I'm looking forward to the longer version.
Wait.... they are actually twins? I thought it was just 2 pro gamers who happened to look remarkably similar. I never compared them side to side, but I'm still surprised I didn't notice.

And for those people asking about the Rainbow girl...do you even watch StarCraft? I believe the commercial where she says that is on 29282394324 times during ProLeague matches. You don't even need to know Korean because they show a clip of him I do believe. O.O
Hahhaa this was an AWESOME interview. It's definitely not easy trying to capture humor while translating but you did a great job! Love hearing them bicker like that haha.

"Innocent" in Korean culture goes along with ideas of being "pure" and not "tainted", implying an innate good-naturedness, so even in their 20's it's considered a good thing to have (though of course, they'd expect a a twenty year old less likely to be "innocent" than a teenager). In Western culture "innocent" has more of a connotation of being naive, which I think is the main difference.
