I really like the new overhauls, but I feel like the banner sort of clashes with the old color scheme.
Here is my humble take on balancing this. Changes are very minor.

new layout feedback thread where you actually should post this. Interesting change, would want to see it tried out at least as it seems an improvement at first glance.

Yeah I was a little surprised the section titles were left in a lighter shade of blue, doesn't quite work as well with the new darker banner.

good change. one thing that annoys me is that the vertical length of the primary central bar (in the pic above, the place I'm talking about is where it say "Brood War Forum") is taller than the side bars, which annoys me for some reason.

actually i may like that extra emphasis, hmm....

I agree, it is a bit odd that only the banner/pull-down menus were updated, but the side-bar forum headings are quite a different shade of blue (more cyan/green) vs. the banner (more red/violet).

*shrug*

Even still, it's not that big of a deal.
