Hello All,
After watching tons of VOD's and shoutcasts (are they the same?) I thought: "Lets try this out myself". So last week I started doing my first casts and to be honest, the first ones are terrible, I watched them a lot and hope I learned a bit.
Now after I forced all my friends to watch the casts and give me feedback I would like to ask you guys to have a look and tell me what you think. My youtube channel can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/gjrebel. Please don't pick one of the first games (at first), as I think I learned quite a lot of them already.
I hope you will enjoy watching, thanks in advance!

you talk incredibly slowly for a shoutcaster. Will watch a whole video later, it's lunch time.

Probably will go to sleep after watching this! You`re in Amsterdam for gods' sake man, use those free drugs or go train something to get more power.
Good luck

Your too silent and you stutter sometimes, you dont have that OOOMPH that makes shoutcasters exiting. You could try to remedy it by getting a partner to shoutcast with you this way it dosnt feel all too awkward.
4/10 Points for effort, youll become better with practice, try again

Thanks for the replies!
I'll try and talk a bit faster with more power. I have to find the "OOOMPH" Madkipz was talking about. Next cast tonight, a new round, new chances...

After the feedback I casted 2 new games.
Its not flawless, but i'm very happy with the results Please have a look and tell me what you think.
Thanks in advance!

Practice makes perfect as they say! Keep it up. The more SC2 marketing and exposure the better, imho.

What i listened, you're doing alright. But i think you're just looking too much for the good words to say. I don't say it's bad idea, but it makes it abit 'sloppy'. Just go with the flow you know, but still with a sensible content.
But im not the one who knows about this stuff, but i think with practise, you'll improve your shoutcasting alot.
Gl with this. :-)

Yeah it sounds like you've watched it, written down a script and then your just reading it.
You probably didn't but it has to flooooooow for it to be really entertaining.
Keep it up though, good luck.

nice! i have a question, what did you use to make the video (what capture device gives 1080p?)

I liked it and subscribed but as others said, talk faster and if there's a huge battle or something yell :D

And one more thing, dont try to copy some other shoutcaster. Go with your own thing you suit and feel best. That's why i love Day9 for example, because he has his own way to do it.

I take this as a huge compliment, I love watching Crota. He is one of the best shout-casters/analysts around in my opinion.

Found the perfect words for it, will keep them in mind.

I use xfire to record, then pre-procces them with virtualdub to get them in the right format. There i add a +7-8% brightness because youtube tends to darken movies a bit. When this is done the files are huge. To finish em of for youtube i save them for quicktime inMPEG Streamclip. The movie in H.264 80% quality, the sound on AAC. Et voila, YouTube ready 1080p video's... Some of my video's are in 720p, they are recorded on my laptop.

True, I think i listened too much to Crota for a while. Used to listen to HDstarcraft, Husky and Day[9] too, but was a bit busy last week. You guys know any other good casters to watch and maybe steal some tricks off?
