Is there a way so that the my output (the stuff I am sending out for the others to listen to my voice) is the sound playing through my iTunes? Because first off, I can only play music through speakers, and that is a bit too loud especially when my parents are in the house. Also, I don't want to press the push-to-talk button constantly just to play some songs...there definitely is a easier way, right? :D  | ||

Also untick "Play key Clicks" It's nice TL has a ventrilo now. Whats the server name? With regards to sending out music without a mic I have no idea. | ||

and you want to bypass the microphone. have you tried toggling the inputs on vent? | ||

what if I'm using Vista? (im trying to figure it out on vista atm  )What I did so far is right click the sound icon in the bottom right corner of the taskbar, and I see I can click Volume Mixer, Playback Device, Recording Device, Sounds. Why not just click on the arrow for bindings (it's under usename and server) -make new bind -set bind key -set function to wave file -click work dir and find ur file -click add else just put it not on PPT mode and sentivity to 1 and make sure your recoding is at "What U hear" "stereo mix" "wave" etc something like it's the same line your computer speakers use. | ||

And he wants to play what is coming from his iTunes, not a single file. Plus iTunes is MP3 not Wav format. and Clazz, I dunno if you noticed it yet but you can display whatever is playing through iTunes as your comment. | ||

but you'll have to switch back to microphone when you want to talk :| oh also if someone talks in your channel his or her voice will be picked up by stereo mix so.. | ||

Just do rage's setup. (Albeit you'll have to figure out how it works on vista )This tries to bring up a file to all users in the channel and if they don't have the same file in the exact same place they won't hear anything. Also, you might wanna search for an application that accomplishes this. On mac there is an application called LineTap (or something similar). | ||

Under recording devices, right click and check show disabled devices and the other one and check to make sure you have Stereo Mix. If you don't, update your sound card. | ||

A few points - This was used for a Windows Vista Home Premium machine though any version of Windows Vista should work. - The program used in this to make the player to ventrilo connection is called virtual audio cable. This program allows you to talk even in different channels or do other things without it effecting your music stream. The downside of course is the exact same thing if you cannot figure out how to change the output device of whatever audio you want to stream. - I use Winamp to play music in my guide but almost any program should work with any program that will allow you to change your output. This guide is still being worked on and improved any feedback would be great it is probably really confusing right now and will be updated ASAP. =D 1. Make sure you have the lastest version of ventrilo of course it can be found here. 2. Winamp needs to be downloaded which can be foundhere and follow the installation proc 3. The third program I use is called Virtual Audio Cable and can be found here and just follow the installation process to install. 4. After installation open winamp go to settings > preferences > output > configure and change the output to line 1 > apply 5. Go to where ever you installed ventrilo and copy ventrilo.exe and change the existing ones name to ventrilo -m.exe and paste ventrilo.exe back into the folder. Now you have 2 different versions of vent. you will probably want to make a shortcut for ventrilo -m.exe so you can access it easier. You can now use your ventrilo.exe normally but when you log in with your ventrilo -m.exe we will make it so your winamp music will play over it. 6. go to setup on ventrilo > set your input to line 1 and your output to mic 1. If you want it to play continuously deselect push to talk and change voice sensitivity to 0. Also check the mark to mute ventrilo in your ventrilo -m.exe or else whenever some one talks it will echo and caution it may be quite loud but you can chance the volume with the winamp slider. Use should now be good to go. This is a hastely put together guide and quite crappy quite franticly. I will start adding more detail and if needed screenshots. - allows you to stream w/o hearing the music yourself (unless you have your other ventrilo instance in the same channel), it creates a separate output/input which you can then connect directly from winamp to ventrilo - with the 2nd instance of ventrilo, you can voice chat normally - allows you to run the DJing ventrilo in the background and frees up your PC so that if you play other music, video, or games, those sounds aren't transmitted on the DJ stream. | ||
