A new year is very quickly dawning upon us. With the recent economic downturn we hope to bring about growth, change, and hope in a time where people can't even afford a nice sweater vest, or small kitten.
Now I know my cabinet and I have taken some fair criticisms from my opponents , but I think it's time for me to show you what Stephen is really about :
So anyway me and my AZN friend (pictured, and yes he is sick on cello, duh. I saw him play enter sandman once, for real.) decided it's time for the 3rd annual Ottawa Lanstravaganza. So now, onto the business side of things. For those of you who have been absent , I will fill you in on what has happened thus far in the saga:
----------------------------------------------- Tournament #1 the beginning
The first tournament had Clan Leader of NrG, NeverExpo, sweeping the tournament in a series of BMs and offracing, before Mexican/Chinese/Unknown player "Sir Carlos the Third, his Royalness" gave him some stiff competition in the finals, though ultimately losing because of some sort of leprosy or some such ailment (presumably). Oh, and Kennigit was there, so we are like TL sanctioned or some shit. Nerds, try and contain your hard on.
The second tournament had NeverExpo suspiciously absent (we theorize he had a wood shop accident, or had an awful Hungry Hungry Hippos incident...) Sir Carlos the Third his Royalness was sure to take an easy win. Or was he? Some more AZN dudes (probably played cello too) showed up, and one looking like Inter.Calm. They were both quite good and everyone liked them. A semipro from Quake also showed up, and had the biggest mouse pad anyone had every seen. The Los faced some stiff competition in the finals, though he ultimately thwarted the Royal Road attempt by one of the hip looking AZN players from Waterloo. We also observed the finals on the big screen and that was pretty much awesome.
Two lovely tournaments. They both had something missing, and that something is me, the Prime Minister of CANADA. These other two chapters will seem like mere footnotes, no, mere parenthetical addendums compared to the THRILL FEST that is going to be the third and most deadly tournament:

Time: Starts at 7 with some pick up games, before starting the tournament
Where: Sandy Hill area of Ottawa (Address to follow in PM, this is strictly for my safety as a beloved and valued world leader)
How: Any way you can get to Ottawa U campus will serve you well, from there it is about a 10 minute walk. If you have a car or smart way of getting here/willing to help others, please mention in your post.
If you can't BYOC it's totally cool, there will be lots of chances to grab games and play in the tournament on others' computers. Or , just come to watch / talk shop with Sweet Hair, our resident dude with sweet hair and good ideas.

We will even try and acquire a prize of INCREDIBLE value for the winner if we can work it into the federal budget. I'm about 84% sure I'm gonna be there. In the last thread, there was some talk about a buy in. I think it might be good to have a ($5? $10? $100?) buy-in which covers, oh I dunno, pop, pizza and Mexican chips or something of the sort. I think 7-ish is dinner time for a lot of people, and I remember some people in the first LAN (I believe Mr. Champ) didn't have dinner until after the tourney, which was at like, 2AM or so. And it takes a lot of people quite a bit of time to get there, so they'll either have to eat during the LAN, or eat awkwardly early before the LAN. Also, keep in mind that Canadians may be pissed off at the government wasting tax payer's money to fund a pro gaming team, so a buy-in may be necessary to appease the general public
And just to clarify, this is taking place at Stephen Harper's house, right?
Il be there and i never said i was semi pro in quake! I just used to play in 1 or 2 tournament and played duel quite often T_T. Btw thanks for switching to the next week of what was originally plan! OH AND I have changed something in my SC mechanics that will allow me to get farther in tournament, its top secret but you shall see next month .
That's how we do in the nations capital boys, a non stop party. All the time, forever. Maybe Ol Unky Stephen will declare a national holiday to remember the Veterans of Starcraft.

It turns out that the OSL finals are in the wee-est hours of the morning that we will game into. For the hardcore, we can watch it on the big screen after the "OSC presents STL2010".
Might as well watch OSL, no reason not to. Wouldn't be the first time we pulled an all nighter at your place, haha

Delivery sounds good. Bronson Pizza might deliver that far (I know they deliver to the UOttawa campus). It's a little pricy, but it is awesome. Trust me on that one. I lived through exams on their pizza, McCain deep and delicious chocolate cakes, and Red Bull.
I'm kinda bummed about the hockey finals that just finished though.....

Yea show up at 7, we'll mess around until about 8 and the tournament will start. It ends well.... whenever. People stay over sometimes so that's all good too, since I can imagine many of us will want to watch the OSL + Show Spoiler +
