Do you want to give your feedback to the governing body of Korean eSports? After a period of translation and designing the new KeSPA Official English homepage is open for business. Simply go to KeSPA's Korean page and click the English tab in the top right hand corner. You can also register to write on their free board using the 'Join' button. Registrations are open to all foreign residents regardless of location.
(What a week for English sites within Korean eSports! I hope everyone signs up and checks them out. Please send your feedback to KeSPA and hopefully we can connect with Korean eSports in even more varied and interesting ways.)
|
Now if Kespa pulls any stupid shit, I know where I can protest their stupid decisions.
I mean seriously, first with the Backho "zizi yO" incident to the GoRush DQ to the fine on Ruby (?), and to the ridiculously tilted FA system which utterly favors the businesses (What the hell is the point of being a Free Agent, if the team/business is the one dictating everything you do).
However, it's also good to hear that Korean eSports is opening up to wider audiences.

Awesome. Now it'll be even easier for us to make them aware of how damaging and terrible they are to e-sports. Sweet!
But thanks for the info anyhow.

I would be a lot happier about these english sites if CJ just opened the doors to that "team store" link they have had forever
Still, nice find!

the only thing i have to say to them is "bring back gomtv" ><;

It needs a bit more work but it seems great.
And apparently the username muffindude was already taken. I am sad.
|
Okay, let's be civil about this. No spamming them with 'FUCK YOU' and 'YOU ASSHOLES' and all that. We can discuss things in a very mature fashion, and perhaps get them to change the way things work. I'm sure this is why they decided to create a site in english for us all. They really do care about what we think, and we're now a driving force in Korean eSports. Together, we can achieve glory!
...
Oh, who am I kidding? First person to get banned without using crude insults wins!
+ Show Spoiler +I in no way support doing anything that would get you banned from any website.

Awesome !

While I appreciate the effort the babelfish english is off putting.
Oh well, good for them for trying to reach the important (english speaking) foreign fans.

Use this potential... Our potential... wisely. plz

Yeah, lets not fuck this up by being immature and saying shit about them 24/7.

dear kespa, keep your hands away from jon747 x_x

hey this is actually kind of cool, it has all the proleague ranking chart for the past few years (back to 2007)
|
Great, now they can fuck players in two languages.
Anyways, at least they are trying to open their market to non-korean speakers. Now all they've got to do is make reasonable rules instead of retarded ones and we'll be fine.
|
nice ill probably check this out when im not capped :C
|
I still can't create an account with firefox or IE.
|
You guys honestly think Korean netizens are any more civil towards them? I really doubt they're going to be surprised if they see a flood of profanities from the English fanbase.

It actually looks like they put a lot of effort in to this english site.
I guess translating Proleague lineups wont be so hard anymore.

This is great, but I'm really curious why did SKT, KT and kespa all release english websites at pretty much the same time?
|

My guess: An initiative by KeSPA urging teams to expand their markets. It is good for the scene as a whole and for individual teams. I am sure none of the teams (I don't mean players here) are oblivious to the overseas fanbase. Also to solidify their fanbase in respect to the somewhat soonish release of SC2.

SK Telecom's CEO is a chairman in Kespa, as far as i know.

oh sweet, let's flood them with hate and anger

I am utterly disappointed surprised at the lack of engrish. Seems pretty kewl, except the whole it being kespa and what not.

I love this.
I seriously hope though that we can approach them with well reasoned argument about why they suck, rather than coming off as mad foreign trolls.
|
That's awesome!
Seems like Korea are becoming more public with foreigners. First KT and SKT launches their english sites and now this!
|
so does this mean translated post game interviews?
that would be AWESOME cuz from what i understand that's like a LOT of work @_@
|
So they finally recognize the foreigner fans. Thats awesome :D

They've done a great job here. Done their research at least. The players are listed by their IDs instead of their names and it looks like they got someone fluent to proof-read it.

No, it doesn't. Those interviews are conducted by Fomos who are not employees of KeSPA. I'm not sure if I'll be doing any work for them at this point (or rather any more work because I have been involved with KeSPA on a freelancing level before and they've facilitated most of my press passes in the past two years.) but we'll see.
|
For some reason on .kr domain names the address bar in the browser will always have the main domain name and not the actual link to the page. This is a problem because it is a pain in the ass to link to a page. I've noticed this on fomos.kr and now this page. Does this happen with all .kr domains or is that just the way that they make their website? It is lame not being able to just copy the address bar to link to a specific page.

is kespa suicidal? do they know how much hatemail is going to come their way?

Props to Kespa, they got this one right.

My browser told me there was malware on some of the mvp pages . . .
|
This makes me happy :-) At least KeSPA is trying to make up for destroying the best tournament (for foreigners)!
|
|
Their maps section is very good.
|
The site is surprisingly good too! Rankings and official maps are easily accessible <3

Ohohohoho. How is this going to go? TL wins KeSPA?
Also, cool site dawg.
|
Nice move from Kespa. Next step is having some kespa official reading this forums to make sure they know how we feel :S
|
It might be a new person installed in KeSPA that is doing this. I suggest we don't flame or criticise and drive that person away, until we can determine who the person is
|
who is archer and who is nl best edit: Yeah I had special forces up.
|
Their MVP site is kinda cool, if only we know where to do their polls.
|
its a good news,i can only understand english
|
I'm actually impressed. Compared to the other english sites released recently, KeSPA's has a lot of good content, with the vast majority grammatically correct. The content is updated and quite useful, too.. some info on how KeSPA sees e-sports broken down as an industry and such.
|
nice news

Well, this is a great start for opening up to foreigners.
|
|
The way I see it, this is one step closer to them casting games in english. Sure, they are a terrible organization and make bad calls all the time, and set up a terrible free agent system, but at the end of the day, to me, possible english casts outweigh all of that.
|
Oh cool you can download the maps from their site.

I know quite a few of KeSPA's top bods (Head of Proleague planning, Assistant director etc.) - it was one of them who told me about the site opening after all so if you've got any suggestions then please comment about them here and I'll at least pass the news across.

since i'm just a bystander and have no regrets about beating dead horses, how about bring gomtv back as a suggestion? SHOW NO WEAKNESS NEVERGG, DEMAND IT

The only bad thing about gom dieing is no more weekly tasteless To be honest it's probably in the players best interest just like cutting out the wednesday proleague games
|
i wonder if this is a move predicated by good negotiation with Blizzard or something quite the opposite.
While progression is a good thing, and its certainly nice to be noticed, this is the company that crushes my hopes as easily as i do my Lucky Charms.
I guess i'm saying that now that KESPA knows we exist, do they know how much they are hated?
|
If they're not gonna bring GOM back, can they hire tasteless to cast OSL/MSL? ^^
|

LOL. Tasteless wasn't all that good after a while. He get sidetracked too easily.

Man it looks like complete butt crack in my browser because it is still set to korean language and the korean defaults in firefox were *terrible* until I manually changed them. But I appreciate the effort. I guess tell them to test on firefox more.
