Ok, so this will be my first blog EVER.
And its about time I actually do somthing thats been on my mind for long, and actually act upon my thought, lets hope it will be more than one time ^^
So my first blog theme, I've been thinking about this for a long time. I got home from work just now, working night shift on a petrol station. We make food, like hotdogs and hamburgers, and normally people get to chose what they would like to have on their burgers. Like no tomatos, or no dill pickles. So to my point, this guy talks to his friend, when I ask him if he wants everything on his burger, and he says: "yes" "and extra dill pickles please" and im like wtf, no one ever wants that, normally they dont even want dill pickles. But then this guy tells his buddy exactly that, that before he hated dill pickles on burgers, but now he really loves it. (how can that be???) normally people are very picky. So he says that he was out with some of his buddys on a trip, and they stopped for burgers, and one of his buddys told him that the burger is all about the dill pickles (which is true), he really should try it, and TRY to get the sense of it. So he tries it, and he starts to enjoy it. And suddently now its all that matters on the burger. He say he was astonished how he could like it just like that. And now he loves dill pickles.
SO, my point is, You shouldnt make an oppinnion about somthing, UNLESS you really tried it, and tried to try it.
Even the opposite way, just like me and marzipan. I cant stand it, and trust me, ive tried, several times, chirstmas after christmas, but it just makes me wanna puke every time.
Same thing, and this is funny lol, about my brother. When I started playing Starcraft, and I realized that its the best game ever made. I told my brother, and he didnt belive me, he really didnt think it was anything special, so I told him several times and we even betted on it, that he cant say that unless he really really tried it, and looked into it HARD. So eventually after some LAN partys, he did play it some (he said he NEVER was gonna like it, lol) and now he is waaay better than me, and only game he ever played seriously (Oo) he even is the leader for his own team and the national team.
SO I hope you get my point here, YOU NEVER KNOW, before you really tried. That goes with everything in life actually, you shouldnt rule out stuff unless you know what its about. I do that with everything, and I feel that it really makes perspective better in life.

PS. I'm still gonna keep tastin marzipan every christmas, I never know, maybe I'll like it one day

lol jk. although i agree with what you say, come to think of it late time i tried pickles was a long time ago, when i really hated them but idk if i still don't like them because i always ask for no pickles on my burgers etc, next time i shall though
EDIT: also u fucked up postin ur blog, its like double posted, might wanna check into that, or is it just me that is seeing that blank space..?

Some considerations:
There are things that can be known a priori. You seem to be denying this. For example, I do not want to be shot.
Would you say you dislike hard drugs without trying them enough to fully understand how they feel?
How about vasectomy?
Hum. Is there a way to easily differentiate between matters of taste and matters of principle? There should also be the "has no long-lasting effects" vs "has long-lasting effects" axis, and we can draw a pretty graph.

well I agree on never bashing until you tried- but NOT for burgers. They are too precious too risk, too precious.

I'm so overly curious I just have to try every new stuff to eat that I see. While most of the new stuff is rather mediocre or simply doesn't taste, you once in a while discover something thats really awesome

how about the death penalty? should you try that before making an opinion on it? or abortions? universal health care in the US? legalizing marijuana?

I can't stand food from the sea! Like fish, shrimps etc.
I've tasted several times but it tastes so bad every time I feel like puking.

mmm, didnt even consider this when i read the op.
I imagine 'recreational drugs' and alcohol is where the line becomes very blurry, and the two sides who think alcohol is a matter of principle vs matter of taste come and clash.

I think he's referring to things that won't have any negative or long lasting effects. I mean having pickles on your burger one time isn't going to drastically change your life, well...unless you suddenly love pickles so much you make your own pickling company...but I mean realistically.
Either way there's no harm at all in trying pickles or starcraft just once, while it's painfully obvious to see that trying drugs or a vasectomy will most likely change your life.
Edit: aw wtf? somehow I didn't read below vasectomy...oh well, my argument still stands.

hehe, some of you are taking it way too seriously. My simple goal on this was for mere hobbies like Starcraft, food, even patterns of thinking and belief. Issues like death penalty, abortion and drugs are not included. Those reasons are obvious and their consequenes can be observed by looking at others (and with a small portion of logic) to decidce to try or not. I'm just trying to remove some ignorance when it comes to stuff from my part.

Haha. I actually said the same thing to my cousin about Starcraft 9 years ago. "IT SUCKS! How can you even play that game?". So he burned me a copy, I played the single player campaign and still didn't think it was anything special. Returned the copy to him.
And... After 1 week I got this strange feeling of abstinence. I NEEDED IT BACK! And the following years all we did was play Starcraftt obsessively.
