Oh man, if this is true, then the head of the GOM S4 guy flat out lied to me. I have MSN chat logs of him telling me that they are in negotiations and that they are planning for December. I guess Blizz and Kespa and GOM never came to an agreement.

Does this necessarily have anything to do with kespa though? At least the OP made it sound like the teams pulled out out of courtesy to their players (Or more like they want a better PL performance out of them but w/e)
Coupled with the Ra interview stating how hard the current number of games is on the players and how it dampers creativity I guess it makes a bit of sense.
A pity though, GOM was a nice league with fairly good games, not to mention that the format somehow seemed to actually favour the best players.
Another part of me is happy, mostly because I want blizzard as far away from the competetive scene as possible.

If this is true and Blizzard and Kepsa haven't found a way to cooperate, what will Kespa do when SC2 comes out, they won't be able to broadcast any SC2 matches without the consent of Blizzard.

KeSPA is still going to operate, they have the backing of the government.
Which means if Blizzard deny them SC2 rights, they will be forced to stick to SC1 until some sort of compromise can be made.

Why would kespa need any acceptance from blizzard to do a SC2 league at all? If you look at the current situation they don't anywhere in their marketing include names or symbols copyrighted by blizzard.
Yeah I guess blizzard can be dicks and just randomly unplug their bnet servers during an OSL final or something but legally I don't think they can deny someone the right to stream played games.

All onlineplay in SC2 will be on BattleNet. This means that any playing that occurs has to be with agreement with the rules that Blizzard establishes.

If they establish (which they will) that only leagues that is recongnized by Blizzard are allowed to host tournaments with a prize pool higher than a certain amount and Kespa still uses BattleNet and hosts tournaments that goes over the the legal prize pool they are doing illegal activities.

SDM and TASTELESS is a wombo combo for us foreign fans and those who want English commentating. Why can't KESPA arrange for them to cast and earn a living of the other leagues?

Imagine full English commentating of MSL/OSL/PL, that would be so freaking awesome!

What does Kespa has to loose about that? SCII is around a couple of corners and if we and them are lucky we will see one or two more OSL/MSL why not make a gamble and see if they can earn some money. I even bet some company's is willing to buy in commercials for us foreigners. (Scenario of SCII being a major hit) Second scenario is non discussable.
