I don't see why this is such a big deal to you, and trying to be a martyr like this will just lead to harsher punishment. There's no reason for you to respond to their warn, bottom line is this isn't your site, they determine what you get warned, and banned for.

I don't think it's "snide" that got you warned. Maybe it's that you managed to talk down to them both directly and indirectly in a two line post.

For reference:
Simple concept: less gun control, less gun related crime. It doesn't have to make sense to you and you don't have to like it but facts are facts.

I am really quite shocked as to how you could think these were quality posts.
In my (admittedly short) tenure here, I've found that these things in general lead to warnings:
- Making useless posts
- Terrible argumentation to the point of absurdity (you really have to work hard to do this!)
- Snippy arrogance
- Unwarranted name-calling
Experts may disagree, but it seems that you manage to accomplish all of the above in two posts.
Hint: If you're going to insult someone even obliquely, make damn sure that your argument showing he/she deserves the insult is unassailable. This generally takes more than two poorly composed sentences.

If you have a question about the moderating team, I suggest you take it up with them. I don't know what you'd achieve by making a blog about it that couldn't me done more quietly and with less drama if you'd simply PM someone.
Also, calling someone's comment snide and calling people immature and stupid are two completely different things. I don't have any sympathy for you.

You and the 'facts are facts' guy deserve warning, the other guy doesn't. You don't argue by saying "You're an idiot so don't talk scrub kthxbye."
Side note: I personally wouldn't respect a post like "you don't have to like it, but facts are facts" if you didn't link some of your facts either. I just wouldn't be a twit about it.
You deserved your warning, and probably will get another (or maybe even a temp ban) for this. Enjoy killer. ^^
A comparsion I would use for this kinda situation...
Multiple people were speeding, you got pulled over. Do you quiet up and take the ticket, or argue with the cop on why he didn't pull everyone over?

--Not relevant to the discussion. Can be interpreted as a snide comment. Its spam, certainly, but why does his not warrant a warning just because he didn't directly call me "stupid" or refer to me being "stupid"?
And its not that I'm butt hurt about the issue. I'm cool with a warning and I understand their purpose but I would like to know who warned me so I can articulate a proper response without the need for this publicly. I just want a little fairness when it comes to warning someone.
But I'll drop it. Its not worth the time or effort I suppose.

other people's stupidity doesn't give you a license to bust out the insults, that's why we have a 500 page automated ban list, the mods will get to them soon enough, unless you make them seem civil in comparison to your own posting.

You're oversimplifying your post by attempting to boil it down to one insult, "snide." On top of derailing the thread, you were a condescending dick who used more than just one insult. Your warning was justified. This wasn't a ban, so I see no reason to be upset over what happened to you.
As far as the other posters are concerned, one of the rules of the site is to not backseat moderate. This means not making blogs calling out other posters in an effort to get them warned or banned. If you really feel wronged by it, this isn't the proper channel to find resolution. Website feedback, reporting the post, and PMing an admin are all much more acceptable than some shit blog.
All of those would probably still lead to you worsening your punishment though since you're wasting everybody's time with this trash.

Yeah, that post was shitty too, but do you really think you can post a very controversial claim without any evidence, say "you don't have to like it, but facts are facts" and not get any flack for it? Come on. If you just put the source in your first post none of the ensuing shitposting would've happened.

Think about it this way. If you said what you posted to somebody in person, would you be called a douche? If so, it's likely why you were warned.
